Movement: A Horse Angel Message for 2016

Yesterday afternoon Elliot and I took a ride through the country on our way to an exotic orchid warehouse.  An angel thought had nudged me, take your camera.  I was glad that I had listened.

Elliot spotted these two horses along the way. "Here's your photo op!"  He smiled. I tried to take a picture from the car window, but the mesh fence got in the way.  I love horses, but they scare me up close. Standing by the fence, I began zooming in from a safe distance, sending them love.  "You are so beautiful.  I love you.  God loves you."

I couldn't quite get a good photo. Then I remembered the angels and asked for help.

I shouldn't have been surprised by what happened next. The beautiful brown and white pinto turned around, and came trotting forward with a bounce in his step!

I gulped, but stood still.  Having sent love, I now needed to welcome it.   I could feel my emotions shift from fear to love and I kept greeting my new friend, (with a little false bravado).

He seemed to sense my need and soon hung his head over the fence and just let me love him.  I found myself brushing back his long bangs so he could see more clearly.  I rubbed his forehead and stroked his smooth face.  I caught a glimpse of oneness as we looked at each other, eye to eye (not four legged to two-legged), but in a union of spirit. His radiant brown eyes held ancient wisdom and strength and I could feel my heart being blessed by our exchange.  And then we parted, each heading in our own direction.

Back on the road, I was surprised by a strange welling up in my chest, a lump in my throat.  Something deeper had happened that I couldn't explain, but I was moving forward with a greater love and appreciation for all Life.

Later I learned that horse brings with it a message of new journeys and new balance, suggesting it's time to travel and discover the different wonders of life.  Horse teaches us how to ride forward into a new direction to discover our own freedom and power.  Whenever a horse shows up, there will be movement.

Happy trails to you all and all the best in the New Year!  May we all move forward toward the gift of love.

Love and joyful blessings,

Butterfly Girl: An Angel Message

Christmas time brings out my inner child during the joyful holiday season.  Elliot and I stopped in a local furniture store on Christmas Eve. This artwork ended up being a present to myself.   The little girl in the innocence of nature warmed my heart.  I could relate to her quiet resolve to pick a bouquet of yellow flowers. Yellow butterflies circle round as she gathers her tender gift fully present in the now.

Have a joyful day with the Angels.

African Iris: An Angel Message

                                      African Iris in bloom 12-23-15

Our unseasonably warm weather brought an unexpected advent gift from Mother Nature this morning.  This single African Iris caught me by surprise as its cheerful appearance brightened up a cloud covered day.

The message an iris brings is a new birth is at hand so maintain hope.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

White Christmas: An Angel Message

                                                   (Angel in the Holiday Spirit)

I woke up in the middle of the night to Kenny G playing White Christmas on his saxophone. "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas," sleepily I smiled at the synchronicity, having just been awakened from a dream. The music wafted through the bedroom.

I knew our Kenny G Christmas CD had come on with the help of Angel cat. Earlier that evening she had activated the "on" mechanism with her touch by landing on the sound system in the dining room.

Angel was our midnight DJ.

Listening to the lilting melody, a touch of Christmas magic filled the night as I was reminded of another special angel, Archangel Gabriel who blew his own horn earlier in the evening to welcome the Winter Solstice.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Love and joyful blessings,

Happy Winter Solstice - 2015- Welcome Archangel Gabriel

                                              (Wikimedia Commons)

Happy Winter Solstice!

Welcome Archangel Gabriel. Late tonight, he takes the helm from Archangel Michael. The autumn season has been a time of purification and letting go. Now under Angel Gabriel's charge, (whose name means God is My Strength), it is a sacred time to birth more Light into our lives.

The Winter Solstice begins as the sun turns northward.  In the northern hemisphere, it marks the shortest day of the year--with the sun shining longer each day thereafter until the Summer Solstice on June 21st (the longest day of the year). This sojourn is symbolic of our own inward opportunity to kindle our inner Light and watch it shine more brightly each day.  It is a wonderful time to be still and go within by meditating, practicing the Presence, quietude in nature, or just being still in gratitude for the gift of spirit.

