Angel of Spontaneity:

Often our days are so tightly planned there is no room for spontaneity to work its wonder. I keep this seashell out as a reminder to loosen up.  Many years ago, my son wanted me to go to the beach one afternoon. I had plans to finish a project, but I playfully reached for the angel deck on the coffee table.  Fairly new cards, I was surprised by my random choice.  Angel Manakel advised: "Explore the wisdom of the dolphins."

Off we went to answer the call to the sea. The soft ocean breeze and the rhythm of the surf were enlivening as I sat on the beach blanket enjoying the sun. Life was energetic.   Sand crabs shoveled out tunnels for new digs and white seagulls freely soared the blue skies. The dolphins didn't show up that afternoon, but another treasure appeared from out of the sea.  My son found this special shell for me (above) in the water.

Nature had naturally etched a five-petaled flower on a shell, creating something new and different!

Five represents expansion having extended beyond the four-sided box into a five-sided pentagon shape.  Freedom from limitations.

The angels encourage us to break out of our shell and try something new and different.  Be spontaneous and live fully.

Angels on the Road

Ever felt an angel’s breath in the gentle breeze?
A teardrop in the falling rain?
Hear a whisper amongst the rustle of leaves?
Or been kissed by a lone snowflake?
Nature is an angel’s favorite hiding place.
--Carrie Latet

I love this tender quote about angels. Nature is so healing, that's where I feel closest to God. While living on the farm in Virginia, one morning a young woman lost control of her brand new car.  She ended up in the ditch by the long driveway to our cottage.

Thank goodness, she wasn't hurt and there was minimal damage to her car.

I asked her, what happened?

She wasn't sure. She had stopped at a nearby park to rest, feeling tired. When she started out on the road again, the next thing she knew she was in the ditch. As an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), she was used to rescuing other people, but this was a first for her. And, on such a familiar road, one she had traveled most of her life.

After the police left, I invited her to sit on the swing bench under the old oak tree and get centered before driving again.

"It was as though His hand guided me safely into that ditch," she said.

I agreed, it was a heavenly landing. Her angels were watching over her.

Turns out, she had plans to drive out of state that afternoon. A thought came to me that maybe this little mishap was the worse of it. The angels wanted her to postpone her long drive until a more auspicious time.

"I hadn't thought of it that way," she smiled, feeling better. Just then, a leaf fell from the old oak tree and landed on her lap. She laughed and took it with her as a reminder of God's care.

Sometimes we get sidetracked on purpose. Our angels are keeping us on course, although it may not appear so to the ego, but it is in divine order.

Angelic blessings,

Angel of Mercy

One definition for the word "mercy" in Webster's dictionary is: "a blessing that is an act of divine favor or compassion."

After a little soul searching, the angels were helping me to understand that in order to have a heart for those less fortunate, one must first have a heart for what is poor or unhappy inside one's self.

The gift of mercy is to be as compassionate to yourself as you are to others. Don't be so hard on yourself.  Treat yourself tenderly. When a mistake is made rather than let your hardhearted ego beat you up, simply affirm you'll do better next time, then let it go.  Don't keep hammering away at it.

Often we treat ourselves mercilessly, but can easily shower compassion on everyone else.  The angels want us to know that when we are so full of God's love, we automatically give from a place of overflowing.

So the Angel of Mercy helps to silence that ruthless critic lodged in our consciousness. Why not take time out today and create a loving place for yourself in your heart.  God never changed His mind about you.  He loves you. You are His masterpiece.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Ladybug Message from the Other Side: An Angel Message

Angels can deliver messages of love in such a perfect tender way that it can be emotionally overwhelming.

That's what happened to me yesterday.

During the  hot summer days, I often look out the den window to see the meditation garden.  Gus, our orange striped tail, tabby likes to nap on the butterfly bench.

