Keep on Shining: Angel Messages

Thank you for all your prayers for Florida.  What a roller coaster ride we're all on these days and I'm so thankful for the angelic help that abounds.  And the power of Psalm 91.  We were blessed to be safe with little rain and wind, nothing like the other hurricanes.

To prep for the storm, potted plants, garden statues, patio cushions were moved from the porch into the house.  Afterwards, I flopped down on the bed to rest.  That's when a lacy ethereal creature struck an unusual pose outside the bedroom window.

A delicate damselfly! She hugged the metal crook of the empty flower basket pole. I watched her put on a light show. She would fly off the tip of the rod, and soon return, hugging the post.  Over and over again, I watched her come and go in a deliberate dance that seemed like an angel message.  Finally, I got up to take a photo to share with you.

Later some light was shed on her visitation. Damselfly is often considered a harbinger of change, transformation, and adaptability.  A sign of encouragement to break free from self-imposed constraints so we can embrace the power of lightness and flexibility in our lives.

Damselfly is kin to the dragonfly which reminds us that we are light, and we can shine very powerfully. It's up to us.

And, early this morning, the super blue moon was shining through the bedroom window. With much objection from my flesh, I pushed through, and went out to take a photo before the clouds rolled in.

A bit of synchronicity happened later when I opened the Bible at random. Verses on light were highlighted in yellow:

"Ye are the light of the world.  A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid."  (Matthew 5:14)

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."   (Matthew 5:16)

During these dark times in human history, remember Jesus the Christ said, "Ye are the light of the world."

Let your light shine.

Love and peace,

Today's Forecast: An Angel Message

At dawn this morning, as I stepped outside to roll the trashcan down the driveway, three baby bunnies grazed by the oak tree nibbling on cracked corn.  They didn't mind the whirring wheels of the trash barrel.

I was amazed at the stillness in the air.  The  horizon glowed in pink and orange creating a touch of heaven in the air.  Just think, if I had put the trash out last night, I would have missed a golden dawn.  Today the weather forecast for Florida isn't so peaceful. A tropical storm or hurricane is in the winds, depending on the cone of uncertainty.

Times like this Psalm 91 helps me to find peace in the storms.  God is never uncertain. God never changes.  A higher truth, we live, and  breathe, and move in an atmosphere of divine Love.  We abide in the eternal noon.

The angels are with you, watching over you, and God has you tucked underneath his sheltering wings like a mama bird covers her chicks.

Love and peace,

Rae Karen

Quiet Reflection: An Angel Message

Lakeside visits from our sandhill crane family aren't as frequent, and I miss these stately prehistoric-looking birds that have inhabited the earth for 60 millions years. An epic line of creative longevity.

Recently, I caught a glimpse of Papa Sandhill standing in quiet reflection.  Soaking his feet in the cool, shallow waters among a cluster of tall yellow lilies.  A comforting picture of peace and stillness.

I remember Christ's teaching when it comes to worrying about tomorrow. (Matt. 6:28)

"Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: And yet, I say unto you, That even [King] Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these."

A comforting reminder that God knows all of our needs and provides daily for our sustenance when we abide in Him.

What is your guardian angel whispering to you today?  In the midst of turmoil, it's good to be still, and reflect on God's grace and mercy, to feel peace in the moment of outer chaos.  To dwell in the inner silence and be thankful that all is well with your soul.

Love and peace,

Rae Karen

Lesson from a Late Bloomer: An Angel Message

Early this summer, while Elliot and I were in Mount Dora for lunch, I spotted lush, bushy BIG marigold plants--laden with old blossoms begging to be dead-headed.    Planted at the entrance of a prestigious lakeside hotel parking lot, the flowers had been neglected.

The gardener in me kicked in...

From experience, I knew each deadhead secretly held an abundance of seeds ready to blossom into new life.  With a grateful heart, I took each precious one as if handling Mary's gold. Deadheading was a win-win.  I had rich seeds to plant in my garden. And, the hotel's marigolds had more energy to produce new blooms.

