Happy Birthday Rex!

(Rex and I visiting our Grandparents' farm)

My brother Rex is celebrating his birthday today. Growing up we didn't realize how his life would touch the lives of millions, bringing hope and light into the world. In the mid-90's, he began researching why people from all walks of life and from all religions were reporting direct contact with angels in unprecedented numbers. For the better part of a year, he and his film crew traveled the country compiling film footage for what would become a television documentary, Angels: The Mysterious Messengers aired on NBC.

In his book based on interviews from the film, Rex concludes: "But the angels do not call us to heaven. People are not giving themselves over to an esoteric notion, but rather are taking inspiration and responsibility for the shaping of their lives. It is a life that calls for vigilance and compassion and understanding and courage. I have been among these mysterious faithful who have cast their lot with their faith. And the work is being done. There are beings out there building a better world. And many of them are angels."

We thank you, Rex, for being one of them. Happy Birthday.

Love,

Karen

Guardian Angel Prayer

Christian prayer

(18th century rendition of a guardian angel)

I wanted to share this traditional Catholic prayer to one's guardian angel. It is so comforting to know that wherever we are or whatever we do, we are never alone. Our guardian angel joined us on this earthly sojourn and will not forsake us, no matter what. Our guardian angels know us better than we know ourselves. They inspire us with loving thoughts to help expand our awareness of ourselves.

So take a breath and go within allowing the presence of Divine Love to enfold you in perfect grace and harmony.

Angel of God, my guardian dear
to whom God's love commits me here.
Ever this day/night be at my side
to light, to guard, to rule and guide.
Amen.

In Latin:

Angele Dei,
qui custos es mei,
me, tibi commissum pietate superna,
illumina, custodi,
rege et guberna.
Amen.

For the Sake of Harmony: An Angel Message

In recent blogs, I've shared a keyword that keeps coming up for me. Harmony. I found this plaque a few days ago at Habitat for Humanity and put it in the sun room by the front door.

"Love is what binds us together in perfect harmony" A good reminder in my going out and my coming in that harmony is the key.

On Saturday while waiting in line at a department store, an irate customer stormed through the door, cutting in front of me at the service counter. Demanding a refund, he slammed his bag on the counter.

The sales girl recognized him from an earlier exchange when she had given him a store credit for a belt he had purchased. This new belt had also fallen apart. His bellowing brought the store manager and another sales clerk to help out. "Please lower your voice," she said. "This is not helping us resolve your issue."
"I want other customers to know! I'm never coming back here!"

I never heard anyone scream so loud in public. Silently, I asked Archangel Michael to be with us and called on the guardian angels of everyone present to help.

A mother and her toddler were also in line. My heart went out to the little girl. An idea came to me, to offer to pay for the belt that was less than $10. It seemed a small price to pay for the sake of harmony.

A funny thing happened as soon as I made the offer. The man calmed down and thanked me, saying, you don't have to do that.

Just knowing someone else cared, seemed to make all the difference. As I left the store, he and the sales people were working out a solution.

It's so hard to remember that all anger is a call for love. These are stressful times and love is the answer.

I love the words "In atmosphere of Love divine, we live, and move, and breathe." (Hymn 144 in the Christian Science Hymnal)

Enjoy your day with the angels and remember who you really are.

Perspective

I took this photo from the outside, looking in at the Bok Tower Welcome Center.

I took this one from inside the Welcome Center, looking out the same window as above. At the time I didn't intentionally plan on doing a blog, but when I uploaded the photos an idea came to me on perspectives.

The same site, two different perspectives of the same window, both equally true.

So often we speak of the same idea or thing... only our terminology is different. We are sharing an experience without understanding that our approach to the situation is not from the same vantage point. Although the view is quite different, the terrain is the same. One perspective is no more true than the other. Only in our personal description, it may seem radically different.

There is a way in which to harmonize the flow of communication that I've found most helpful and that is to silently ask the Holy Spirit for a holy relationship with the person to whom I'm speaking. The conversation takes on a higher consciousness and it is often the other person who escalates the exchange to higher ground. The Holy Spirit dwells within each mind and knows the best way to bring a touch of heaven to our relationships.

Enjoy your day with the Angels of Communication.

Blessings,

Karen

Share the Sunshine: An Angel Message

Birthdays are a time of special celebration and the presence of the angels seem more palpable. Last week on Elliot's birthday, he was suddenly inspired by the beautiful weather to take a road trip. The Angel of Spontaneity hurried us out the door, and we were heading for beautiful Bok Tower in Lake Wales. A 50-acre historical site on central Florida's highest point, known for its beautiful gardens and singing tower. Enclosed in the tower are 60 carillon bells, one weighing almost 12 tons. A perfect place for a musician to spend his birthday.