Yesterday as I stood at the window, I caught sight of a colorful insect flying towards the window.  I HOPED it was a LADYBUG!  I don't recall ever seeing a ladybug flying in the light! But, quickly I accused myself of wishful thinking.

Then she landed on the tall wild beauty berry bush near the window.  I looked hard to make sure it was a ladybug.  To my surprise, she seemed to accommodate my wish as she flew onto the window right where I stood.

A ladybug!  I marveled.

Life is beautiful in every moment.

Ladybugs are my special sign that my dear mother is still with me. The timing of her message seemed so deliberate that I shed a few joyful tears.   First, at being able to see the beauty of such a tiny winged messenger in flight; and, second, the joy that life is eternal.

Enjoy your day!  Thanks, Angels for all you do to guide, comfort and bless each of us.

Love and joyful blessings,

Rae Karen

The Armadillo Visit: An Angel Message

It's fun to see what angels messages may show up from nature. What a surprise to find this guy by our front door this morning. His visit seemed so deliberate that I did a little research.   Armadillo is a Spanish word that means "little armored one" and refers to the bony plates of protection that cover the back, head, legs, and tail of this animal.

When one appears, it can indicate a need to set up healthy boundaries for yourself and others.  You don't have to isolate and curl up in your protective shell.   Speak what's true for you.  Ask yourself  when it is beneficial to be unyielding? When would being more flexible best serve you and others?  Then follow your inner truth.

It's wonderful to have empathy but we need to maintain a balance when helping others.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Love and joyful blessings,

The Feast of Mary Magdalene Day!

Mary Magdalene by Richard Stodart

Today I'd like to honor Mary Magdalene on her special Feast Day by sharing how her loving influence led me on a spiritual quest in 1995 to the little town of Rennes le Chateau in the south of France.

Having finally arrived at my destination, I sat on the grassy hilltop that spring afternoon and gazed down at the parceled farm land blanketed like a patchwork quilt.  In the distance, the snow capped Pyrenees cast a lazy bluish haze in the sky. In that moment of peaceful bliss, a gentle breeze tussled my hair. With the sun warm on my face,  I felt freedom like never before.  A trail of irises had delivered me to this special place. The Holy Spirit's guidance had unfolded my steps like the petals on a beautiful flower.

You see, for many years I'd spent my working hours tucked away from the sun in an old converted warehouse building that had no windows.  Now in great freedom, my eyes misted with joyful tears.

Time stood still as I sat still, breathing in the beauty and peace of this place devoted to Mary Magdalene and Christ.  Then I felt an unmistakable stirring in my heart. A joyful rush of energy burst forth from my chest like a captive bird breaking free from its shell.   It seemed so real that I could almost hear the wings of my soul flapping as it soared toward the mountains.  I watched hoping to see, but nothing was visible to the naked eye.  Only the sun, the wind, the mountains and a peacefulness about me.

To my surprise, a rooster crowed...in the afternoon!  I laughed. Maybe he’s a late bloomer, like me.

The Tower of the Magdala reminds us that Mary Magdalene came from a place of Higher Consciousness.  Jesus healed her by casting out seven demons.  We’re all like Mary Magdalene in the sense, we have to be purified.   Our personal demons are ego thoughts of fear, pride, guilt, greed, anger, hatred, separation, and sin.  The Holy Spirit teaches we are entitled to miracles, but first we need purification.  That is, cleaning up any thoughts that are not God's Thought.  This can be done with the love of the Christ within and the Holy Spirit,  if we’re willing.

Women have shared that Mary Magdalene's energy often comes when they are struggling to find their true  voice, the feminine voice that urges to be true to their Higher Self.  Mary Magdalene's energy urges us to give up everything (all false idols) and follow the indwelling Christ.  She was there at the cross.   She was the first witness to Life’s victory over death.  Her Rabboni commissioned her to go tell the other disciples the good news.  As a woman, would they believe her?

