The Egg Hatched! Happy Easter!

Elegant gray birds with long legs and necks, Sandhill cranes are among the tallest birds in the world, and capable of flying at great heights.   For the last several months, only one crane would come by our yard at a time, and not the usual pair always seen together.  At first this was a  concern that something may have happened to the other mate, but an angel thought brought peace. An egg was in the works, and they each were taking a turn of duty warming the nest.

On Saturday morning, what joy to see the egg had hatched in time for an Easter celebration. New life was roaming in the pasture.  A sweet picture of grace and patience rewarded.  The family of three was out and about enjoying a stroll for food in the sunshine.

Wishing you a Happy Easter!  Hallelujah! A season of rebirth, joy, and resurrection.  A celebration of the eternal gift of Divine Love through the living Christ.

Love and joy,

Rae Karen

A Surprise Visitor on the Threshold: An Angel Message

I'm always thankful for the angel messages that catch you off-guard, but are delivered at the perfect time.  On Wednesday,  I was in a hurry to run errands when I opened the door and spotted a surprise visitor at the threshold!  It's not everyday you find a tiny little ladybug on your front step, waiting on welcome.  And, this baby had yet to earn a spot on her shiny red wings.

Synchronicity was at play.  Ladybugs are a happy sign that my mother in heaven is near, and these cheerful little messengers show up when most needed.

I welcomed the good luck symbol and message of grace and life eternal.   In French, ladybug means good God's animal; in Spanish, it means little Mary; in German, Mary's beetle, and in English she's known as ladybird.

Waiting at the door, my thoughts turned to Mother Mary, and her faithful trust in our heavenly Father as she waited on the threshold for Christ to rise from the tomb, and open the door to life eternal for all God's children to receive.  This week is about resurrection, new beginnings.

May you feel the blessings of Easter-tide lifting you up this week, and always.

Love and peace,

Rae Karen

A "Long Haul" Angel Message

Yesterday morning, an early run for a 50-lb. bag of cracked corn delivered a surprise for the long haul as we inched along in a steady stream of rush-hour traffic.  Pulling into the feed store parking lot, I didn't notice the angel message on a 60-ft. semi-truck parked beside us.

It wasn't until later, backing out with the goods for our duck friends, my attention was drawn to a simple truth, and a BIG DELIVERY:

"Jesus. . . Our Leader".  It was written in blue on the right, rear panel of the unhitched Semi truck. A faded emblem of "Old Glory", unfurled in the breeze, was up front, on the left-side panel of the 18-wheeler, filled with deliveries.

I was thankful for the comforting reminder.  God is our supply.  During these times of shifting sands, I welcomed the powerful reminder to stand firm on the Rock of our foundation, Jesus Christ... Our Leader. Put all your faith and trust in Him to deliver you during the long-haul home.

Love and peace,

Rae Karen

A Gentle Reminder from a Rabbit

An animal's eyes have the power
to speak a great language.
                    --Martin Burber

A Rabbit Noticed My Condition

I was sad one day and went for a walk;
I sat in a field.
A rabbit noticed my condition and came near.
It often does not take more than that to help at times--
to just be close to creatures
who are so full of love that they don't chat,
they just gaze with their marvelous understanding.

--St. John of the Cross   (Love Poems from God)

It's comforting to realize we're always in the presence of Divine Love.   Even in our darkest hour, Love has sent an angel to entertain us unaware.

Peace to you today as you draw closer to your angels, and remember God loves you now and always.

A Funny Easter Bunny: An Angel Message

On a Sunday drive through a nearby neighborhood, something funny and light-hearted caught my eye in a big way.  This giant concrete tortoise lawn ornament was on parade, wearing bright pink bunny ears and a colorful jellybean necklace to celebrate Christ's victory on Easter.   A reminder that it's darkest before the dawn, so keep moving forward toward the goal, and never give up until you cross the finish line.  Don't lose faith.

Have a blessed Holy Week.  The best is yet to be.

Love and peace,

Rae Karen

Full Moon of Spring: Angel Message

The full moon stirred me awake at 3:00 a.m. bursting through the bedroom window slats in bright light.

Later, before dawn, I saw Bella Luna aglow, a radiant golden ball of light framed between the "V" shape arms of an old oak in the pasture.

God is the friend of silence.

