The Little Pencil in the Hand of God

The greatest fulfillment is in doing God's will.
We do not have to do great things,
only small things with great love.
We do not have to be extraordinary in any way.
I can do what you can't do and you can do what I can't do.
Together we can do something beautiful for God.
We can be the little pencil in the hand of God.
                  -- Mother Teresa of Calcutta

Many years ago, I found these comforting words while on break at my new job. A small sheet of paper on a bulletin board in the snack bar caught my eye.  I took the message to heart as I stood still reading.  I had left behind everything familiar--home, career, friends, family, my cat, and moved to a new state to work on an angel documentary.

"Small things with great love" calmed my anxiety about completing the assignment. I was embracing a new life that involved a learning curve-- navigating around an unfamiliar busy city, and tackling a new software application in a new field of film production.  Mother Teresa's wisdom was timely. I relaxed in the moment, slowing down and accepting that love is the essential ingredient in success. "Small things with great love..."

And, as it turned out, the little things done with divine love became stepping stones to unfolding God's creativity as we all harmoniously worked together.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.  And please remember that help is all around you, seen and unseen.  Just allow your heart to remain open and do what you can to the best of your ability with LOVE...and, the outcome will be truly beautiful.

Joyful blessings,

Rae Karen