Many years ago when I first heard the whisper, Mary Magdalene, in meditation, I didn't know much about her. That quest began a long journey for me.   I now know her gift was to help me find the lost part of myself…the sacred Voice of the feminine.  As that Voice within speaks, we must not be afraid anymore to follow the indwelling Christ.  The feminine can stand on her own two feet as an equal.  This is a powerful time for male and female relationships.  Also, to restore balance, it is important for men to recognize their female polarity, to loosen her, and allow the beloved feminine of God to speak.

In remembrance and gratitude to Mary Magdalene as we celebrate her Feast and soar free to be.

Love and joyful blessings,

Rae Karen

Physics of the Quest: An Angel Message

You have probably heard about the physics of the "quest."  How everyone that crosses our path is part of our own puzzle, whether we realize it or not.  Some are less obvious as they show up in a variety of uniforms:  contractors, service reps, lawn maintenance, housekeeping, etc. The angels have taught me over the years to be vigilant and open to these routine messengers.

For instance, many years ago, our landlord called to set up an appointment. A pest control service annual inspection of our rental was due.  When I heard the company name, I knew something more was up.  The Alpha-Omega Pest Service.

God said in the Bible, "I am the ALPHA and the OMEGA, the beginning and the end.

On these rare visits, I try to remember to silently ask the angels to be with us.  I also call on the Holy Spirit and ask for a holy relationship with the person. He raises the communication to a higher level.

There was some irony on the day of our inspection as I listened to the pest control serviceman share a story about his own "pestilence" in the past. And how forgiveness was the answer.   A man he knew quite well had suddenly become hurtful, saying mean things about him to others.  Rather than worry, he tried to ignore it. But as time went on, he found a heaviness within, a bitterness and resentment as he began to entertain hateful thoughts about his accuser.  Not liking who he was becoming, he earnestly prayed to God for help in forgiving this man, as well as himself.

A short time later he had a powerfully beautiful dream. Glorious angels of golden light were cheering him on for choosing to forgive.  The vision was so real he was almost moved to tears by just how close the angels are to each of us, and how great their love is for all humanity. Their jubilant celebration reminded him of Jesus' words:  "Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth." (Luke 15:10)

Something happened a short time later, out of the blue one day, he had an apology from his friend for such hateful behavior.   The power of forgiveness is real.

Forgiveness is hard to do on our own at times, but if we ask for God's help, our pestilence will be cleared away and we will rejoice in the Truth.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Joyful blessings,

Rae Karen

The Angel of the North: An Angel Message

(Photo: Angel of the North Through the Trees)

The impressive Angel of the North, (above) stands on a hill in Gateshead, England overlooking the traffic on AI.  This 66-foot tall, 200-ton steel angel has a 177 ft. wingspan, bigger than a Boeing 757! It is the largest statue in Britain, and perhaps, the world.  One of the most viewed art forms in the world, it is seen by more than one person every second, 90,000 every day or 33 million each year.

During the night of February 14, 1998, The Angel of the North, was delivered in 25m sections by police escort.  Traveling at 10 mph, at dawn the body of the Angel was lifted into position in its new home on the hill.  Valentine's Day.

Why an angel?

"I want to make something we can live with
and that becomes a reservoir for feelings--
feelings that perhaps we hadn't known
until this thing was there, or feelings
that couldn't arise until it was."
                        --Anthony Gormley
                           Designer, Angel of the North

When surfing the web, I couldn't tell how massive the Angel of the North was in stature.  But what a bold reminder.   I LOVE it!  An opened winged angel on a hill watching over our comings and goings on life's highway.  The size, like a metaphor, made me wonder, if our own belief in the reality of angels would take physical form, and grow bigger and bigger each day as we slowly embraced the truth, what would happen?  This solid conviction of their Presence would eventually leave no room for doubt and fear. Then Angel thoughts could take flight, and span our waking hours with higher inspirations of peace, love, and joy.

Enjoy your day with the Angels, and remember them often.

