Sometimes you may come across something you didn't realize you needed until you caught sight of it. Often it makes little sense but to your soul it calls out an angel message. Look and see...
Last year in the midst of many challenges, a one-of-a-kind camel caught my attention in a big way at the Saturday morning market in town. It towered above the vendor tables, standing tall in the sunlight. I laughed at the enormous size as I hurried to get a closer look. The size of the camel was a heads-up indication of the endurance I needed while going through a stormy season on the home-front.
It represented a super-duper spiritual vitamin. The friendly vendor offered a bargain at $35. Sold. What a sight as Elliot and I carried the long-legged hump-back to our car and transported it home. The camel took up residence in my den. A big reminder, a promise of endurance, as I looked up from my desk during the day. The clock ticking away. He stood over time. His nose, a little scuffed, and his weathered-look strengthened his message. He was still standing tall as time passed by.
A camel, built six-feet off the ground, is a wonderful symbol of endurance. Sturdy, wide feet can navigate over the sifting sands to deliver merchandise, provisions from afar. Three sets of eyelids and two sets of eyelashes, shield it from sand storms, and it can close up its nose for protection. Rugged, they can travel 40 m.p.h. with up to 1,000 pounds on their backs. Enormous energy is stored in the hump. Can you imagine drinking 30 gallons of water in ten minutes?
My Grandma had an old rock-shaped like a camel's head. She used it to prop open her kitchen door. When she passed on, I wanted the camel rock as a remembrance stone of her strong faith. She had been through many tragedies but never lost hope in Christ.
The camel has a glass is half-full philosophy. Stay positive and the difficulty will
pass. Camels can travel far distances with little water, like desert ships they deliver the goods. When a camel appears it often indicates
that while the journey ahead may be difficult, we will endure and will
have the "waters" necessary to be successful and share provisions with others.
Life is like a camel:
you can make it do
anything except back up.
anything except back up.

Enjoy today, and remember you are never alone. God has given his angels charge over you. You have an inner-strength to see you through. A gift of endurance.
