Then Sunday morning my random angel card for the day was Discernment. Something was up. This card can stir up uneasiness; a fear of making a wrong turn and suffering the consequences along the way. To stop and yield to the wisdom of Spirit can prevent an ego joy ride down a road going nowhere. In truth, there is never an absolutely right way to go as every road traveled leads to a narrow pass where opportunities to learn lessons appear. And we ask, why'd the right road make the wrong turn?
I did some research to understand discernment.
"Absorbed in material selfhood we discern and reflect but faintly the substance of Life or Mind. The denial of material selfhood aids the discernment of man's spiritual and eternal individuality, and destroys the erroneous knowledge gained from matter or through what are termed the material senses." (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy)
Webster's Dictionary defines discernment: "keenness of insight; a power to see what is not evident to the average mind."
I wish you the Angel of Discernment so that at every moment you may know which way to go. When we come to a crossroads, we have to decide. Christ tells us to go through the narrow gate along the narrow road. (Matt. 7:13) The broad road is the road traveled by all.
"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
--Robert Frost