On the highway, we followed this truck:  SHARE THE SUNSHINE.

When we arrived at the gate, Bok Tower had just opened at 8 AM.  With the car windows rolled down, the heavenly fragrance of orange blossoms was intoxicating as we drove through orange groves. Off in the distance, high on a hill,  the 205' pink marble tower appeared like a spire from King Arthur's castle. Bok Tower is better than the Magic Kingdom, if you enjoy nature, music, and beautiful flowers and trees.

This lovely spot among the trees had once been an arid sand hill where Bok enjoyed taking evening walks to the top of "Iron Mountain" to enjoy the sunsets. An idea came to him to preserve the hilltop and create a bird sanctuary, a place of beauty and serenity. By doing so, he would also fulfill the advice of his Dutch grandmother.

"Make you the world a bit better or more beautiful because you have lived in it."

President Calvin Coolidge dedicated the Tower and Sanctuary in 1929. Since the Singing Tower is in a bird sanctuary, Florida birds such as the pelican, the flamingo, the heron, the goose and the swan are sculpted in a band that circles the Tower. Eagles are also part of the design, half way up, because the Singing Tower is a gift to the nation. Some of the greatest masters were commissioned by Bok to create this magnificent edifice. The dove, a symbol of Edward Bok's commitment to world peace recurs in many styles and material throughout the tower and gardens.

We were enjoying breakfast as we sat alone in the empty cafe that overlooks the beautiful gardens. A holy hush, a strong sense of peace surrounded me as I looked out on the flowers that morning.  Soft instrumental music made the atmosphere even more serene. I looked down by the napkin holder.  To my surprise, a small business card had been placed there.

"You were created in the image and likeness of God..."

It was an unexpected, loving reminder of what I've been trying to learn.  "I am made in the image and likeness of God." I joyfully laughed as if being touched on the shoulder.  Curious, I looked around to see if the card was on the other tables, but ours seemed to be the only one of choice.

I was so thankful for the angelic touches that help keep our focus on the Truth.  Everything begins with thought.  If only I can keep my mind on my true Identity as a spiritual idea in the Mind of God rather than a mortal of flesh and bones, then life can be experienced now as heaven on earth, and what joy to share the sunshine as a light of God.

My Grandmother, in the heavenly choir, no doubt was smiling as we listened to her favorite hymn played by the bells, How Great Thou Art.

Many blessings,

Rae Karen

Solar Flares - Effects on Consciousness

(NASA image shows the solar flare that sent a solar stream of charged particles heading toward Earth last week. NASA/AP)

When I learned about the solar storm charging toward Earth last Tuesday, I wondered what effect these high frequency charged particles would have on our consciousness. The news stated this was the biggest storm in five years, with the additional storms reaching their peak in 2013.

I did a little research on the web. Through our interconnectedness, everything effects everything else. This we know. While these particles can wreak havoc with the electro magnetic energy field of the Earth, causing disruptions in computer generated activities, there is a brighter side to this manifestation.

The Mayan calendar ends in 2012, which could indicate a wave of a new consciousness of being. With the influx of solar activity, our personal electro magnetic field is also being transformed. This higher frequency helps create the power of instant manifestation of thoughts...whatever we think we create instantly. I've noticed how these energies create a magnification of issues that need healing, bringing them up to the surface to be addressed. If we are harboring anger, fear, jealousy, our energy fields can weaken during solar activity.

God's thoughts passing to us, are His angels, guiding us to come up higher in our thinking. As we process our stuff, it is important to not get caught in the material illusion. Walk over it, but not in it or through it, making it more real than it is. The Holy Spirit's consciousness within you knows the Truth and will provide the translation into light when we still our minds and ask to see things differently. He will take every dark thought we share with Him and shine the Light on it, dispelling all the trouble. Love conquers everything. It is truly an exciting time to be alive, as I believe we are being birthed into a brand new way of being.

So take the storms lightly as they come and be thankful that you're made perfect in the image and likeness of God, nothing can ever be added or taken away from the perfection that you are in Spirit.

Blessings,

Karen

Angels--God's Thoughts

I want to share one of my favorite descriptions of angels with you today. Imagine how wonderful it could be if we lived Life with this thought ever present in mind.

