Happy Michaelmas Day!

Michaelmas, or the Feast of Michael and all Angels is celebrated every year on September 29th.  The event falls near the equinox, and is associated with the start of autumn.  It's a great time to stop and give thanks to Archangel Michael and all the angels who are lovingly devoted to serving humankind by quickening our spiritual awareness.

Have a joyful day!

Love,

John Lennon Statue - "Imagine"

In 2011 while sightseeing in Mount Dora, my husband, Elliot and I came upon a life size statue of John Lennon sitting on a park bench. I was struck by his pose, arms opened wide, embracing the world with a peaceful upward gaze.

A closer look revealed that someone had given John a half pair of eye glasses. Zooming in with my camera, I was surprised to see a lizard posing on the sign post, IMAGINE.

Lizard represents dream time...

The lyrics to John's song made me smile.  "Imagine all the people living life in peace."

"...You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one."

Love and peaceful blessings,

Autumn Equinox - Welcome Archangel Michael

                                                     (photo from Wikimedia Commons)

What a wonderful way to begin the Autumn Equinox this morning as I heard the President comment on the beautiful day the Lord has made. In the  sunlight Pope Francis and President Obama stood side by side in a sacred moment of silence.  I could feel a holy hush over the crowd of 15,000 gathered on the White House lawn.    Pope Francis brings the soulful message for us each to become more loving people.   His joyful smiling face radiates a tenderness and love for all people.  The Pope spoke about change, and so change is happening in the celestial realm as well today.

Archangel Michael. the governor of  Autumn, takes the reins from Archangel Uriel who guided us through a fiery purification this summer.  Now is the time of harvest, a time to shed the old to prepare for the new.   It is also a time to plant seeds for next year's harvest.

Archangel Michael is the warrior who helps  us to triumph over our own negativity.  Michael's name translates from the Hebrew as "Look Like God".  Historically he is the protector of both Israel and the Catholic Church.  Also known as the patron saint of police officers, soldiers,  and small children, he watches over pilgrims and strangers.  Archangel Michael also comes to assist each seeker on the spiritual path and is known as Lord of the Way while Christ is known as the Way.  Call on him whenever you are feeling fearful about your life.  He will guide you to fulfill your destiny.

Under Michael's rule, it is a testing time for the soul.  For some, it may be a willingness to give up that which is most cherished or sacred.  The good news is that when we pass our tests, a spiritual compensation awaits us.  And, also during these trials, there is always extra spiritual guidance available.  It is an excellent time to connect through nature.

Love and joyful blessings,

Trust God: An Angel Message

Driving through the little Florida town of Lake Helen, what a surprise to find this "make-shift" plane parked in a driveway.

"TRUST GOD"

You have to trust God to fly this contraption.

But there are far greater wings that support us when we ask and take us up to a higher plane of consciousness.   As in Psalm 91,"For he has given his angels charge over thee..."  Angels are God's thoughts passing to man.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

The Woodpecker: An Angel Message

(Woody across the street on 9-18-15)

This morning Elliot and I were surprised by a loud distinct whistle coming from across the street.  We had just stepped out the front door on our way to the lake.  With the zoom, I saw this red-headed beauty topping our neighbor's old lifeless tree.   The "call for a photo op" from this winged one seemed so deliberate that I looked up the symbolism of the woodpecker again.  The red crest reflects a stimulation, an awakening of new mental faculties.  The drumming indicates the power of rhythm and a need to follow our own unique "calling".  When a woodpecker shows up, you now have a solid foundation to move in any direction.

In Angel Messages - The Oracle of the Birds, Claire Nahmad writes:  "Trees especially the fig tree, are emblems of the Goddess, and when the woodpecker comes to you, Divine Mother holds you in her embrace of love and wisdom, and gently soothes and nurtures your soul bringing healing balm to your wounds, whether sustained from life's stony path, or from the process of growth and putting forth."

Thank you, Woody.  If you're reading this now, the message applies to you, too.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.  All is well.

