A Stitch in Time: An Angel Message

This has been the hottest summer...too hot to go out and get the mail after lunch. Sunday evening, when the severe heat somewhat dropped, a ride to the mailbox turned up empty. But a drive along the back-road to the lake turned up a special delivery, free for the taking.

At a stop sign, I spotted a curious suitcase parked on the grass at the end of the street. The case was opened and I got out to take a look.  A vintage Domestic sewing machine was on display.  The old machine appeared to be in good condition.  With a T-storm in the forecast, we hauled it away to donate to the Angel Thrift Shop.

It's not everyday you come across a free sewing machine, and the timely coincidence seemed to be an angel message. Sew be it, I laughed, as we hauled it into the backseat.

A black box of  Attachments had industrial needles for extra heavy material.  Just as a needle pulls thread through fabric, God pulls us through our trials and we learn resilience.   Each stitch has a purpose, and so do we.  God has given us unique talents and abilities to create, restore, and uplift those around us.

Sew be it.  Every stitch, every fabric tells a story.  Stitches come together to create a beautiful outcome.  When we sew spiritually, we attach ourselves to God's plan for our life.

No matter what age we live in or how old we are, may we be ready to stitch together love, kindness, and grace as we journey side by side, united in God's loving purpose.  A stitch in time.

Love and peace,

Rae Karen
