A rare drum-roll caught my attention early this morning. I recognized the steady beat of an enthusiastic woodpecker. He was next door, atop the old wooden utility pole doing the woodpecker drill. His crested red-head hammering away--a new rhythm to start the day.
When a woodpecker shows up to drum out a song for you, you may ask yourself:
Am I looking at aspects of my life rationally?
Are others not discriminating in their activities? Am I?
Am I and others jumping into situations without thinking it out clearly?
Sometimes a woodpecker's appearance will stimulate new rhythms. Maybe you're neglecting the physical, by being too wrapped up in mental and spiritual activities. It could reflect a need to drum some new changes into your life. When a woodpecker shows up, there's a firm foundation to follow your own rhythm and flight. You now have a firm foundation to move in any direction. Do what works for you in the manner that is best for you. Discernment is the key.
When faced with change, it's comforting to know that we are never alone. God has given his angels charge over us. The best is yet to be when we listen and obey. God is Love.