Love and joyful blessings,

The Angel of Endurance

Before daybreak this morning, I went to the kitchen for water.  Reaching to turn on the little dolphin nite light, I accidentally knocked  over an empty glass on the counter.  As it crashed to the hard floor, I winced, turning my back for protection.  When I looked somehow the drinking glass was perfectly whole with not a sign of a crack.  I was impressed that it hadn't broken--it seemed unlikely --a high fall on a ceramic tile floor.  I can't explain the feeling as I stared at my favorite blue tumbler.  It did seem as though "someone" had my back, had me covered.  This experience gave me more strength --help is ever present.  When going through extreme pressure, I, too,  will not break.

Several years ago, I discovered this quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson in an angel  book.

It is in rugged crises, in unwearable endurance
and in arms which put sympathy
out of the question, that
the angel is shown.

In these challenging, changing times, we can all use a heavy dose of the power of endurance.  Endurance is a virtue that can strengthen our resolve to keep on keeping on.  Even Christ was strengthened by an angel in the garden before the soldiers came to take him away.

Discouragement is always a sign that we are relying on our own power and forgetting all the unseen angelic help just waiting for a call. The Angel of Endurance can enfold us with comforting wings and help us to push through any obstacle that is trying to hold back our heart's service.  Anselm Gruen, in his inspiring book, Angels of Grace, states: "In everything you complete there shines something of the completion that is in God."

So the next time you feel like giving up, know that you are not alone. Angels abound and the Angel of Endurance is by your side offering strength and courage to finish what you've started. We are so thankful for the presence of the Angels. Their loving comfort will guide us to become all that we truly are.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

The Pink Flamingo: An Angel Message

                             (Wikimedia Commons: Photo)

There's something special about pink flamingos that peaks the imagination and brightens the day. Recently I found a stash of large plastic ones at Lowe's. Joyfully they took up residence around the bird bath, adding a lovely shade of pink to the green garden.

In her book Angel Messages, The Oracle of Birds, Claire Nahmad tells us:

This beautiful exotic bird gains its fairy tale plumage from volcanic lakes and mineral spas which are warm and sulphurous.  It has gleaned an angelic harvest from the hot, explosive points upon the Earth's surface.  When we command the elemental furnaces within us in full consciousness of the directives of the spiritually-luminous soul, we shine with the beauty of the morning, with the poignancy of evening, and with the noon's full strength.  No foul or dismal weather oppresses us, and no storms shake our foundations.

She goes on to say:  The pink flamingo glows with the colour of the rose, which is an emblem of love both human and divine.

When I took this photo just now, a touch of synchronicity was at play as I noticed the nearby garden plaque:

Happiness
   lives
 in hearts that
    Love.

Enjoy a loving  day with your Angels.

Live the Questions: An Angel Message, Great Blue Heron

The great blue heron stood on a concrete slab this morning, ready to step out.  A symbol of having a "firm foundation" in which  to move out in any direction.  Heron brings a message of Self-determination and strong Self-reliance.  Life is full of mystery, but we are here to live it.   I couldn't help but notice the elongated neck and head, minus the beak,  resemble a question mark.  That pose reminded me of a favorite quote:

Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart
and try to love the questions themselves.
Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be
given you because you would not be able
to live them.  And the point is to live everything.
Live the questions now.  Perhaps you will then
gradually, without noticing it, live along some
distant day into the answers.

__Rainer Maria Rilke,
LETTER TO A YOUNG POET

The great blue heron, known as the king of the marsh, is the tallest of herons, and when in the air, its head arches back in the shape of an  "S".  An indicator to trust your own inner Spirit to know what is best for you and to follow it, rather than the promptings of others.  He flew across the lake before I could capture his graceful magnificent wingspan as I thanked him for the message to follow Spirit.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Remembering 9-11

Blue Heron - 9/11/15 Earl Brown Park

"My heart is beating in the peace of God."