Love and joyful blessings,

Rae Karen

The Upward Climb: An Angel Message

(Mt. Everest, 1921)

When we commit to making the ascent to "higher ground", how reassuring to know that we do not  journey upward alone.  It takes great courage to let go of all the familiar comforts and in faith take one step at a time toward the lofty summit.

Recently I learned about a famous climber who made a rare claim. He was aided by an angel while mountain climbing.  In the 1930's, Francis Sydney Smythe climbed Mt. Everest.  Pressing on toward that treacherous goal, he made an important  discovery.  An invisible presence was by his side, making him feel safe.  This "friendly presence" was so real that one day Smythe shared his ration of chocolate with it!  "In its company I could not feel lonely, neither could I come to any harm.  It was always there to sustain me on my solitary climb."

Our guardian angels are always by our side, too.  We each have "mountains" to climb in our life.  Obstacles that appear insurmountable when faced alone, but with God and His angels all things are possible.  Progress comes daily in little upward steps that lead beyond our poor limitations and toward beautiful new vistas as we push on toward the high calling in Christ.

Angels are real--they comfort, guide, and protect; all we need is a little willingness to believe and share our best along the way. Thank you, God, for the gift of your Angels.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Love and joyful blessings,

Bubbles or Troubles: An Angel Message

"Unless ye be like little children,
you cannot enter the kingdom of
heaven."   JESUS

In The Healing Power of Humor, Allen Klein describes our highways as daily distress ways. His remedy:  Keep a bottle of bubbles on hand and have some fun. Now when he finds himself stuck in traffic, he rolls down the car window and blows bubbles. This relieves stress and helps him to accept what is.  It also puts a smile on those drivers around him.

I decided to give it a try.  Sitting in heavy traffic one day, I reached for my bubbles in the car glove box, and although feeling a little silly, I began to blow.  Outside the window, colorful orbs soon floated freely above the snarled traffic.  A lady in another car "parked" beside me, rolled down her window and shouted, "I LOVE IT!"  We both had a good laugh.

So, the next time you're stuck instead of blowing off steam, blow away your troubles in delightful bubbles of childlike glee.  Whatever is going on, it didn't come to stay, it came to pass.

Have a joyful day with the Angels,

Rae Karen

The Path Less Traveled: An Angel Message

A favorite well-known poem, The Road Less Traveled, by Robert Frost, is a keeper.  Many years ago while on government business in New Hampshire, I had an opportunity to visit the farm house of this gifted poet.  I returned home with a better understanding of him as well as a book of his poetry.

Many years later, when Elliot and I were making our first pilgrimage to Florida for the winter, there was a little reminder that popped up in a most unlikely way.  At the hotel, we had checked in and gotten the key.  When the hotel elevator door shut,  and an angel message appeared on our way "up".  I chuckled at the timing.  This sweet poster of  two winged human cherubs were a reminder to keep on walking towards the light.   The "Path Less Traveled" is not always the easiest way to go, the ego must be shed,  but the journey brings everlasting rewards as we become like little children trusting in God to guide the way.

I'm so thankful for the angels and all they do to help us travel light.  They encourage us to embrace the joy and miracles that surround us.  Walk in the Light, holding your sister's (brother's) hand and be in gratitude for everything! And most of all remember, it's not always about you.

Wishing you a joy-filled day with your Angels.

Wonderful Things Are Happening!

Several years ago, I came across the following testimony by a devout Christian Scientist who had practiced a truth and had gotten amazing results. The Angel of Enthusiasm must have guided me to that article because it was what I needed at the time:

"One night following a Wednesday evening meeting, a friend of mine made a statement to a friend of hers.  She said with great positiveness and conviction in her voice, "Don't be concerned about anything--wonderful things are taking place.  She was so emphatic in making her statement that another lady overheard it.

