Many years ago I recall an angel thought out of the blue:
Go to The Goodwill Thrift shop and you'll find a book you need right away.
Out of curiosity, I obeyed.
Dr. Wayne W. Dyer's book, Change Your Thoughts--Change Your Life, (Living the Wisdom of the Tao), was on the shelf. A helpful book I'd read years before and passed it on. But, I found myself opening it up: These words jumped off the title page page...
"Just be with What Is."
I stared at the message, scrawled in pencil and underlined for emphasis.
... feeling an admonition. I'd been wishing away a longstanding issue without really dealing with the heart of the matter. Frustrated, angry, and tired...it seemed like I was caught in an endless cycle.
I glanced down at the page, another penciled note:
"Allow an irritant not to vanish, but allow it to be what it is."
I was grateful for the advice...as it helped me shift my perception of looking at difficult things not as a punishment but as a gift, a blessing to grow in my spirit. By changing my thoughts, my life changed, and I had more peace moment to moment.
With all the chaos in our world today, over the weekend this message resurfaced in an amusing way.
Maybe you've noticed it's our most cherished ideals that are often the target of "just be with what is". Lately my little butterfly garden has been my therapy, creating a space of beauty and peace... a means to escape from the media and root around in the dirt. Well, when the sandhill crane family came by, young junior decided to dig for insects in my flower pots. My prized new purple Angelonia, the one named Archangel, had been tossed on the ground.
I did my best to reason with this lovable juvenile crane that was taller than his mother. He stopped long enough to stare blankly through me, with puzzled golden eyes. Respecting his long, sharp beak, I moved on, choosing peace. After all, the flowers could be potted again.
But Junior wasn't quite finished with tending the garden.
Later, I heard that while I was at the market, that animated long-legged crane had picked up the little American flag from a flower pot. Waving the flag stick,The Stars and Stripes fluttered back and forth from his beak. That would have made a great photo...
Interesting symbology, an Archangel purple angel plant, a young sandhill crane guardian, and the American flag could be a message for America. At a tumultuous time in our history when old traditions and values are being uprooted, and hidden darkness is coming to light, take heart. America will be replanted in new soil...based on life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for all its people. An interesting note is Sandhill cranes are known to be guardians because they trumpet a loud warning to claim their territory.
I'm thankful for the heads-up. Just be with what is doesn't mean to bury our head in the sand. But look and dispel the illusion. Go within to seek and find all the spiritual support available to create a better tomorrow. The truth is that It is what is...is a changeless Reality -- the harmony of God's perfect universe, spiritual not material.
I had an interruption while writing Just be with what is... so I unplugged my laptop and moved to a quieter space...only to find the computer screen had frozen up. Oh...too funny... the timing... Just be with what is...I quietly shut the laptop and went to have lunch... After lunch, all systems were Go.
Aren't we blessed to live and move and have our being in God... The best is yet to be.
Love and blessings,
Rae Karen
