Eeee-yore: Are you Willing? An Angel Message

Our neighborhood donkey family has a new member... This sweet little baby eagerly pranced to the fence for love pats. The touch of his white furry head and those big innocent eyes made the moment special.

When the pics were uploaded, because of the bright sunlight, I'd managed to get only a close up of his big brown eye.   A message--to watch my will.  It's our personal will that gets us up and moving in the right direction.  We may know something, but it's only through our willingness to act that we will reach a goal.  The angels remind us there are two wills:  the ego-will and the divine-will.

When you encounter a donkey, reflect on your will and how it relates to your motivation. The ego always speaks first and is the loudest. Often stubborn and headstrong.  This ego-will represents the lesser energy and results in a short-lasting achievement. Our ego's wishes can put up a roadblock to divine will.  Motivation and intent are the inner way, and harmonize with a person's true knowledge and good conscience.  The soul, with its will, always directs itself according to the divine plan.  If you really listen deeply to your heart, you'll be able to tell what is right and fitting for you.  By keeping inner harmony in your consciousness, you will go along your road step by step.

And, no donkey angel blog would be complete, without a friendly nod, a word from our wise, loving friend at the Orchid Farm.  Allahambra.  Listen and obey.  Love always makes a way.

Have a peaceful day, and listen to your heart before stepping forward.

Love and peace,

Rae Karen

Happy Allahambra: An Angel Message

A lowly donkey carried Mary, and her unborn babe to the little town of Bethlehem.  In a manger, the world received the greatest gift, the baby Jesus, the Light of the World.

Today Elliot and I paid a visit to our favorite Jerusalem donkey at the orchid farm.  To our delight, his territory had greatly expanded and he stood in a green pasture, with plenty of grass to eat. Allahambra's ears perked at the sign of carrots, a favorite treat.

He could hardly finish chewing one carrot stick, when he eagerly looked up for more with his mouth full.

Have you ever seen a more loving face?

Turns out, he has a fan club.  We had hardly said our goodbyes, when another couple approached with a bag of carrots, calling out his name.

Donkey brings a message to be wise, but humble in a new opportunity.  People are noticing you, so you do not need to promote yourself.

And, so he was.

May your holidays be filled with joy, peace, family, and good friends.  And, remember to invite your angels to join you in your festivities during this holy season.

The Grass is Always Greener: An Angel Message

On the last visit to the E.F.G. Orchid Farm, I finally met up with the family's heavyweight pet pig who freely roams the property, eating to her heart's content!   In all the years Elliot and I have been visiting the beautiful orchid farm, with its coi filled lily pond, and beautifully landscaped property, I had yet to meet the prized resident.

As a child, mom had a large pet pig, she named Susanna. As you can see, that sweet old pig wouldn't let anything interfere with grunting down for chow, not even Kitty the cat who wanted a piggyback ride on the farm.

This month at the Orchid Farm, I was approaching another unlikely pair to break up a food scuffle.  They were going nose-to-nose over a clump of green grass growing by the fence.  I called out,  Now you two be nice and share. There is enough for all.  Both animals stopped and gave me a look that seemed to say, Who made you the boss?

Later while working on the angel blog,  I looked at their photo and the contrast in their lifestyles, an old adage came to me:  The grass is always greener on the other side.

It means that the things other people have or their situations always look better than your own, even when they are not really so.

For fun, I looked up the spiritual symbolism for pig.  Having a fattened pig is a bringer of good luck and symbolizes prosperity, wealth, and abundance.  Another message the pig brings, if it shows up in your life, is to take time to examine your masculine and feminine energies, and become aware of your piggish nature.  A normal trait for humans, but the inner work is to curb our whole hog voracious appetites and become more balanced in our willingness to give and take.

Donkey fulfills the role of beast of burden by taking the responsibility and burden of others.  A donkey is also symbolic of determination, dedication to work, versatility, and will power.  When a donkey appears on your path, it may be a sign to ignore the uproar around you and instead focus on what goes on deep within.  This allows you to ground yourself, and assess the plans and decisions you need to take in life.  Follow your instincts.

The angels remind us that no matter where we find ourselves, it is a perfect place to learn our soul lessons.  The problem is never the problem, it is the attitude or reaction toward the problem that is the problem.  And expect good and happy things to come to you today.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Love and joyful blessings,

Stubborn Will and the Donkey Message: An Angel Message

Remember last week, Elliot and I took a wrong turn on our way to visit our favorite donkey?  The good news was we saw two rainbows that Sunday on the road to and from St. Augustine.

Then on January 2, while reading, stretched out on the sofa in the sun room, I dozed off and woke up to a beautiful spiral rainbow shimmering high in the sky across the street.  I was so thankful to have taken down the curtain toppers last week, or I would have missed the angelic message.  Rainbows are a sign of God's promise, and should not be taken lightly.

