Angel of Gratitude

(Angel at a nearby monastery)

The angelic energy for today is one of gratitude. I love the expression on this angel's face. She seems to be in gratitude for all the Love radiations pouring down upon her.   The angels want us to know that God's will for us is happiness.  We can be happy right now.  It need not be postponed.  Often we catch ourselves believing that we'll be happy when we lose weight, or buy a new car, or get a promotion, or start a new relationship; limiting our capacity to be happy in the moment. These goals are always based on some future event that seems to hold a key to our everlasting happiness.  But more than not, once these ambitions have been achieved, sadly they have not sustained our happiness for very long, and the search continues. (I'm reminded of The Rolling Stones hit song in the 60's, I Can't Get No Satisfaction)

I'm learning that when I choose to still my mind and really listen within, I can find that state of happiness; and it isn't based on anything external.  Happiness is an inside job and it's always with us.  With God being All in All, we have everything to be grateful for, and  every reason to be happy. God put His Spirit in us.  It's already there, we don't have to do anything but accept it.  A great way to open to this gift is through the practice of meditation. With daily times set aside to connect with our Spirit, we begin to experience a shift in our consciousness that flows outwardly and touches every aspect of our lives.

The Light of Divine Love

"The soul at its highest is found like God, but an angel gives a closer idea of Him. That is all an angel is: an idea of God."      Meister Eckhart

Yes, angels, "God's thoughts passing to man," are always present.  They indicate the ever present Christ, shining through all the fears and ills of the world.  Recently I read an inspiring story about Mother Teresa that I'd like to share with you.  When England's television celebrity Malcolm Muggeridge went to India to film Mother Teresa and her sisters caring for the dying in Calcutta, the crew wasn't sure they would be successful because of the poor lighting inside the building and they were not equipped with extra lights.  They almost decided to skip the filming because the footage would be useless.  To everyone's surprise when it was developed, the footage was illuminated by a mysterious light.  Technically speaking, the camera crew couldn't explain the results.

Muggeridge said, "Mother Teresa's Home for the Dying is overflowing with love...One senses this immediately on entering it.  This  love is luminous, like the haloes that artists have seen and made visible round the heads of saints.  I find it not at all surprising that the luminosity should register on photographic film."

Isn't it wonderful to know that no matter how dark the hour, God's holy thoughts can cut through the denseness of fear and the material senses of the ego that attempts to clog the flow of Divine Love.   Perfect love does cast out fear.

Angel Messages from the Birds

It's amazing how quickly our thoughts are manifesting these days.  With the acceleration of time and the majestic solar eruption that occurred yesterday, June 23, there is a definite quickening going on.  And, maybe you too have noticed that  the angel messages are coming with more clarity and synchronicity.

Yesterday I found a shiny 2012 quarter in the parking lot at a nearby plaza.  Elliot and I had stopped to get a sandwich, and there it was right on my path.  A bird was pictured on the back-- one of the new state/territorial coins.   Thanking the Angels, (usually I find a penny or a dime) so I knew the quarter was about trusting God with something big that could be coming up.

After lunch we went to the lake.  There was lots of activity as you can see:

A pair of cranes stopped to peck away for a shellfish lunch.  Their two teens had flown the coop, off on their own adventure.  Crane is symbolic of longevity and creativity.  The sandhill red cranes have red on their brows, an indication that our intuition will be getting stronger.

The ducks were making tracks in the sandy beach.   Ducks are a reminder not to let our emotions carry us away, instead let them roll off like water on a duck's back.

I had wanted to take a picture of the osprey, but they were so active, searching for food, hovering above me, I couldn't steady the camera to track him.  Having given up, I put the camera away and just enjoyed the peacefulness in nature.  A short time later, I heard a familiar whistle that became so insistent that I walked out from under the overhang.  To my delight, high in a tree,  I saw this hawk.   I was so excited that somehow I accidentally hit the movie button on the camera and captured his whistle, too. But the images are too shaky to share.

