Archangel Gabriel

In the Zohar, we learn more about Gabriel. After midnight he calls and then all the roosters of the world call. Gabriel writes down all the activities of the world's inhabitants each day and reads everything he wrote during the day.

It's hard to imagine that every thought we think, every act we do does not go unnoticed. There really are no secrets.

Always we are given the choice on what to do for we were created with free will. When we align with the Divine, our actions here on the earth plane arouse a stirring in the upper realm increasing the Light down here. The more we ask to be a channel for the Light, the more Light will be given according to the measure in which we use what is given us. The Light has no judgment. It either is or it isn't just as the sun shines equally on all. Being a channel for the Light means we have no special agendas, we are a conduit for receiving and then sharing, keeping our vessel open to divine inspiration.

Rise and shine,

Karen

Child of Light

Blessed is the child of Light
Who doth seek his Heavenly Father,
For he shall have eternal life.
He that dwelleth in the secret place
Of the most High
Shall abide under the Shadow of the Almighty.
For He shall give his Angels charge over thee,
To keep thee in all thy ways.

I Feel A Song Coming On...

This U-Haul truck was parked on my brother's street this summer when we stopped by for a visit. I was fascinated to learn how musical sounds are released from the sand on the beaches of Prince Edward Island in Canada. It got me to thinking about the power of music. It is everywhere when we tune in to listen, some of it less soothing in the cacophony of life.

In the Edgar Cayce readings, a suggestion was made. When you have an important decision to make, try listening to music to help you tune in for an answer. Music related to soft natural sounds and finer types of music with reed instruments were recommended for this client.

One of my favorite flutists is Carlos Naki playing Amazing Grace. I remember the first time I heard it. I was in Banff, Canada, looking out the hotel window at the snowy peaks of Sulphur Mountain. A friend had gifted me with the tape and what a surprise to hear my favorite hymn.

We watched a video last week that I found at the ARE Library on Paneurhythmy. A mandala dance performed outdoors in Bulgaria. Peter Deunov, the founder of this powerful dance to connect with nature likened each musical note as a living energy, like an angel, being birthed through our instruments. Hearing this description took music appreciation to a whole new level for me. I never thought of music as being alive. Not versus Memorex, but a living entity unto itself. It explains how sometimes we are so moved by a song, goosebumps ripple down our arms and legs, or our hearts well up with tears.

Music can be a powerful transforming agent to break out of a funk. I recently read the book Excuse Me Your Life is Waiting by Lynn Grabhorn. If you want to get out of the vibrational gloomies, she suggests start dancing around the house and singing some silly song like "Happy Days Are Here Again." Or make up a song of your own. The wild dancing literally cracks open the stuck low energy to where she can eventually click back into feeling much better.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Commitment

Nature is the language of the soul. Yesterday while sitting on the sofa talking on the phone, I heard a loud thud. A huge walnut dropped onto the deck, followed by a squirrel. My digital camera was beside me on the table.
Usually his bounty is an acorn, but this was the biggest walnut I ever saw. Way too big to fit in his mouth. I watched as he struggled to carry off this over-sized prize. Here he is trying to straddle it with his paws.

His determination to stick with it, paid off. He headed for the cherry tree and made a leap with the walnut in his mouth. As he landed on a spindly limb, he dropped the walnut, but at least it was now in the yard where he could bury it for another day.

This little episode reminded me of the poem written by N.W. Murray with the Scottish Himalayan Expedition in 1951.

Commitment

Until one is committed
there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back,
always ineffectiveness.

Concerning all acts of initiative and creation
there is one elementary truth,
the ignorance of which kills countless ideas
and splendid plans
and the moment one definitely commits oneself,
then Providence moves too.
All sorts of things occur to help me
that otherwise would never have occurred.
A whole stream of events issue from the decision
raising in one's favor all manner of
unforeseen incidents and meetings
and material assistance.
which no man could have dreamt
would have come his way.
I have learned a deep respect
for one of Goethe's couplets:

"Whatever you can do, or dream you can...begin it.
Boldness has genius, power and magic in it."

Many blessings!

Dolphin in the Night Sky

This week a tiny constellation can be found in the southern part of the night sky. If you live in the northern hemisphere, look for Delphinus around 8 p.m (EST). You will find it almost directly overhead. A star pattern composed of faint stars so close together they can be clearly seen.

I wasn't aware of a dolphin constellation and so this is really exciting news. In Animal-Speak, Ted Andrews writes that the dolphin was a symbol of salvation to the early Christians. To the Greeks it was a sacred messenger of the gods, a dynamic blessed symbol of the sea. Dolphin can open new creation and dimensions to a great degree.