Yesterday, we decided to start the new year by visiting Alahambre, the sweet, loving donkey.  A cool, sunny Sunday, the rural ride through the country-side was expansive, and freeing.

Since our last visit I'd been praying about a situation.  At that time, the strong-willed donkey had a grooming issue.  There were so many little brown burrs on his matted body--much more than usual.  Like tiny porcupine balls, they clung to his long smooth snout, furry ears, and cross-striped back.  One little burr, was close to his eye.

Thankfully,  I was able to free that sticker, but  the rest were far too many to tackle, and painful to remove.   Before leaving that day, Elliot and I had mentioned the burryful burrow to his kind owner, who told us, he brushed the donkey every night, but Alahambre liked to roll around on the ground.

Obviously something had to give, but how, I wondered.

Having compassion for our four-legged friend, since then, I'd been asking the angels for help, hoping that the fenced area would be cleared of the troublesome vegetation.  I even thought about volunteering to help out.

But, it seems I need not have worried.   To my delight, the angels had been at work.

I could hardly believe my eyes as we approached the burrow's fenced in area.  Alahambre's entire  home had been through a major clearing! Large mounds of sticky bush debris were in a heap.

My heart leaped with gratitude, but where was our donkey friend?  He was not there.

Looking farther down the land, what joy to see that feisty donkey.  He had moved to a new location! In the shade of stand of tall trees, he stood by the fence, next door to his two emu neighbors.

His ears perked and he stared wide-eyed as our feet crossed the grassy field toward him.  Suddenly an ear piercing, but familiar welcoming bray filled the air. The owner, working nearby looked up, surprised by such an arousing raucous salute from his burrow.  He grinned.

Across the fence, I reached out to pat the Jerusalem donkey.  His brown furry ears flapped, as he bellowed in a wailing high-pitched crescendo, followed by a powerful snort that expelled a blast of misty air from those powerfully large nostrils.

Wiping my face, I smiled, happy for him and for his new residence.

Such a public display of affection is hard to resist.  That little burrow is packed with love, but then he calms down, ready to receive a soothing word of encouragement, and a soft love pat on his head.

One thing for sure, you absolutely know that he is glad to see you.   That you make a difference.

Imagine what would happen if we were as demonstrative in our affection. If we greeted each person we care for as though we were happy to be in their presence.  If we put down our smart phones, and really listened and looked at that special friend or family member, thankful for the special moment.

Elliot and I walked on to the fish pond and sat on a bench by the water's edge.

When I looked back,  Alahambre had followed the fence as far as he could, showing us that he still had access to his old lot that had been generously cleared.  He had doubled his space!

Soon it was time to say good-bye.  After a friendly pat or two, with a fond farewell, he brayed before shuffling on down the fence toward his new pad.  I was thankful for that donkey's lesson on both love and will.

The donkey reminds us of our will.   To willfully keep doing the same thing over and over again, and expect different results is the energy of stubborn will.  The soul's will is the energy that makes the steps possible.  By really listening to your heart, you will be able to tell what is right for you.  Our Spirit will always direct us toward the divine plan.  Love will make a way.  Never underestimate the power of prayer.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Joyful blessings,

Rae Karen

A Call for Love: An Angel Message

Sometimes a drive out in the country helps to clear your head.  The daily news takes its toll even if you try to keep it at a small dose.  Prayer and meditation are important.  Another remedy can be helpful.   Step away, and be still.  Do something different.  Take a break from your problems and just be, thankful.

Yesterday afternoon, Elliot and I stopped by the rural orchid farm to say hello to our donkey friend.  Sometimes things run hot; other times, cold, or just plain lukewarm.  I'll admit when Alahambre came to see us at the fence, some of my old fears had returned.  His enormous mouth, big teeth and steady gaze made me a little uneasy.

Elliot stepped right up and reached over the fence, patting the burrow, and talking lovingly.  When he was done,  I held back, not trusting.

His enormous face turned my way.  With big brown eyes he seemed to say, "Now it's your turn."
I looked at him and had to smile.  His loving spirit was so eager and open, before long I was stroking his brow, and whispering sweet words as I gently picked the sticky burrs off his back.

A funny thing happened as I was walking toward the purple lotus pond to see the Koi fish.  He kept pace with me, walking along the other side of a wire fence.  As I moved away from him, I heard one of those painfully long woeful HEE-HAWS!

His call was so loud that it shattered the serenity of the orchid farm.

I turned to see him.

What a heartbreaking call for LOVE.  With nostrils flared, ears pinned back, baring his front teeth, he was in high-gear.

It may seem strange to say what I felt in that moment.  My heart melted.  He really does love me!  I thought, in amazement, wondering why.

What could I do, but return to the fence, reach out, and answer the Call for Love.  I gave  him another warm friendly "I love you, too" pats on the head.  And, all was well.

LOVE is the answer.

Is there someone who needs a LOVE pat from you today?

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Love and joyful blessings,

Rae Karen
