A Camel Angel Message

                                                                 Life is like a camel:
                                                                 you can make it do
                                                             anything except back up.
                                                                 -- Marcelene Cox

I'm not so sure my grandmother Jessie in heaven didn't pick out this camel gift in a storefront window at Christmastime. She had a favorite old rock shaped like a camel's head that would serve as a door stopper. Beige in color, it resembled the face of a camel, complete with eyes, a nose, and a smile.

Camels are hardy creatures equipped to endure long treks across the desert. They represent perseverance and survival, carrying us through the dry barren patches of life. This morning I became aware of a greater significance of this animal and the role it played in the Bridegroom's visit in the ancient Hebrew marriage tradition. The Bridegroom must travel by camel to get his bride. He rides on the camel with an entourage of family and friends trailing behind him on foot. They make their way to the tent city of the bride whose family and friends are waiting to receive them. The groom dismounts from the camel and the ceremony begins.

This tradition takes us to a higher level as we see that God is the Bridegroom and comes to us across time and space. We are each the bride, and we only need to open up our hearts to receive Him.

Creating Space For Change

  Angels can fly because
   they take themselves lightly.
--G.K. Chesterton

I learned a new word this week. Minimalism. To live with less. Maybe you've heard of it. There's a documentary on Netflix that I have yet to watch on this subject, but the trailer sent me on a quest that stirred up the nest. It's the idea of living lighter by letting go of unnecessary stuff and keeping life simple. Anything that I didn't absolutely love, or haven't used in several years was gathered up. Before long, the car was loaded with boxes and bags of kitchen ware, knick'knacks, books, dishes, pots and pans, CD's, clothing, decorations, etc. I plowed through closets and cupboards so fast that Elliot's head spun as we drove to the local thrift shop.

Living lighter feels better; the house is more spacious and the stagnant energy that had collected in the corners was freed up. The Angels encourage us to lighten our load.

I've always heard the universe abhors a vacuum, so I shouldn't have been surprised when my friend called the next day. Did I want some free furniture from her office that was closing down? As tempting as it was, I declined. More or less, I am getting there day by day. What better time to clear out the old and make space to begin a new year by sharing with others.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Love is...

Early dawn this morning, a pink sky holds promise of a new day unfolding. A holy hush blankets the neighborhood, a stillness that speaks to my soul. Dark branches of towering trees silhouette the pastel canvas, as I pause to gaze out the window. The only sound is Angel cat snoring in a deep sleep tucked under the dining room table.

The soft glow from the little Christmas tree warms the room in cozy comfort.  In the quietude, I can feel the presence of the angels.

What is...is. And what is, is always good and always Love. Love is quiet and constant, it has no need to boast or brag of its Power. A silent knowing of absolute certainty there is no other power.

Let the world have its petty tyrants who seem to rule with iron clad fists.

In truth, gentleness holds greater power, like the water that naturally carves through a hard rock.

So, "fear not," the angels whisper, love will always prevail and we can always rejoice in a silent victory. Love can permeate and penetrate the hardest of hearts. Love will make a way.

Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud, it does not dishonor others, it is not self seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. ... It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. I Cor. 13:4-8 NIV

The Monrovia Star: An Angel Message

The glow of a big white Moravian star caught my eye at Lowe's. The last one on the decorations shelf, I grabbed the box, and joyfully moved to the checkout feeling the Christmas spirit.

After all, the Bethlehem Star had led the Magi to the babe in the manger and my own feet guided me to this big beautiful star as a reminder to keep following the Light no matter what.

The holiday glow faded a bit back at home.  Assembly was required to build the magnificent star;  26 large plastic rays needed to be snapped into a large grid orb.  What was needed most was patience to follow the directions step by step to create the symmetrical Star of Wonder.

At first, some of the star's rays snapped easily into the grid.  Then, others were more resistant. And, then there were those rebel rays that popped out of place as new rays were inserted!

 Rays were snapping and popping.

Elliot and I sat on the sofa, side by side, intently doing our light work, with the pile of rays waiting to be launched.  Humor set in as we fumbled with the unwieldy nova. My husband has the patience of Job, but I must say at one point, I popped, ready to return the Star for a refund.

Perseverance paid off.  We stuck to it, one ray at a time, and asked the angels for help.  It worked!  Within an hour the beautiful Moravian star was shining in the dining room window, and I had learned another lesson in light.

"A Light from on high
will dawn upon [us]...
to shine upon and give light to those who sit in
darkness and in the shadow
of death, to direct and
 guide our feet... into the
way of peace."
                                                                       Luke 1:78-79

Archangel Gabriel - The Winter Solstice

Today we welcome the Winter Solstice and Archangel Gabriel. He is the governor of the winter season and his name means God is my strength. Archangel Gabriel is the heavenly Annunciator who brings glad tidings of new life. He was the angel who announced to Mary the role she would play in birthing the Christ child. According to scripture, he also appeared to Zechariah announcing God's plan for his barren wife Elizabeth to conceive a baby. Their precious child would become the forerunner of Christ Jesus, the Light of the world.

Archangel Gabriel helps to stir a greater appreciation for the divinity within each of us as the angel of Love and Hope.

The winter solstice is a time to kindle our inner Light in spite of the outer darkness. By spending quiet time in contemplation and meditation we can awaken to our true divinity.

During this time of year the entire angelic hierarchy draws close to the earth, basking the world in rays of divine love. This outpouring brings an expansion of consciousness beyond the physical world for those who still their minds and attune to it.

Thank you, Archangel Gabriel.

Love and Joyful Blessings,

Rae Karen

An Angel Lesson: Unity of Light

My heart was feeling troubled over the state of our country and its dividing factions.  Red states, blue states which when blended harmoniously red and blue transform into purple, a spiritual color reflecting higher consciousness.   I was praying for peace and the words divine order came to mind.  Then I was shown a colorful strand of Christmas lights.  The bulbs although different in color: red, green, blue, orange, and white all were lighted by the same Source energy.  The light coursing through the unity of one cord was at the core of each reflection.  And so I could see how it truly is with humanity; on the exterior we may appear to have a different complexion but underneath the material projection is the Light that makes each of us glow in our own shade.  I was so thankful for this simple lesson.  And several days later, while waiting in line at Lowe's, there on the shelf was this package of multi colored lights that brought a smile.

I am beginning to see the more I stay plugged into the universal light, the higher consciousness can shine bright for miracles to abound.  The evergreen tree that holds the lights symbolizes eternal life and brings joy to the heart as we celebrate our spiritual identity.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

An Angel in the Atmosphere

During the blessed month of December, the angels draw closer to the Earth, spreading love and peace. You can feel their joyful presence in the air.  This morning a wonderful sign appeared in my email box.  A gift from a friend in England. His daughter had captured this amazing photo of the northern lights shining bright over Iceland.  A reminder perhaps to let our hearts grow warm as we open up to receive and share the gifts of divine love this month.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.