Well sadly, as often the case with the best of intentions, the marigold seeds were left in clay saucer to dry out on our front porch.  Then heavy winds and driving rain blew most of the seeds away. Even then, I delayed the planting, making excuses. Blazing heat, high humidity, a new flower bed needed digging.

Then one day it all came to a head while sweeping the porch, I got shaken awake as I stared with remorse at the few seeds in the dish, patiently waiting for a chance to bloom.

Laden with guilt, I got busy. Why hadn't I taken the time or energy to give the little marigold seeds a lease on new life?  Although late in the season, quickly I tucked them in a large terracotta pot with wild buttercups, and said a little prayer of forgiveness.

When the seeds sprouted, it warmed my heart.  To make up for lost time, the plants soon grew tall with lush green leaves, but no buds.  Then a short time later, the forgiving blossoms began to pop out. Big  golden marigolds buds opened in the sunshine. Sadly I realized the harvest could have been more plentiful--fields of golden yellow blooms, but the decision was left in my hands.

Nature is always teaching. And, this was a good lesson.  How often I began a good work full of great promise, gathering all the necessary resources, and yet something happens, the desire wanes, and the seeds lie fallow, never planted in good soil.

Just now I looked up the symbolism of Marigold.  The flower is tied to Mother Mary. It is a flower of fidelity and longevity.   It reminds us to the coming of important dreams. They remind us that sacrifices made will be for the best, although it may not appear so at the time.

The angels encourage us to finish the good work that God has begun in us.  With their help, we too will bloom where we are planted.

Love and peace,

Hidden Treasures: An Angel Message

Early this morning I felt my grandmother's presence around me while I was waking up.  Grandma was a strong woman of faith who had overcome many hardships in her life.  She's been on the other side since 1987, and so I was comforted by the reminder that Love never dies. It is eternal, and lives in our hearts.

Something amusing happened later on.  Since moving heavy flower pots a few days ago, I pulled a muscle in my leg so rather than hobble to get my Bible this morning, I grabbed Grandma's old Bible out of the cabinet by the porch for the daily lesson.

First thing, tucked away in the wrinkled pages I found a funny photo.  Mom's childhood pig, Susanna!  Kitty the cat was piggy-backing while Susanna snorted for food. An unlikely pair, they both shared Mom's love, and were family.

Another surprise turned up in Grandma's old Bible.  A portrait postcard.  A special delivery from the past. An amusing reminder that my family was fond of postcards long before I came along.  I stared at the faded memory of my sweet grandmother, a young mother, holding her first baby girl.  Posing by a budding bush, time seemed to stand still as I reflected upon her life on the farm and her great faith in the Lord.

I am so thankful to be comforted by these heavenly touches the angels deliver to strengthen our faith.  You never know what little heart treasures may pop up just when you need a powerful reminder that Love never fails.  It is indestructible and never dies. God is Love.

May you feel the comfort and grace of your angels enfolding you and all of your loved ones.  Love always makes a way.

Love and peace in Christ,

Finding Peace and Protection in the Storms: An Angel Message

Several weeks ago, out of the blue, an angel thought encouraged me to write about God's promises in the Book of Psalms. Psalms is the word for songs in the Bible.  Songs bring relief and peace in the storms of life. And during these unprecedented times of global transformation, I've found comfort and peace in reading Psalms, especially Psalm 91.

It was a good idea to strengthen my faith upon a rock that cannot be shaken, no matter what.  And, like most angel nudges, once I agreed, helpful resources began to pop up on my path in surprising ways. For instance, an impromptu trip to the library turned up a find.

A beautifully illustrated book called Lighthouse Psalms,  God's Gift of Hope and Direction stuck out on the shelf at the bookstore.  It rang a bell of synchronicity.   Many years ago, my husband and I had published a homespun monthly newsletter, The Lighthouse of Peace.

Smiling, I opened the Lighthouse Psalms book, and felt peace flowing from the words and beautiful  pictures.