At home, when I downloaded the camera, I saw it was a young eagle, not a hawk!  Seeing his pose,  reminded me of the quarter I'd found.  With a magnifier, I could see that the bird on it was a Puerto Rican parrot behind a plant, but then I was amazed to find a little tree frog called a Coqui also was shown.  Remembering FROG is an acronym for Fully Rely On God, I was so thankful to the angels for the message.

The Golden Eagle (not sure if this is actually one) is symbolic of the New Golden Age. It represents St. John in the Christian tradition. Nostradamus predicted this new Age would begin in 2015.   The eagle is the spiritual sigil for majesty, mastery, and unimpeded progress, victory, splendor, and strength.  All the attributes of our Spirit.  We are spiritual not material beings so not to get fooled by the false perceptions of our five senses.

Enjoy your day with the Angels, listening and watching and enjoying their loving Presence.

Blessings,

Karen

P.S. The parrot is a wise old bird.  With its deafening squawk, it rudely awakens us out of our sleep of complacency and spiritual idleness, and urges us to aim for higher things. (Angel Messages, The Oracle of Birds by Claire Nahmad)

Prayer to a Guardian Angel

(Virginia Beach sunrise)

Today is my dear angel  friend Drew's birthday.  In honor of her special day I was guided to select an angel card for her.  While searching for the description in the book, The Angel Oracle by Ambika Wauters, I found this beautiful prayer.

The Guardian Angel

Thou angel of God who hast charge of me
From the dear Father of mercifulness,
To the shepherding King of the fold of the saints
To make around about me this night,

Drive from me every temptation and danger,
Surround me on the sea of unrighteousness,
And in the narrows, crooks and straits,
Keep thou my coracle, keep it always.

Be thou a bright flame before me,
Be thou a guiding star above me,
Be thous a smooth path below me,
And be a kindly shepherd behind me,
Today, tonight and forever.

I am tired and I a stranger,
Lead thou me to the land of angels;
For it is time to go home
To the court of Christ, to the peace of heaven.

(This prayer was found in the last century in
the Outer Isles of Scotland by Alexander
Carmichael.)

The more we open ourselves up to receiving the messages and radiations from the Angels, the more aware we will become of their loving presence.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Blessings,

Karen

Happy Father's Day

This little family of ducks greeted me at the "pond" this afternoon.  All the heavy rains turned a dry overflow gully into a swimming hole for this proud papa and his family.  Watching them enjoy their outing, I was reminded of my teabag quote:  "Empty yourself and let the universe fill you."

Enjoy your day with the Angels, giving thanks to Fathers today.

Blessings,

Karen

Emotion on the Water

Not to far from home, you can rent a kayak and explore the Saint Johns River.  I had to smile when I first saw their logo ...emotion.  You definitely want to keep your emotions under control on the river.  To stand up and rock the boat could possibly mean a cool dip with the gators.

Our emotions are like the tides in our life.  Strong reactions stir up big waves that continue to swell before we can get a grip on whatever's triggering them.  While at  other times, our emotions are balanced and serene so much so we can enjoy the reflections in the still waters.  The shape and color of these kayaks at Blue Springs served as a reminder to me that I'm not to let my emotions drive me bananas.

A strong reaction to any situation is a sure sign that I am thinking with my ego mind, and to choose again. The angels tell us that everything that comes into our life is teaching a lesson.  With loving acceptance and no judgment, we learn that what we bless with gratitude improves.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

The Loudest Meow

Angel stories abound and sometimes we're gifted with an unexpected opportunity to hear how someone can suddenly perform a heroic act, like an angel.  This happened to me last week while at the bank. A conversation began with a bank executive who was helping me. While transacting business, the topic of cats came up.  Our mutual affinity for our felines lead her to tell me an amazing story of how she found her tabby cat.  It went like this:

Her husband had been singing praises about his old truck and how reliable it had been through the years. A few days later, to her surprise he called to say it had broken down on I-4. A tow truck was on the way.  To his frustration, the delay turned into hours.  When help finally arrived, somehow the truck got stuck in the sand. Another truck was needed that added more hours to his trying patience.

It was sundown when she finally got the call. He was ready to be picked up on I-4.  The truck was there, preparing to tow his vehicle away.  She  parked behind him while her husband finished the paperwork with the driver.