Surrounding me is all the life that God created in His Love. It calls to me in
every heartbeat and in every breath; in every action and in every thought.
Peace fills my heart, and floods my body with the purpose of forgiveness."
Lesson 267, A Course in Miracles

On the drive to the park this morning, Main Street was lined with American flags.  The lake was still, the birds on land, waiting. Flocks of ibis and ducks ran toward us in hopes of a meal.  They peacefully congregated as we doled out handfuls of dry nuggets.  Satisfied, they walked on and so did we.  Elliot pointed out a beautiful blue heron on the hill, but I couldn't see it at first.  That's because I was looking in the wrong place, on the other side of the lake, thinking he meant "over there", but then I spotted it. Much closer, on our side, at the waters edge.    With the zoom, I captured the heron's  peaceful stance as she patiently waits, intent on the goal.

May we be as focused on the goal of peace today, recognizing that it is much closer than we think, it is in our every thought and action.  Our prayers go out to all the families who lost loved ones on September 11th.

Love and joyful blessings,

Rae Karen

Great White Heron - Angel Message

White Egret - 9/9/15 Earl Brown Park

This elegant Great Heron seemed to be posing near the path as Elliot and I began our walk today. Her stance reminded me of Vanna White and the letter "S" on The Wheel of Fortune.  When I got home, I learned that the white heron  bears the promise of purification and fulfillment on a more intense scale.  "The white heron speaks of the dazzling sun-centre of our being, the heart and the shining brow.  It speaks of the Bright Knowledge, and of spiritual achievement and healing beyond time and space."  (Angel Messages, The Oracle of the Birds by Claire Nahmad)

What joy to see how perfect this message follows the swan "pyramid of light" yesterday.

God speaks to us in nature and the "S" is a timely reminder to stay Spirit-minded.
It's wonderful to watch for what inspiration will unfold each day.  The more we tune-in, the more we will experience the joy of knowing that we are never alone.
Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Swan - Pyramid of Light: An Angel Message

What a surprise to see a pyramid of light formed by the shadow of this swan's graceful neck as she preened in the sunshine today.    In the dictionary, one definition for pyramid  is to increase rapidly step by step on a broad base. As shown in the photo, it is through the shadow that the foundation of light is seen.   I took this to be an encouraging message that as we go through our dark times, the inner light is already there waiting to shine out.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Cormorant: An Angel Message

Yesterday on my walk, I saw a pool of concentric circles emanating on the clear smooth lake, with no sign around of the source.   It looked like someone had tossed in  a stone creating a widespread rippling effect on the water. Then, up from the depths, emerged a large bird.  A cormorant!  After preening, he opened his expansive wings to air out in the breeze.  Or, maybe--he was showing the other birds how big the fish are in the deep.  "This BIG!"

This fisher bird has sometimes been called an underwater falcon.  I learned, too, that when one appears, it signals a need to dive  deeper for solutions.  Trust in your own methods--you will accomplish things in unique ways unlike others. You will reach your goal, but you must go deep within.

Enjoy your day with the Angels,

Love and joyful blessings,

Rae Karen

Tribute to Dr. Wayne Dyer - Free Showing of The Shift

As most of you know,  a beautiful soul passed on last Sunday.  Elliot and I watched Dr. Wayne Dyer's first movie The Shift  last night. A great expose on the ego.   This morning I learned that Hay House has made it available for free viewing on line this week.  If you haven't seen it yet, sit back and enjoy the shift of consciousness that takes place in this enlightening movie. You'll be glad you did.

On the Swingset - An Angel Message

                                       Photo from Wikimedia Commons

Sometimes it's fun to break out of the seriousness of adulthood and be like a child at play.  Remember the exhilarating feeling of simply swinging.  Moving back and forth, standing up tall on the moving board,  the wind in your hair.  You could almost reach out and touch the sky as you pumped higher and higher, before bailing out.

The dynamics of life can be explained in this simple skill.  At the low point, near the ground, one must stand tall in the swing, and at the height, one must bend, low at the knees, to keep the momentum up. A reminder to stand tall when feeling low, and when feeling high and mighty, humbly bend low.

Enjoy your time with the Angels.  Spend some time in childlike wonder.

Love and joyful blessings,

Rae Karen
