Never Alone

A most comforting assurance Edgar Cayce gave to people seeking to find the "light in the midst of darkness" was that no soul enters the material world alone. We are never alone. From the time we take our first breath, our guardian Angel is here to join us on our earthly sojourn.

When I reflect back on the times in my life when I was going through a dark night of the soul, it's nice to know I wasn't alone. My sweet Angel was with me, watching over me. I am so thankful to be aware of the angels. The more I embrace their loving presence, the more palpable it becomes.

So whatever you may be going through right now, whether it be the loss of a loved one, an illness, or a troubling relationship, I encourage you to ask your Angels to enfold you in their loving radiance. Close your eyes and open your heart to let their love in. You will begin to feel a peace that wasn't there before. Angels give us courage to be true to ourselves. To fulfill the purpose for which we came...to be a Light. Angels are truly God's messengers urging us to have faith and fear not, with God all things are possible.

Nothing is Too Good To Be True

At a loss for what to write this morning, I opened an old journal. I had pasted the affirmation Nothing is Too Good To Be True on a page. As I read the words by John Randolph Price, I knew it was a perfect message for today. It speaks of new adventures and that's what the deer symbolize, Gently guiding you on a new adventure.

I woke up in the middle of the night, our cat was beside me looking out the slider from the bed. Moonlight filtered through the leafy branches of the apple tree giving the garden a mystical look. I wasn't thinking about the deer when suddenly a large one appeared close to the apple tree. Fireflies flickered around him as he ate the apples off the ground. I am thankful for the gift to be awakened in time to see the deer in the moonlight. Yes, I am open to new adventures.

Nothing is Too Good To Be True

I am now willing to accept the unexpected,
unusual and amazing happenings in my life.

There is but one Presence in this Universe
and I am one with that Presence. There is
but one Power and that Power is good,
loving and benevolent.

Knowing this, I am ready to experience
the wonders of life, the new adventures
that contribute to a greater understanding
of the mysteries of the cosmos.

I am prepared to hear the inner voice,
behold the phenomena of unseen hands
and welcome the work of Angels on my
behalf.

I am open to the truth that nothing is too
wonderful to happen, that nothing is too
good to be true.

Yes!

Wishing you a joyful day with your Angels.

The Deer Returns for Lunch: An Angel Message

Resting on the bed and watching a movie, I happened to look up.

The deer had returned to eat more apples from the old tree in the yard!  Chomping a whole apple in her mouth, she trusted me enough to enjoy her lunch. Satisfied with her last bite, I caught a glimpse of her swift, gracefulness as she leaped over the fence and across the grassy field.

When a deer appears, it represents gently being guided on a new adventure.  Living on the farm was turning out to be just that for me.  I was so thankful the angels had guided us to our  home in the country.

A Joyful Heart

"A joyful heart makes a cheerful face."
Proverbs 15:13

I found this verse on a bookmark this morning. On a whim, I grabbed a book off the shelf and it was inside. Funny because in my meditation I chose to focus on joy. What I'm learning is that joy is a choice. I get to choose how I am going to spend my day. Even when things don't go my way, there are always reasons to be joyful if I stop long enough to appreciate who I am in Christ.

One of my favorite verses from A Course in Miracles goes like this. "In you is all of Heaven. Every leaf that falls is given life in you. Each bird that ever sang will sing again in you. And every flower that ever bloomed has saved its perfume and loveliness for you."

Nature is so wonderful. Much to my surprise, around 9:00 a.m. as I looked up from eating my breakfast, there she was. The same beautiful deer. Under the apple tree, in broad daylight, closer than ever before. What joy I felt watching her freely enjoy the apples as I ate my cantaloupe. I thought about getting a picture for the blog, but opted instead to appreciate the moment of communion in stillness. Her appearance came out of the blue. Many times I have looked for her, but she doesn't come. It's in those moments that I let it go, suddenly she is there. Life is like that...the harder I look or try to make something happen, the scarcer it becomes.

The deer is symbolic of gently being guided on a new adventure. Like her visitations, we are coming out of the darkness and into the light of a new day.

The Ministering Angels

I give thanks for the protection of the angels of God.
Luke 1:26-38

Genevah Seivertson in her book, The Christ Highway, shares a wonderful way to connect with the The Ministering Angels. Begin by looking up all the references to angels and their holy ministry of service in the Bible. Pray for a new revelation and a clearer understanding of these messengers of God and their loving, unselfish service through the ages. The Bible is full of incidents describing services the angels rendered to humankind. Their appearance is found in the Bible from Genesis 3:24 to Revelation of John 22:16.