Keep me as the apple of the eye,

hide me under the shadow of thy wings.

                             Psalm 17:8

I was sold, but there was more...

An old unused journal was tucked in a For Sale basket by the door.  A big clue. A lush green forest with a waterfall, had a sprinkle of psalm verses on the cover!  A blank book filled with lined pages just waiting for fresh ink.  Hah! no doubt the angels were working overtime to make sure I got the message.

How comforting to know we are never alone on this life journey. No way. The holy angels make our path straight and guide us to the resources needed to help us help them bring peace and comfort and love into our world. To bring light into the darkness, and shine.

My prayer for you today is to find the peace of God in the midst of whatever trial you may be facing.  Be certain that you are never alone. He has given his angels charge over you.   You can never be separated from the love of God, so rest and abide in the Shadow of the Almighty.  Fear not.   Keep shining like the lighthouse on the shore.  The best is yet to be.

For thou will light my candle:

the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness.

                                  Psalm 18:28

 Love and peace,

Rae Karen

Be An Angel Day, August 22, 2023

What joy to honor the angels today, and celebrate their presence with random acts of loving kindness.   In 1993, angel author Jayne Howard-Feldman established August 22 as National Be An Angel Day.  A special day to reach out and bless others.   Any small act of kindness goes a long way to bringing a touch of heaven to earth.

It takes a special someone
of a very special kind-

To touch our lives with tenderness,
warmth and love combined.

Your encouragement and comfort
you always seem to lend

It's what makes you so special
and such a true God-send.

So please accept this Angel
so you will always see

Just how special
you truly are to me.

Happy Be An Angel Day!

Calling on Angels during Disasters

With all the unprecedented weather and chaos in the world, it is comforting to know  hosts of heavenly angels are available to help humanity. In her book, Angels' Teachings, author Genevah Seivertson shares a simple and powerful way we can assist Angels during times of major disaster.

Genevah describes this special work as "corridor" work.  A corridor is a portion of spiritual substance that can be sent anywhere at a moment’s notice. The angels are anxious to help, but they need an open heart and mind of a soul to make the request before they can rush in.

Corridor work is impersonal and it should be used frequently to take care of large numbers of souls who are shocked out of their body in any type of major disaster. Those beings aren't unconscious, although their body is inert, each one realizes he or she is in a crisis.

Just as soon as we hear of a tragedy, we can make the call to send a Corridor to everyone involved by either verbally or mentally asking:

“Angels, please send a Corridor to ______ (location of need).”

As soon as we ask, we accept that our request has been answered and the celestial helpers are taking care of the work needed to be done. We give thanks for their loving assistance.

A peacefulness comes to those in crisis.  They know that there is no need for fear. The first recognition of danger is followed swiftly by a solution.

Genevah, with her gift of second sight, describes corridors as beautiful, large and lofty, filled with flowers, music, perfume, and the song of birds and rippling brooks. Corridors are  built with love, so the dear ones who cross over find nothing strange. The same kind of plants and flowers similar to those known by each individual is seen. Birds and animals are native to their locality.

A corridor provides a beautiful, peaceful transition, thanks to the angels' assistance, and your caring call for help. Prayers go out to all in need, especially those in Maui, Hawaii.

Love and blessings,

Rae Karen

When To Keep Your Mouth Shut: Angel Message

Lately, the angels have been working with me on the power of speech.  According to the ancient Talmud, the Creator instructed the angel Gabriel to write on the forehead of the righteous signs so no sabotage angels can harm them. So Gabriel, the judge of us all, discerns and marks an invisible "R" for righteousness when we curb our reactive behavior.

To hold our tongue is one of the hardest things to do especially when we think we're right. The ego always wants to have the final word.

I found this list of helpful verses on when to keep silent.  Usually a "find" such as this, is a heads-up. I'm about to be tested so be prepared.  Guard your mouth.