All life feels the touch of the Divine Love energies playing both within and upon the Earth. The veil between the physical and spiritual realm is thin, making communion with the celestial beings more accessible.  As Archangel Gabriel delivered the good news to Mary about her worthiness to be chosen to birth the beloved Jesus, this Angel of Hope and Love, comes into our presence offering the same invitation on a spiritual level.  We can give birth to the Christ babe within the manger of our mind, if we create the space.

Look for the star of your Bethlehem to guide you in Christ and celebrate your new birth.

Love and joyful blessings,

Rae Karen

A Reflective Moth: An Angel Message

Yesterday morning  I saw a little brown moth on the mirror above the sink. Moths, like butterflies, are ancient symbols of change.

Her appearance blended in with Gandhi's famous quote on the wall beneath the mirror: BE THE CHANGE THAT YOU WISH TO SEE IN THIS WORLD.

Her brownish wings were open as she gazed into the looking glass.  Playfully I imagined her words,  Who am I...really?

A moth emerging from a cocoon reflects the final stage of development.  A new birth is occurring.  What was hidden inside, is now appearing in the outer world.  Talents, gifts,  etc. A moth is a hopeful sign of fulfillment.

My "winged one" was the second angel messenger on transformation. An Angelic Messenger card CHANGE had been my card of choice at bedtime the previous night.  Turning out the light, I didn't bother reading the message.

Now, in the morning, taking a hint from Miss Moth, I  read the angelic message on CHANGE.

The challenge of change is:  "Accepting that your larger goal is to grow in grace and find union with all living things."

Remembering the little moth, I continued on:

"You may be weary of challenging life and long to have things flow more easily toward love and success.  You may have spent years learning a spiritual discipline or just starting out on a spiritual path.  This card indicates that you are facing a subtle but powerful spiritual challenge, one requiring you to trust your belief in the God within and to allow the beauty and intensity of this correction to smooth your path in the physical world."

Since everyone I know is going through a change of some sort during these challenging times, I read on:

Change, when lived as a sacred process portends spiritual transformation.  All levels of change, no matter how slight or how deeply penetrating or disruptive, have something to show you about your belief in the wisdom of your teachers, masters, and the angelic messenger who sweep through your daily lives.   Change wakes you up to life as the spiritual process that it is.  Change is different from chance because change is intended to bring you continually closer to God, while chance is the purely random movement of physical energy."

"...Your spirit is tireless in its loving support and prodding of your life in order to help you move out of your own way so you can find the love you seek."  (Angelic Messenger Cards, Meredith L. Young-Sowers)

The angels draw near to heal fear, pain, or anxiety that separate you from loving yourself as a divine aspect of the Godforce.  Your heart urges you to give, share, cooperate, love and honor other living things because these are the qualities offered by an awakened spirit.

And, just in case, I didn't get the other two messages, a third appeared this morning when I drew the TRANSFORMATION Angel Card.

So dear friends, take heart, all the changes that we are going through will ultimately be rewarded as we grow in Spirit. In the meantime, just keep on asking the angels for help, and looking for ways to share your love with the world.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Love and joyful blessings,

Rae Karen

P.S.  Just now while typing this up, a small white moth fluttered above the keyboard!  Change is in the air!

Angels by the Sea

It's fun when traveling to ask the angels for help in finding the perfect photos needed.  The spirit of Christmas was in the air at St. Augustine Beach yesterday. Way out in the ocean, I thought I was seeing things when I spotted a red stocking cap in the surf. Zooming in with the magnification lens, it was a surfer in a Santa cap.   Tis the season to be jolly...I laughed.

Uploading the photos later,  I was amused to see him like an expectant elf paddling out to ride the big waves.