On the way home she started to think about this positive, joyous approach.  She realized that this positive, joyous attitude had certainly not been the attitude that she had been entertaining.  She had been very much concerned for many reasons--an incurable disease which had been growing steadily worse, a business which had failed, and her son was in the danger zone in Korea.  She asked herself, "How can I say I am unconcerned?"

The answer came just as if God were speaking to her.  "Because God is all there is, there is absolutely nothing to be concerned about."

The she asked herself, "How can I rejoice and say that wonderful things are taking place?"

The answer came, "Because God is all there is, and He is expressing Himself, the results have to be wonderful."

..."The statement, "I am not concerned about anything--wonderful things are taking place" is not a formula, nor is it a Pollyanna attitude on seeing only the good in spite of the bad.  The statement, "I am not concerned about anything," is based upon the most important of all metaphysical laws. The law that God is ALL.  It is because of the allness of God that there is absolutely nothing to be concerned about.

That night on the way home she determined that no matter what came up in her body, or in her affairs, she was going to refuse to be concerned.  And instead, she was going to rejoice consistently that wonderful things were taking place.  She realized that the basis for such a positive joyous approach was scientific because she was truly convinced that God is ALL, and that God is really expressing Himself.

She stood steadfast in her practice of this scientific, positive, joyous attitude.  As a result she was very quickly healed and her business was restored to a place far beyond what it had ever been before."

(If you want to hear the entire amazing testimony, watch Wonderful Things Are Happening by Dorothy Rieke http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQKRgUEt6N0)

Many people benefited from this statement, Wonderful things are happening.  I decided to try it myself.   There was a deep sense of peace as I repeated it often throughout the day.  I could relax and let God be in control.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.  And remember the Truth, Wonderful things are happening.  And they are.

Love and joyful blessings,

Rae Karen

The Powerful Protection of Psalm 91

For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to guide and protect thee in all thy ways.
 Psalm 91:11

Over the years this powerful Psalm has been a great source of comfort and peace to me.  It is an insurance plan of protection if you abide in the Secret Place of the Most High (state of  divine consciousness.)

For years my husband, Elliot, and I would read Psalm 91 out loud from the Bible at the close of the Sabbath.  Mom had participated during our frequent visits and asked me if I had memorized it yet.

Her question made me realize precious time wasted that could be put to good use.  I had read many testimonies of the savings grace of Psalm 91. So I copied the verses on an index card and carried it in my purse. Whenever I had a free moment in the day, waiting in line at the post office or sitting in the car at the bank, I would study those powerful words.

It didn't come easy, but over the months, as I began to slowly build verse upon verse, committing it to memory, reciting it over and over again, something amazing began to happen as I closed my eyes and repeated the words out loud.  I could actually feel an inner presence begin to stir within my soul.  The verses had a life force, a holy presence that was permeating my being.  I had heard people say there is power in The Word, now I understood what that meant.

Shortly after memorizing the entire Psalm, my faith was put to the test.  To my amazement, there was a peace, an acceptance rather than an adverse reaction to a big challenge like in the past. The change was so palpable that my ego wondered, what was wrong with me?!  Then, I realized, over the months,  the power of Psalm 91 had been released within me. Rather than running on fear, I was now abiding in the Secret Place of the Most High, angels were watching over me. To my delight, soon the problem faded away as quickly as it had come.

Another resource had helped me, too.  A complimentary five-week email course on the web, Release the Power of Psalm 91.Study Link  Each week I had a lesson in the mail to study. The third week, was a biggie.  We were asked to step out in faith and partner with God.  To do something we felt God was asking us to do, but we were too afraid. For years, I had felt a nudge to do angel lectures, but a dreadful fear of public speaking held me back.

With the power of Psalm 91, I realized I would not be alone.  So I took a step to become a volunteer lecturer at the Association for Research & Enlightenment down the street. Encouragement came in a surprising way a week before my maiden lecture.  A little angel statue with the words ANGELS BELIEVE IN YOU crossed my path at a shop.  There was a light touch of humor as that phrase was completely new to me.  I BELIEVE IN ANGELS I knew.  It was rubber stamped on all my outgoing mail. But  the thought angels actually believe in me was radical!  In that instant, I knew the angels were cheering me on, that I could do it!