May an angel warning bell ring in my head before I open my mouth and speak without thinking.   Whosoever keepeth his mouth and tongue, keepeth his soul from trouble.  (Proverbs 21)

In the heat of anger - Proverbs 4:17

When it's time to listen - Proverbs 13:1

When you're feeling critical - James 3:9

When you don't have all the facts - Proverbs 18:13

If you can't speak without yelling - Proverbs 25:28

If the issue is none of your business - Proverbs 14:10

When you are tempted to joke about sin - Proverbs 14:9

When you haven't verified the story - Deut. 17:6

IF you may have to eat your words later - Proverbs 18:21

If your words would destroy a friendship - Proverbs 16:28

When you are tempted to tell an outright lie - Proverbs 4:24

If your words will offend a weaker person - I Cor 8:11

If your words would convey a wrong impression - Proverbs 24:24

If your words will damage someone's reputation - Proverbs 16:27

When you are tempted to make light of holy things - Ecclesiastes 5:2

If you've already said it more than one time (it's now nagging) - Proverbs 19:13

Have a peaceful day with the help of your Guardian Angel, and may you pass every test.

Love and peace,

Rae Karen

A Cheerful Lifesaver: Angel Message

Faith grows in a garden so the saying goes. The angels delivered a message of hope today.  Several years ago, this prickly stub cutting, the size of my not-so-green thumb was stuck in a flower pot on the porch in hopes of seeing a wonder of nature. I could hardly believe a plain little plant could grow up and produce an amazing bloom like a candy lifesaver.  But to my surprise, with little help from me, after many seasons, out popped a precious little lifesaver.  My faith grew stronger with proof, a sign to keep on believing in what is yet to be seen.  A promise.

While sweeping the porch this morning, my attention was drawn to the potted cactus on the shelf.  I counted not one, but seven perfectly symmetrical little blossoms!  Like cherry lifesavers, they sweetened my day with hope. The friend who gifted me with the cactus cutting is facing some physical challenges.  It was a good omen.   Each bud,  equal in size, and perfect in symmetry.  Seven is a number of perfection.  A reminder to never give up, just keep on doing your best day by day, and have faith the best is yet to be.

I'm grateful to the angels for their tireless support, and all the little love notes they sprinkle throughout our day. Messages to uplift and warm our hearts.

Love and peace,

Rae Karen

Divine Afflatus: An Angel Message

The past few weeks, the word enthusiasm has been a recurring angel thought bubbling up.  The original definition meant "as being filled by divine afflatus (which is to blow upon or toward)."  A little cherub statue is a perfect illustration.  Filled with divine afflatus, he blows a kiss.

The Greeks spoke of ecstasy meaning to be "out of yourself" and enthusiasm "to be in God".  Happiness is an inside job.

Enthusiasm is a choice. A decision that we get to do something rather than have to do something.  A simple change in attitude makes a world of difference.  Sometimes it begins by choosing to sing, or dance, break out of the routine.  Reach out to a friend.   Send a card. Paint a picture.  A little willingness to follow your passion as best as you can will help to break out of a slump.

Just by remembering the word enthusiasm, a feeling can stir within; an awakening that bubbles up, adding effervescence to life.

There is truth to that old saying. "Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm."   (Ralph Waldo Emerson)

May your day be filled with an abundance of divine afflatus, filling you up with joy, peace, love, harmony, and good will from your angel to share with the world.  You are never alone. Isn't it wonderful to know you have a guardian angel to accompany you as you go about your day.  Rejoice! The best is yet to be.

Love and peace,

 Rae Karen

Leaps of Faith: Angel Message

I get excited when the angels plan a surprise, a confirmation to a message, to make sure I really get it.  In a follow-up to yesterday's angel blog on the nudge, first thing this morning a visitor was at the back porch door.  A friendly little green grasshopper! Hugging the screen door, he peeked into the porch. Something was up.  It's been years since a grasshopper leaped into my life, and this one was a healing light green.

The happy little messenger had staying power and patience as I went about my morning chores.  Watering the flowers, feeding the wild bunnies.  He didn't mind posing for a photo op to share with you.