Waiting in her car, she was wondering, why all the delays?

Her answer came when she heard a loud meow.

Her heart sank,  maybe a cat was hurt, but when she got out to look, she didn't see anything. Then she heard the loudest most pitiful MEOW coming from the median strip across the highway.

In the dark, she ran to help and found a frightened ball of orange fur looking up at her.  "Can you can imagine how loud he was crying for me to hear him?" she asked. "With his whole little heart."

Watching her dash across the highway with the kitten, her husband and the tow truck driver both yelled at her out of fright. "That was too dangerous!  Never do that!"

"We already have two cats," her husband said, angrily.  "You could have been killed."

"But this little kitten was meant for you," she told him."Because it was your truck that broke down here on the highway.  And you had to wait here all afternoon so this kitten could be rescued."

That little tabby became part of the family, especially bonding with her husband, who named him Tigor.

Listening to her story brought tears to my eyes.  I thought about that helpless kitten stuck between traffic on a narrow median with no sign of help. And, how hopelessness can suddenly become hopefulness when circumstances shift and out of the blue, an answer appears to solve the crisis. Perfect love does cast out fear.  An inspiring quote from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures captures this moment beautifully:

"Whatever holds human thought in line with unselfed love, receives directly the divine power."
       Mary Baker Eddy

Angels are God's thoughts coming to us on wings of divine love.  Spend time with your angels and watch and listen for the messages they may want to share with you.

Blessings,
Karen

Sandhill Cranes Out for A Stroll

This family of sandhill cranes was out for a stroll in our neighborhood this morning.  All the heavy rains made the grass lush and they were enjoying their breakfast.  I love to watch these long legged graceful birds.  So big in stature, I'm amazed that they can fly!  Often I see them at the airfield hanging out with the skydivers.  A reminder to keep our thoughts at a higher altitude so we can commune with divine inspiration.

In Animal Speak, author Ted Andrews says if the crane has shown up in your life as a totem, it could very well reflect that you are about to recover what had almost become extinct in you.  It was exciting to find the crane so close to home this morning.

Angels bring us messages of  hope and guidance in many different guises.  So, today let's celebrate the uniqueness of each other and let our hidden sacred gifts that are almost at the point of extinction take flight.

Enjoy your time with the Angels and celebrate you and all the joy you bring to the world.

Blessings,

Karen

Like Little Children...

Our Guardian Angel can help us to touch the child in us who is often lonely or feeling unloved.  Our guardian angel knows us better than we know ourselves and can help heal deep wounds where we've felt the absence of love or experienced abuse in the past.

In the scripture, Christ Jesus tells us that we cannot enter heaven unless we be like little children.  The purity, joy, and innocence of our true Self is that creative Inner Child that may be buried underneath layers of guilt and self-condemnation.

When we allow ourselves to take time and still our minds, we can connect with that sacred place within us that is untouched by the world.  Remembering we are truly spirit and not a physical body, we can begin to embrace the joy of knowing that God never changed His Mind about us.  We are each His precious Child protected and guided by Angels in all of our ways.

I've found it helpful to see that "little one" in every person, especially if I am going through a trying time in a particular relationship with someone.  There are no men or women; only the boy and girl, each calling out for love.

We can pray to our Guardian Angel to help us have courage and enjoy being ourselves.  The more we open our hearts to the Angels, the more peace and joy will fill our lives.

Angel blessings,

Karen

Angel Face in A Cloud

While visiting Winterhaven, FL several weeks ago, I snapped this picture from the hotel window.  I had asked the angels to give me a sign of their presence in a photo if they wanted to.  I must admit I felt a little silly asking for such a demonstration. There is so much beauty all around and in my heart I know the angels are ever present.   Soon I forgot about the request...but was amazed to find this angel face in the clouds when the pictures were uploaded on my laptop.

The Angel face in the clouds seemed to be a reminder that in the cloudy storms of life, an angel is there.  The answer always comes with the problem. Perfect love casts out fear.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Blessings,

Karen