"When angels visit us, we do not hear the rustle of wings, nor feel the feathery touch of the breast of a dove; but we know their presence by the love they create in our hearts. Oh, may you feel this touch,-it is not the clasping of the hands nor a loved person present; it is more than this: it is a spiritual idea that lights your path!

The Psalmist saith: "He shall give His angels charge over thee." God gives you His spiritual ideas, and in turn, they give you daily supplies. Never ask for tomorrow: it is enough that divine Love is an ever present help; and if you wait, never doubting, you will have all you need every moment.

What a glorious inheritance is given to us through the understanding of omnipresent Love! More we cannot ask: more we do not want: more we cannot have. This sweet assurance is the "Peace, be still" to all human fears, to suffering of every sort."
(Mary Baker Eddy, founder of Christian Science)

May our understanding of the magnitude of God's Love increase today.

Many blessings,

Karen

On Becoming Anew: An Angel Message

I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't go back to sleep. In my mind I kept hearing, "Behold, I will do a new thing now. I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." I recognized the Bible verse from Isaiah in my weekly lesson.

Hearing those affirming words, I become energized as I began to really take hold of and own God's promise. I was reminded that "with God all things are possible." As I laid in bed, in the dark, I could see the outline of the old camphor tree outside. I felt such a sense of promise and fullness, soon I fell back to sleep.

In the light of a new day, as I write, I can see more plainly that this sacred tree is an example of how God works, in time. What a radical change in identity... from a tiny hard seed laying in the darkness, it has grown into a towering citadel offering food and shelter to the birds and squirrels.

The birthing process seems strange, but is essential to becoming all that God intended us to be. Pushing upward toward the Light, we expand anchoring our roots deep into the earth while exploring a brand new world in higher consciousness. It truly is exciting to be alive in Christ. To be open to the infinite possibilities and ready to flow in a totally different and exciting paradigm. To make rivers in the desert or a path in the wilderness, are major transformations. Where there seemed to be no way, one will appear. We only need to trust and let go, knowing that we are in the company of God's loving angels. With the Holy Spirit, we cannot help but succeed.

This morning I watched a flock (over 30 red breasted robins) feeding on the many black berries from the camphor tree. I wondered what the robins symbolized. There were so many.

In Angel Messages, The Oracles of the Birds, I learned, "The joyful notes of the robin's song signify confiding trust, triumph, and happiness in love, and when it comes to you, as well as these things it brings a merciful burying and laying-to-rest of old problems, old conflicts, old issues, and old selves which need to be declared dead and buried. That your life path is clear for forward movement; the red breasted robin offers itself as a guide, bearing before you a light from the angels to quicken the speed of your journeying soul."

Many blessings to you as you become more than you know.

As Birds Flying...

A coughing spell caused me to leave church early not to disrupt the Sunday service. I went out to the car and sat by an old tree in the parking lot. Elliot was in church and so I was content to be in the stillness processing my seeming condition. If I am made in the image and likeness of God, then why I am not completely well? Obviously there was more inner work to do.

I closed my eyes to pray in gratitude that I was still as God created me no matter what my mortal mind was telling me. Afterwards, I looked up at the side of the church. My attention was drawn to an open window on the second floor.

How strange that I had never noticed it before. Even more strange, I thought an owl was perched on the windowsill.

An owl? I looked again. Although it was not real, fake feathers ruffled in the breeze to ward off unwanted visitors.

I smiled... owl represents wisdom. It seemed like a reminder for me to be more vigilant for my own negative thoughts that trespass into my mind. The idea was to keep a higher watch for Truth, to think God's thoughts and not my own.

Elliot soon came out to check on me. We sat in the car and he read the first page of our weekly Bible lesson. Suddenly a flock of white birds appeared, flying in formation above the church. Doves circled the church twice against a blue sky. If only I had my camera, but the memory was a sacred one. I could feel the presence of God's Love in that moment.

To my delight, birds continued to be angelic messengers for me. On Monday when I stopped by the Christian Science Reading Room to get my monthly Bible lesson, for some reason I found myself sitting on the floor going through an old box of pamphlets. I laughed when I came across one entitled, "As birds flying," an article published in a Christian Science Journal in the 50's. I was thankful for being guided.

Curious, I looked inside.

"Through Christian Science a spiritual realm of ideas is revealed when thought soars joyous, fearless, and free, expressing or reflecting the dominion, the power, and the presence of divine Love, or Principle.

Mark Baker Eddy wrote in her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures", under the subheading "Soaring aspirations" (pp. 511,512) "The fowls which fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven, correspond to aspirations soaring beyond and above corporeality to the understanding of the incorporeal and divine principle, Love."

