After lunch today out today with my 95 year old mother, Elliot and I were taking her back to her retirement place in town. On the way, Mom sat in the backseat sharing an experience she recently had regarding an old hymn, Jesus Saves. This was a hymn she had sung as a child, but had forgotten all about it. Funny thing she heard it twice on two different programs last week.
Mom then shared that a minister recently said the most important verse in the Bible was Isaiah 41:10. It is on overcoming fear. He went on to say, remember this verse, and mark the date you learned about it in your Bible.
Not being familiar with Isaiah 41:10, I made a mental note to read it later. Minutes later, a white pickup truck pulled out in traffic.
I did a double take.
In bold letters on the driver's door was 41:10 inside a circle!
Mom, Elliot, and I laughed at the synchronicity.
At home, I read the passage in the Amplified Bible:
Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice."
As our country faces a possible government shut down tonight. In these times of change, it's good to take stock of where we are placing our faith in God or mammon?
Now is the time for quiet prayer and meditation to build a strong foundation of spiritual understanding.
Angels are with us always, and often speak in the language of synchronicity that God is Love.
Love and blessings,