The next day, a photo op didn't look promising before sunrise. A   light drizzle confirmed the weather forecast for rain today.

It's not everyday you're at the beach so Elliot and I hurried down to the empty shore hoping for a sunrise.

Before long, the sand, the surf, and the sea were diffused in a soft glow of pink.

And, the sun made a glorious debut, rising up to crown the day with Light.   Like most things, if we can keep moving forward in joy, expecting the best, it will happen, eventually.  But like that dedicated surfer, we have to be willing to paddle out to meet it.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Love and joyful blessings,

Rae Karen

Star of Bethlehem: An Angel Message

Star of Bethlehem (Edward Burne-Jones)
Wikimedia Commons

I want to share an experience I had several years ago regarding a star at Christmas time.  After reading Christ and Christmas, a picture book by Mary Baker Eddy, the seven pointed Star of Bethlehem emblazoned on the cloth bound antique book made me want to find a similar star to keep as a symbol of the ever present Christ Light throughout the year.

A search began at the stores, but I couldn't find what I was looking for.  Rather than be discouraged,  I returned home, knowing the angels would  guide me. Something was up--because that afternoon's mail brought a National Geographic catalog, and we didn't subscribe to the magazine. Turning the pages, I found a beautiful clear glass Moravian Star, handcrafted in a stained-glass studio in Nazareth, Pennsylvania! It represents the Star of Bethlehem with its many points.

But more was to come. That night a star appeared.  It woke me up, shining above the rooftops. Somehow it was shining through the window slats and the Venetian blinds were closed. Strange, but the slats were turned upward, and starlight squeezed through the cracks. I got up to take a closer look.  Gazing at its wonder, I was amazed to see how one bright star can light up the dark, bringing hope and a promise of things yet to come.

So, never give up.  Keep on asking the angels for help in shining your light.

A Pear for Christmas: An Angel Message

While watering the flowers yesterday, an UPS truck pulled up and the carrier presented me with a large box.  To my delight, it was a dozen beautiful pears, a Christmas gift from a friend in Virginia.   The pears reminded me of that well known joyful song, The 12 Days of Christmas, as the pear tree is repeated 12 times.

Just for fun, I looked up the symbolism of a pear.  It represents the womb, the birth and creation of new life.  The pear tree represents the feminine in nature.

A little more research turned up this famous renaissance painting, Madonna of the Pear by Giovanni Bellini (1426-1516).   In Christian symbolism, it appears in connection with Christ's love for mankind.

A pear tree also represents longevity, justice, strength, fruitfulness, and salvation.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

A Christmas Pysanka: An Angel Message

An ordinary looking egg can become a work of art if held by a gifted artist.  Many years ago, our friend Jim gave us a pysanka--a Ukranian Easter egg decorated with a wax resistant method (batik).  The word pysanka comes from the verb pysaty, which means "to write" as the design on the eggs are not painted on, but written with beeswax.  To give such a gift is a symbol of life which is why the egg must remain whole.

On our colorful red egg, Mary holds her baby close, the Son who brings Life into our world, the living Word Incarnate, engraved in our hearts.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

A Bundle of Angels

A friend showed up for breakfast with a little bundle of Christmas. He had to point out they were angels as I hadn't noticed they had  pine needle wings.   Angels often catch us unaware of their presence.  Today spread your wings and look for ways to be an angel in someone's life.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Embracing the Light: An Angel Message

(12/7/15  Angel silhouette on the dining room wall)

Sometimes we may get a glimpse of the unknowing perfection of objects randomly placed in our midst.  Late yesterday afternoon when passing through the dining room, I caught sight of a large angelic silhouette on the wall.  The lovely image was coming from the Garden Angel on the table.  Mysteriously it appeared as if she were presenting her large flower as a gift to the Madonna and Child.  The best gift we can ever give Christ is to become all God intended us to be and to blossom in our divinity.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Love and joyful blessings,

The Light of the World - An Angel Message

This morning before meditating, my attention was drawn to a new candle on the coffee table. To my surprise, the soft glow of the flame flickered directly above Jesus' head.  A lovely reminder that Christ is the Light of the World. The angels were revealing today's message.

