The Butterfly Bench - A Message from the Angels

I wanted a butterfly bench for my Mom's memorial garden in our backyard.  The first time I saw one was at the Norfolk Botanical Gardens in Virginia.  The colorful bench was in of all places the butterfly garden.  I sat down on the wings and enjoyed all the beauty surrounding me.  Butterflies are reminders of our own metamorphosis, I know.  How like the caterpillar, we, humans are destined for great heights, with great freedom.

Our butterfly bench had to be assembled. With  only five parts: two wings, the body, the seat, and the antennas, how hard could it be?  But when almost complete, the bench seat seemed to be the wrong size.  No matter how much we pushed and maneuvered, it wouldn't fit.  Almost out of patience and ready to pack it up and return to the company, an angel thought came: Was the butterfly's head facing the wrong direction?

That was the answer.  Once the head was turned around facing the right direction, everything else came together easily just as it should.

A reminder that things may appear to be simple and direct, but unless your looking in the right direction, the pieces won't mesh.

Enjoy your day with the Angels, and try to spend some time in nature, even if its simply noticing the trees and flowers while you go about your daily business.

Love and blessings,

Rae Karen