And I did.  I bought that little statue and put it on the podium, facing me as I began my journey spreading the good word about angels in our presence.  Another angel touch came when my husband found a little white feather on the floor as he was arranging the chairs in the auditorium.

So, my friends, if you have a calling, don't let fear limit you, release the Power of Psalm 91 and watch what happens with the Angels by your side.

Love and joyful blessings,

Rae Karen

Christ Vision: An Angel Message

What do you see?  Many years ago an office mate at the Department of Defense gifted me with this special door sign that she had lovingly embroidered.  At first glance it was an enigma.  I couldn't figure out the message, but Justine assured me to keep on looking. It would come to me. I would catch sight of it. And I did!  For many years, it hung on my closet door, mostly forgotten. Every now and then, it would come to my attention. I noticed a funny thing.  When I looked at it a certain way, the word JESUS was as clear as it could be. Then on other days, as hard as I tried, I could only see those undecipherable red markings. What was going on?

And so I learned about our five senses, they are deceivers. Sometimes things appear with crystal clarity like the name of JESUS shown here, while at other times there is distortion in the field and although His Name is unchanged, we can't see it for the life of us.

The good news is the Christ is always there, whether we can see Him or not.

The sight of Christ is all there is to see.
The song of Christ is all there is to hear.
The hand of Christ is all there is to hold.
There is no journey but to walk with Him.

A Shout for Joy: An Angel Message

Where others see but the dawn
coming over the hill,
I see the soul of God
shouting for joy.
            --William Blake

Sometimes a Bible verse or angel inspiration comes our way as a spiritual vitamin to fortify us for an upcoming incident.  The Angel of Laughter blog yesterday morning was just the medicine I would need later in the day.  My sweet husband has been religiously administering a daily regime of various eye drops at various times as I recover nicely from eye surgery.

Yesterday there was a slip up, and I got a potent drop at noon that was scheduled for late that evening!  When he quickly discovered the error, an alarm started to go off in my head...but then I caught sight of the word LAUGH memento on the coffee table.

I knew it was meant for me to relax and look for the humor. To laugh at the mad idea that a little eye drop could have so much power over me.  Any unseen fear was neutralized with the help of the Angels.  A quick call to the doc and it turned out to be no big deal, but oh how the ego loves drama!

I know many of you have been going through challenges this year.  Here's a Bible verse I copied down yesterday while surfing the net for passages on joy.

Consider it all joy, my brothers
when you encounter various trials,
for you know that the testing of
your faith produces perseverance.
And let perseverance be perfect,
so that you may be perfect and
complete, lacking nothing.
        James 1:2

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Angel of Laughter

The idea for today's blog came from this vintage letter plaque that hangs by my bedside. The angels remind us to take time out to laugh and lighten up.  Later, I knew a theme was developing when my attention was drawn to this porcelain box on the coffee table.

The angels can help us to see the funny side of Life.  As I sat on the sofa thinking about the joyful stories from the past,  there is one that stands out.

Many years ago, my sister-in-law Marsha was afraid to drive her new mini-van through the car wash. The wheels had to be aligned within the guide rails to pull the vehicle through the wash/rinse/blow cycles and she didn't think she could do it.   My mother, a take charge kind of gal, came for a visit.  After lunch out and shopping, she convinced Marsha to face her fears.  Mom would help.  So they made a pit stop on the way home.  At the car wash building, Mom got out like a traffic cop and used hand signals to guide her daughter-in-law.  Marsha inched forward.  All was going well...until my mother backed herself across the floor marker and activated a soapy spray that dampened her hair-do.  Hollering, Mom scrambled across the slippery floor, skidding to her knees.  Luckily my aging Mom wasn't hurt, but it sure tickled their funny bones.