As I leaned back on the sofa to capture the moment with my camera, I discovered a more expansive view through the lens. On the hearth, the nativity scene was also illumined as the flame shone on the new born Christ held in the arms of his loving mother.

The words on the candle jar bring more light and faith:  Jesus, I Trust in You.

The Christ is the same, yesterday, today, and tomorrow.  His loving presence dwells within our hearts at Christmas time as well as throughout the year.

May you find peace and joy as you shine your Light to those around you today.

Have a joyful day with the Angels.

Love and blessings,

Rae Karen

The Angel of Abundance

Abundance was the Angel of choice this morning as I dipped my hand into the bowl and randomly selected a card.  I love the image--an overflowing harvest of fruit, including strawberries!.  And this Angel is bringing even more blessings!

Abundance is a state of consciousness--when observing the abundance of life in our world, we can't help but see the plenitude of the many varieties of flowers in their myriad of beautiful colors, not only in plants and trees, but in the many different birds and animals, and, of course, in humanity as no two people are exactly alike.  Take that out to the cosmos, the billions of stars and galaxies upon galaxies.  With the superabundant universe, there is even a greater abundance within.  The angels, God's representatives of Love, bring tidings of a kingdom reality, of a spiritual birthright, untouched by matter.  The fruits of the Spirit bring the gifts of eternal abundance.

As Christ Jesus said, "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."   (John 10:10)

Enjoy your day with the Angels and may you open your heart to receive the abundance waiting for you.

Love and joyful blessings,

Rae Karen

A Strawberry: A Perfect Advent Gift

This morning I was guided to try something new.  Rather than wait for the advent gift of the day to come to me externally, I asked to receive it in my meditation.  To my delight, I saw two elves open an old  burlap sack. (almost as big as they were!)  They pulled out a large ripe succulent strawberry--juicy red with golden seeds. I've always loved strawberries and Mom's delicious strawberry shortcake.   I looked up the symbolism and was surprised the flowers and the berries symbolize spiritual purity and nobility of spirit.

A little more research revealed that the strawberry is sacred to the Virgin Mary.  It played a role in medieval Christian art and folklore.  Albrecht Durer painted The Bagnacavallo Madonna, shown here.  The Child in her lap holds a sprig of a fruit-bearing strawberry plant (one of the symbols of the Trinity).  His plant has only two leaves instead of the usual three which indicates the last person of the Trinity in the Child.  (Wikipedia)

My unusual gift turned out to be more in season than I knew.  This is the time of year Mother Mary draws close to the Earth--the Queen of the Angels showers humanity with her grace, peace and unconditional love.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Love and joyful blessings,

Rae Karen

Yellow Hibiscus: An Angel Gift

                                       (Dec 2, 2015 - single bloom Hibiscus)

With the advent of Christmas, it's fun to imagine what may cross your path as a gift for the day.  Like a child joyfully opening a numbered door on an advent calendar, you may be surprised when you make an intention to receive from the Angels.  With a playful spirit, I did. This morning I discovered a beautiful yellow hibiscus blooming in the flower bed.  Last month, the little bush was doing so poorly that I almost gave up,  but then planted it in a sunny spot, and let it be.  You'll recognize your gift as it comes with a ripple of Aha!, catching you off-guard.

Turns out, this lovely hibiscus is a sign of rebirth and youthfulness. The flower's message: Take advantage of opportunities while they present themselves--even if only for a short time.  I love the color yellow--it reminds me of the soft glow of a candle, dispelling darkness and bringing faith.

Enjoy your day and open wide to the opportunities to celebrate this joyful season of love, peace, and goodwill.  What a wonderful time to commune with your Higher Self to wrap up old business and prepare for a brand new beginning.

Joyful blessings,

Rae Karen