The next day I received another surprise in the mail. My friend Debra gifted me with a beautiful handmade porcelain dove necklace and earrings she had bought on a trip to Nova Scotia. The emblem reminded her of the Holy Spirit. I got goosebumps reading the craftsman's card on birds:

"Birds play a prominent role in Celtic legend. As symbols of freedom and transcendence, they represent the human soul in flight, liberated from earthly ties, able to soar in spiritual communication with the heavens. Returning to earth, they bring messages of prophecy and guidance, aiding mortals on their spiritual and earthly sojourns. As spirits of the air, they provide a link between the soul and the spiritual forces of heaven."

I love the birds. If you would like to explore more on their symbolism, you may want to read Angel Messages, The Oracles of the Birds by Claire Nahmad.

Enjoy your day with the Angels and let your thoughts soar above materiality into that celestial realm of divine Love.

Blessings,

Karen

Angel of Harmony

My good friend Debra gifted me with an angel coin several years ago. I tucked the Angel of Harmony into my wallet and soon forgot all about it. I love music but I'm not much of a singer. Harmony meant singing on key and since I had to lip synch in the 3rd grade chorus to blend in... harmony seemed like an unattainable goal for me.

Then recently I found the harmony angel coin buried at the bottom of my change purse. I saw harmony with fresh eyes because I'd been working with the idea of harmony and how all things work together harmoniously. Now instead of thinking about harmony just in relation to music, I realized I'd come to a whole new appreciation for how it can improve my everyday actions. By trying to stop and think before speaking or acting, I silently ask, Is this staying in harmony? Or am I being disruptive? I find that I have more peace by not reacting to every little nuisance.

After all, the law of harmony is in effect with the planets, the sun, the moon. Harmony relates to everything being in its proper right place at the right time.
The Angel of Harmony can teach the art of living harmoniously with yourself. If you are in tune with yourself, you can create harmony around you. You let each part of you have its own sound, so that everything is in agreement. By staying harmonious, we can stay attuned to the angelic messages that inspire us and clear the way for brighter days.

Blessings,

Karen

To Everything There is a Season

I love flea markets and second hand shops because the Angels can get creative, guiding me to unusual treasures. My heart leapt when I found this plaque recently at an antique store called Somewhere in Time. I chuckled, what better place to find this particular Bible quote: "To every thing there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven." (Ecc. 311)

It's so helpful to remember that seasons come and go. Things do not remain the same. There is a rhythm and a purpose for each. Sometimes it may feel like a troubling situation will never change, but of course deep down I know that I'm the one who needs changing.

Recently I learned about God's Law of Adjustment. When we accept and can understand and declare that the law of God is present and is in operation, we bring into power and action of God. This can be applied to any discordant belief in which we are confronted. By saying, God's law is present and in operation, we have done all that is necessary to dissolve any manifestation of error, or wrong thinking. We have surrendered the problem to a higher Authority.

I am learning that the Law of Adjustment is the universal law of Love, which brings blessings to all. It doesn't take from one and give to the other. It does not withhold under any circumstances but is ready and waiting to operate in our lives as soon as we make the invitation and set our own human will aside. (That's the hard part.)

When we can surrender, a comforting sense of peace and joy follows because we are allowing God to control all the events for us through His Law of Adjustment. By giving up our frightened sense of things and letting the divine Mind take charge, then we can see how "all things work together for good to them that love God."

All discord comes from our ego mind, whether it takes the form of sickness, guilt, annoyance, fear or trouble of any kind. When we give up our personal perception even when we believe we are right, we find the law of God is ready...and active in making the right adjustments of everything involved.

So the angels today are whispering, Relax and Let God. Now that is truly burden-free living.

Many blessings,

Karen

Love...a Journey

Angel messages pop up when we need them most. While shopping downtown I saw this message in a storefront window, Love: A Journey that has no end. A gentle reminder about what's really important. No matter what's going on in life, Love is what our sojourn is all about. Are we doing a love walk, seeing only good for good is there? Or are we so busy judging that we are blinded to the underpinnings of Love's wings enfolding every action? When I downloaded this picture, I had to smile at the light reflecting off the mirror. In truth, we can only reflect God's perfection as we are His spiritual children made in His image and likeness.

Admittedly some days I do better than others, but the test is to try to come up higher. Today may you be filled with the Holy Spirit and move and breathe in an atmosphere of God's Love.

Many blessings,

Karen