Life is like a car wash at times, don't you think?  WASH. RINSE. SPIN.  And we're ready to bounce back and hit the road again.

Enjoy your day with the Angels and remember to take time to laugh.

Love and joyful blessings,

Revisiting the Angel of Vision

When the Angel of Vision became the random card of choice again today, I was thankful for the synchronicity.  A dear friend had emailed me about an earlier blog, The Tree Bark Angel Wings.   Had I seen the two figures naturally carved in the distressed wood?

What a surprise to see an image of Mother Mary (in her head scarf) standing on the left angel wing, facing a shorter, long-haired Jesus on the right angel wing.

Enjoy your day with the Angels and look for the deeper meaning around you.  God loves you and wants to bless you.

Love and joyful blessings,

Angel of Vision

I let out a little laugh when my angel card for today turned out to be the Angel of Vision!

Yesterday I had my post-op visit with the ophthalmologist.  On the early morning ride to his office in Sanford, my eyes took in all the beautiful sights! The golden sun blessed all that it touched.   Fields of  pink wild flowers, and plentiful palms and palmettos dotted Interstate-4.  I was overflowing with deep gratitude for EVERYTHING! A large white pelican soared spreading its powerful wings as she passed us at a traffic light. Her message, to stay buoyant as a pelican floats in the stormy seas.

Then I spotted a lone hawk in a straggly tree by big beautiful Lake Monroe.  Hawk is a favorite messenger and a reminder to keep our eyes on the BIG picture.  Another special bird caught my eye, a majestic blue heron!  He had waded out in the calm shallow waters of  the Lake and now waited patiently for nourishment.

Earlier a truck had merged onto the highway.  The bold sign on the side panel was easy to read:  TAKE A GIANT STEP IN SERVICE.  I laughed, saying "I'm ready!  Use me!"

Enjoy your day with the Angels and all of the natural beauty that surrounds you.

Love and joyful blessings,

Rae Karen

Tree Bark Wings: An Angel Message

(Tree Bark Wings - Wikimedia Commons)
The photo of this weathered old tree reveals an inner beauty, angel wings.  It's only after passing through the trials and storms of life, that we too crack open and get a glimpse of the Light; our unseen eternal divinity deep within.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

A Peaceful Repose: An Angel Message

By focusing on a picture of serenity, we can find ourselves taking a deep breath and relaxing into the moment.  My favorite canvas painting hangs on the bedroom wall where I can glance at it first thing in the morning and last thing at night.  It serves as a reminder of another favorite, Lesson 109 in A Course in Miracles,  "I rest in God."

Here are a few passages that help me find peace:

"I rest in God."  This thought will bring to you the rest and quiet, peace and stillness, and the safety and the happiness you seek.  "I rest in God." This thought has power to wake the sleeping truth in you, whose vision sees beyond appearances to that same truth in everyone and everything there is.

..."I rest in God." Completely undismayed, this thought will carry you through storms and strife, past misery and pain, past loss and death, and onward to the certainty of God.  There is no suffering it cannot heal.  There is no problem it cannot solve.  And no appearance but will turn to truth before the eyes of you who rest in God."

In Him you have no cares and no concerns, no burdens, no anxiety, no pain, no fear of future and no past regrets.  In timelessness you rest, while time goes by without its touch upon you, for your rest can never change in any way at all.  You rest today."

I invite you take a deep breath, close  your eyes, and silently whisper, "I rest in God."

Love and joyful blessings,

Rae Karen

Inspiration of Mont Saint Michel: Angel Message

(Photo from Wikimedia Commons of Mont Saint Michel, France )

When I first saw the spirals of Mont Saint Michel
rising up as if out of nowhere, it looked like a
mirage.  I got goosebumps.

Many years ago, while at the library, the  Angels put my hands on an over-sized book of illustrations. Leafing through Walt Disney's Imagineering, A Behind the Dreams Look at Making the Magic Real, I  found the spark illustrating the birth of a dream on the colorful pages.