(Delphinus)

Not only is the dolphin making an appearance but the whale, Cetus, will emerge from the south east horizon around 8 p.m., too. The whale is symbolic of the power of song and awakening inner depths. The Native Americans refer to it as the Ancient Record Keeper.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

The Phoenix Rises Again and Again

(photo from wikimedia)

Anxious to hear about the Chilean miners, I woke up around 1:30 a.m. and turned on the computer. What joy to learn that at 12:11 the first miner emerged, safely taking the twenty minute journey in The Phoenix, the rescue capsule named for the mythical bird that rises from the ashes. It was a half mile ride to take his first breath of fresh air in 69 days. A new lease on life. The sight of his seven year old son sobbing as he ran to his father brought tears to my eyes.

Smiling, I went back to bed filled with gratitude to God and His Angels, both heavenly and earthly, whose prayers and diligence made this miracle possible. Later this morning, when I woke up again, I turned on my little radio in bed. Ode to Joy was playing. A perfect selection for today.

Was it just me, or did the sun seem to have a softer radiance this morning as it peaked through a cloud over the fields?

Mario Gomez, one of the rescued miners, said, "I met God. I met the devil. God won."

Interesting how the crowd was chanting Chi Chi Chi Le Le Le. Chi is a word that means universal life force.

Wishing you a joyful day with your Angels,

Karma

The Angel of the Waters Fountain, Central Park, NY (photo from wikimedia)

Have you ever stopped to notice the way things play out in your life? Several weeks ago we had dinner at a new restaurant in northern Virginia. Mom and her friend, Hawk, were anxious to treat us to Indian food, although they were not that familiar with it. When we pulled up in front of the restaurant, we had a good laugh. It was called My Karma.

Now karma isn't necessarily a bad thing. It only means that what we put out into the universe comes back to us.

The other day I was guided to a book on the shelf. It was a refresher on something I already knew. The importance of keeping our attention on our I AM Presence, that aspect of ourselves that is Divine. Examples were given on how subtle the ego can be pulling us out of attunement. Even the slightest annoyance is a sign that our focus has been shifted to the problem.

The I AM has all the power of the universe so the more we keep our attention on it, the better things will turn out. I was moving through such a state of grace as I remembered this for a few days. Then something came up. Whammo. I lost all sense of balance and reacted, getting snagged by my ego.

The next day, the ground was soaked from the steady rainfall we had over the weekend, more than 6 inches in our area. With all that water, suddenly our pump died and we didn't have a drop of water in the house. The flow stopped.

The electrician has been here this morning working on the problem. Just now he hollered, "Turn on the tap!"

Yippee, the flow is on again.

I'm beginning to see more and more the subtle and not so subtle consequences of my attitudes. The Zohar teaches that every action creates an angel, whether it be positive or negative is dependent on our choice of behavior.

Wishing you a peaceful happy day with your Angels.

Ask Your Angels

The first angel book that changed my life was Ask Your Angels by Alma Daniel, Timothy Wyllie, and Andrew Ramer. I didn't really believe in angels at the time, but a friend introduced me to the book. It was through that experience my life changed as I began working with the Angels and seeing firsthand evidence of their influence surrounding me, if only I would listen and follow their direction. The book has exercises and meditations on how to align with the angelic energy field.

There's even a chapter on how to make your own angel oracle deck.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Feast of the Guardian Angels

Jesus said, "See that you don't despise any of these little ones. Their angels in heaven, I tell you, are always in the presence of my Father in heaven." I recently learned that today is the Feast of the Guardian Angels. One of the first prayers Catholic children learn is, "Angel of God, my guardian dear..."

Traditionally many parents have a picture in the room of their child showing the Guardian Angel protecting two children crossing a foot bridge. The presence of a guardian angel is the beginning of faith for a young child.

It is comforting to know that Guardian Angels are not just for children. Each one of us has at least one guardian angel that accompanies us on our sojourn here. Our angels love, guide, and protect us when we open our hearts and invite them into our lives.

The angels will connect us to our highest source of knowing, the Higher Self or I Am Presence. One school of thought is that our Guardian Angel is actually our Higher Self that became separated from us when we entered the earth plane. Our goal is to ascend, attuning our minds to that state of God-consciousness from which we fell.

The Angels encourage to stay in harmony in our feelings. We are moving constantly in great, magnificent vibratory activities, but our brains are too dense to register them. When you place your attention on your I Am Presence (Higher Self/ Guardian Angel) the currents of Light flow into your brain expanding the Light within every cell of your body. The more you focus on your Higher Self, the clearer your guidance becomes. Without this attunement, you only get fragments of promptings from your Presence.

When faced with a problem, still your mind and make the call to your Higher Self. Focus on the Light of your true Self, and not on the problem.

Our attention is our most powerful gift. What we focus on, we compel ourselves to become.

When you realize your attention has been on discord, seeing obstacles of all kinds, then know that when you turn and give your attention to the Presence, where all perfection is, you will see wonderful changes taking place.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.