There are millions and millions of ministering angels serving the Godhead (Heb. 12:22). Just as we find powerful leaders upon this earth, so there are powerful angels of God leading their hosts to carry out the Will of God. There are Angel Musicians (Rev. 8:6), Angel Singers (Rev. 5:11), Children's Angels (Matt. 18:10), and Protecting Angels (Matt.2:23)

The word angels means messenger. One who carries tidings or news. They are a race of intelligent Beings of a higher order whose office is to guard, direct, guide and carry out the will of God on earth and in the heavens. In times such as these, we need all the help we can get. Thank you, God for giving your Angels charge over us to guide and protect us in all our ways.

A Deer Messenger

There is always music
amongst the trees
in the garden
But our hearts must be
very quiet
to hear
it.

What a delight to stumble upon this old plaque a few days ago at a local Thrift Shop. One man's junk is another man's pleasure and as much as I love trees and flowers it was meant to be. There is the Music of the Spheres, a vibration with a set musical tone that emanates from all things, both animate and inanimate. These tones generate a mood that effects our emotions. In nature, I feel closest to God. On a clear night with the window open, I can almost hear the garden growing...a lovely hum of life.

A few nights ago, I woke up suddenly. From my bed I saw something move in the dark near the old apple tree. My first thought. The deer! She came back for more apples. I first saw her at twilight that evening. It seemed too good to be true.

I stared harder into the blackness. More movement. Then I saw her silhouette under the old tree.

There she was!

Her sweet visit brought unexpected tears. Where they stemmed from, it's hard to say. A deep wellspring in my heart. A cry for the return of innocence in the world.

Once again, I thanked God for knowing my innermost longings, for surely He awakened me at the perfect moment. I know some will say that all moments are perfect. It is only our perception that clouds the miracle. But the deer had come to heal me. The aching in my heart. I, who know about Angels, still have human emotions that make this journey wearisome at times. Although it is a journey without distance to a place we never left. (A Course in Miracles), it is good to share our concerns with the Holy Spirit.

As I lay there, I began talking to the Holy Spirit like I did years ago in the middle of the night when going through a challenge. I thanked Her for being my Comforter, my Healer, my Counselor, my Beloved, my Guide.

Then I asked a question that often puzzles me. Why is it that sometimes wonderful things have a way of opening up in my life, but take a turn unexpectedly leaving me empty handed?

I can't say for sure that the answer came from Her but it made sense. My receiving bowl is tilted. Out of balance. So once something is placed in it, soon it slips out. I need to stay focused on God, remembering God is within me and all is well with my soul, regardless of outside appearances.

I thanked the deer for being a messenger and soon fell into a peaceful sleep.

An Angel Who Almost Got Away

Yesterday our little cat Angel disappeared. We found the living room slider open. Somehow she must have maneuvered the screen door and taken off to see the world. I grabbed a big bag of dry cat food (her favorite) and shook it hard, calling "Angel!" I looked under the deck where she likes to watch the lizards from the slider, but no Angel. A quick trip to the meditation garden where she likes to watch the birds--still no Angel. I shook the bag even harder hurrying to the driveway to look underneath the cars, but no Angel.

I began to wonder if I had seen her for the last time. My heart sunk as I headed back toward the cottage. The farm is such a big place and she is an indoor cat. Would she survive? Then it occurred to me to call out to the Angels for help finding her. With shaking bag, I continued to search, feeling a strange welling up in my chest. Was she really gone? I walked on back toward the cottage. It was out of my hands. Then above the sound of the rattling bag, a soft meow. I looked to my right at a beautiful sight. Across the yard, there she was crouched down in a big patch of grassy green clover looking bewildered.

"Thank you, Angels!" I picked her up, snuggling her in my arms, carrying her into the house. I thought about not giving her a nugget treat, but like the prodigal son, she ate her reward and then took a nap. We were so thankful to have our lost Angel back home again.

Wishing you a joyful day with your Angels,

My Angel Mama and Her Beau

On June 5th our family celebrated the 92nd birthday of the first angel I ever knew, my sweet Mother, Mary Luckie. Her special friend Hawk was speechless when he discovered her true age. Mom answered the question so often asked, What's the secret to your good health? She grinned and said, "Staying positive, having faith and helping others."

We brought Mom to the beach to spend the week with us. A big dump truck pulled in front of us on the highway. I had to smile when I read the message: Great Things Expected!

With our angels guiding and supporting us all, no doubt wonderful things are in store for those who believe. Enjoy your day with the heavenly host.

For Extra Courage..

(Virginia Beach sunrise)
With an upcoming speaking engagement on Angels tomorrow, I was getting a little nervous. My teabag message this morning was reassuring. "Let people bask in your radiance and sunshine." A reminder that wherever we are the Light of God goes with us, enfolding us and protecting us. It's true for everyone. No one has more value than another in God's sight. A favorite passage from A Course in Miracles for courage:
I am here only to be truly helpful.
I am here to represent Him Who sent me.
I do not have to worry about what to say or what to do,
because He Who sent me will direct me.
I am content to be wherever He wishes, knowing He goes
there with me.
I will be healed as I let Him teach me to heal.

Wishing you a joyful day with your Angels.