What a surprise to discover a link between Archangel Michael and the inspiration for a castle at the European Disney Park.  Tom Morris, Disney Imagineer, had sketched a proposal for a fanciful castle that was inspired by his visit to Mont Saint Michel in France (above) as well as the Sleeping Beauty styling of Eyvind Earle.

That's how the Angels of Creativity work.  They guide us to places and things that fire up our imagination and bring it down to earth.

"Get a good idea and stay with it.
Dog it and work at it until it's
                      done, and done right."

Disney's mode of operation in his own words:

"We call them gag sessions.
We get in there and toss
ideas around.  And we throw
them in and put all the minds
together and come up with
something and say a little
prayer and open it and hope
it will go."

So many wonderful ideas can come to mind to add more joy and love to our world.   If we just stay focused, do our best, then say a little prayer, and leave the rest to God, wonderful things can happen!

Enjoy your day with the Angels!

Opossum!: Angel Message

Oh my!  June 30th began with a big surprise!   In the morning, I was at the computer when I heard the termite control inspector shout from underneath our crawlspace!  There was such a commotion,  I yelled back through the dining room floorboards. "Are you okay!?"

"OPOSSUM!"

I hurried outside as he shakily crawled out.

It turned out that the mama had set up housekeeping and had delivered four babies to our address.  They were nestled together, out of the pouch, older than a month, but not ready to be on their own.  Hearing their cries, she ran to protect them.

My heart was touched by this nocturnal marsupial's trusting choice of residence.  We definitely have a large dose of opossum energy!  What does it mean?

In Animal-Speak, I learned:

Opossum teaches us how to use appearances.  It is the supreme actor.  We may need to appear fearful or fearless in spite of how we truly feel.  We may need to be apathetic or extremely caring.  Submissive or aggressive.  Sometimes it is necessary to "play dead."  Sometimes it is necessary to put up a particular front to succeed easily and effectively.  Fake it until you make it. Opossum can also show you when others are putting up false fronts. If someone is spreading rumors about you, play dead, and don't react or confront the person.  Things will work out more smoothly and justice will prevail.

Some questions to ask: Are you acting or about to act in an inappropriate manner?  Do you need to strengthen your own appearance?  Do you need to divert attention from some activity?  Are others trying to divert your attention?

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Love and joyful blessings,

Rae Karen

One Thing Leads to Another: An Angel Message

While in the garden this week, I began picking up fallen branches from the recent windy rains.  That's when I noticed oak leaves had roosted in the bromeliad funnels. The wet foliage blocked the plants from receiving water and sunlight needed to bloom.  These beauties first develop their blossom within and grow upward and outward on a thick flowering stalk.

With one of the long, thin sticks from the yard, I found myself clearing the wet leaf blockages one by one.  The clumpy brown leaves slid out easily, and I wondered why I hadn't thought of using this method before.  As I slowly worked, I recognized a lesson from nature coming to mind.   Do I let my own "past thoughts" collect and block my ability to bloom?

Uncovering the wayward damp leaves, I found  unfulfilled blossoms buried in the funnels, just waiting for an opportunity to reach up higher and share their beauty.

That garden stick had served me so well that I decided to save it.  And I wondered why, as they are plentiful in the yard. The answer came when I bent over to prop it up by the house.

I came eye-to-eye with a long forgotten white orchid that had flowered on its own!

It was the same plant that had survived last year's hurricane and had bloomed in the storm.  A wonderful reminder of our own resilience....  Yes, we will face personal storms, but with God and His angels we will bounce back, ready to blossom again.

In hindsight, I could see the invisible hand of the angels guiding me that morning.  One thing leads to another, and with their loving help, it seems to happen naturally as I gratefully go about taking care of this or that in the moment.

Faith grows in a garden.  Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Love and joyful blessings,