Grasshopper symbolizes taking leaps of happiness, but I wanted to know more.  Here's what I found out:

Grasshopper - Have faith.  New leaps of  happiness are coming.  Listening to your own inner voice brings success.  Refusing to move creates problems.  (Animal-Speak, Pocket Guide, Ted Andrews)

The visit was divinely timed.  After Elliot and I did our usual morning prayers and meditation on the porch, I opened my eyes, the grasshopper was gone.  His mission complete.  And, I got it.

When we listen to our inner voice and follow, wonderful things will happen, but it takes a leap of faith, for sure.  A willingness to be still and take a break from constant news and the rushing pulse of social media so we can hear the best way to proceed.

Like the little grasshopper, on the outside screen grid, looking in, all it takes is a little willingness on our part to be still and go within, and listen for guidance.

Have a blessed day with your Angels, and enjoy the hopeful messages they bring to you along the way.

Love and peace,

Rae Karen

Follow the Nudge: An Angel Message

My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.
--Psalm 62

Webster's dictionary defines nudge: to touch or push gently; to seek the attention of by a push of the elbow. I believe the angels define it it as "Pay attention to this now." When we start to feel this angel nudge, it's a good thing that comes from deep within.  God needs us to act on something. It may happen at the "now" moment needed, or sometimes it's days, weeks, or months before we need to move on it.

This feeling of being pushed is a sure way for success of some kind. It's not outlined or premeditated. A welling up of moving energy inside happens spontaneously, and we can't help but move with the angel nudge.  At times it's a little overwhelming because we may do or say something a little or a whole lot out of character. The impulse is so strong.  You just do it, whatever "it" is. Your spiritual intuition is in charge and your logical mind becomes the witness to the activity.

I remember a time when silently mulling over a problem while riding in the car.  An angel nudge directed me to a man walking on the sidewalk downtown.  Psalm 62 in bold letters was on the back of his shirt. The timing seemed important.  Curious, I made a mental note to look it up later at home.

Turns out, I didn't need to wait that long.  Elliot and I spontaneously stopped for lunch at a local restaurant. While waiting for our order, an angel thought nudged. Check out the donations for sale on the bookcase in the lobby.

I was glad I listened.  I'd forgotten all about Psalm 62 as I browsed through the books on the shelves, but the angels delivered.

There on the shelf was an old red book, Notes on the Psalms! I returned to the table, beaming. "Look what I found."

"The angels are talking to you!" Elliot smiled.

As I silently read notes on Psalm 62, a peaceful calm came over me.

"My soul waiteth in silence for God only:
From him cometh my salvation.
He is my rock and my salvation:
He is my high tower; I shall not be greatly moved.
... Trust in him at all times...
...Pour out your heart before him."

God's love seemed close as I closed the book in gratitude.  It was the answer I needed.  Trust God.

Whenever you are not sure about doing something, allow time for God's angels to give you the nudge. There are rhythms in life that we don't always know about. He does. Trust Him. He's extremely accurate, always and the results bring peace.

Also it's important not to hold back out of fear when it's time to take action. Divine timing is at work. As we learn to attune to, and trust the nudge, our faith will grow stronger and we will have peace, knowing that all is well with our soul. "For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways."  (Psalm 91:11)

Love and joyful blessings,

Psalm 84, An Angel Message

I love the vision of this beautiful artwork on the web; a perfect companion to a favorite Bible verse in Psalm 84:

For the Lord God is a sun and shield:
the Lord will give grace and glory;
no good thing will he withhold from them
 that walk uprightly.

How comforting to know that we can never be separated from the Love of God. No matter where we are or what we're doing, we are constantly bathed in the effulgence of Infinite Love.

Let us throw open all the hidden doors of our mind and let the Light shine in and dispel the darkness. The Angels stand at the thresh-hold, shielding us from every error.  Confusion gladly dissolves into Truth. God is Love.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Love and blessings,

Rae Karen