See how nature...
trees, flowers, grass
grow in silence.
See the stars, the moon and sun
how they move in silence.
The more we receive in silent prayer
the more we can give in our active life.
We need silence to be able to touch souls.
                               --Author Unknown

Creation is the keynote of this beautiful resurrection season. Like a seed pushing its way out of the earth, spring is when our creative energies can be expressed towards a brand new beginning.

Love and peace,

Loved Ones Shining Down: Angel Message

It never ceases to amaze me how much we're all connected by golden strands of light woven through precious moments in time.

Before Mom passed on in 2014, I made a request...that if she could ...to please let me know that she was happy in heaven.  I thought maybe a lamp would flicker or a special flower may bloom, but something more tangible arrived two weeks later that took me by surprise.

A package arrived in the mail, with no note from the giver.  I opened it up and discovered a loving message of light.  A confirmation of my request!  A beautiful angel figurine, arms extended upward,  holding a single bright star.  The inscription on the angel's flowing gown was comforting, and had my mother's touch.  Her love had reached through the veil, and a rush of tears flowed.

Perhaps they are not Stars,
but rather openings
where our Loved ones
shine down to let us
know they are
Happy.

This morning when I went to open the living room drapes, Mom's happy Star Angel caught my attention in a big way.  Her silhouette graced the top of the curio cabinet where the dolls of the world abide.

I was thankful to begin a new day with that loving reminder...

Love and peace,

Hitching a Ride: An Angel Message

Coming out of the bank, my attention was drawn to a strange sight on our car in the parking lot.  A tiny light green inchworm was suspended on a fine invisible thread that dangled from the rear wheel panel.  How had he survived? I wondered. Maybe he'd caught a ride down the street when we stopped for cracked corn at the feed store.

This tiny little hitchhiker was creating in the wrong place with big plans to move in miles not inches down the road.  Concerned for his safety, I picked him up.  I could feel his wiggles tickle my cupped hand as I swiftly escorted him to safety in the shade of a palm tree by the bank parking lot.  Soon the wayward inchworm was back on track.  Grounded in familiar terrain, he soon got his bearings, and began to inch forward, bit by bit.

His peculiar behavior was one of those angel messages from nature. Back at home, I learned more about the inchworm.  A symbol of patience, persistence, and adaptability.  A reminder that as we move through life's challenges, with grace and tenacity, to keep inching toward our goal no matter how challenging the circumstances may be.

When an inchworm appears, it's a message to stay grounded and connected to our environment.  To slow down, and pay attention to the small details in our life.  Take in all the goodness and beauty available in every moment.

Remember you are never alone.  What angel messages are coming to you today?  The more we attune to the angelic realm, the louder the volume, and we begin to live and move in a world of wonder as we slowly move about in the most ordinary ways.

Love and peace,

Rae Karen

Reflections of self: An Angel Message

It's 52 degrees--chilly here today.  The warm sun and the cold water united in a smoky mist rising up from the lake.  A pair of Muscovy ducks were sipping water in their morning reflection.  The view brought to mind an older blog on reflections of self.

Several years ago while on a mini-vacation, the hot sun reflecting off the waves sent me dashing across the street for an inexpensive pair of sunglasses.  I'd misplaced my good pair.

The selection at the souvenir shop was slim and I grabbed a pair of of silver mirrored sunglasses without giving it much thought. When I got back to the beach Elliot grinned, not fond of the style.  "Where did you get those?"

"Watch what you say!" I laughed.  "You can't see me, you're talking to yourself in the mirrored lens!"

The sunglasses became a funny teaching tool as I wondered what if my own thoughts were so easily reflected back to me when talking with others?  What I said to them I was saying to myself first.  I recalled a quote about this from the past.

"Faults found in others are reflected first in self."
                                        -- Edgar Cayce

Elliot and I had fun, bantering back and forth, wearing the sunglasses and making dramatic faces.  I was left with the impression to pay attention.  Do you know what your face is doing?

The next morning, my Yogi teabag tag brought a smile.

Recognize
that the other
person is you.

It turns out, the glare of my own reflection is what I need the most protection from when basking in my ego's limelight.

Enjoy your day with the  angels. I hope I remember to do a face check every now and then throughout the day. Love is reflected in love.

Love and blessings,

Rae Karen

Angel of Faith

It's most comforting when angels spontaneously deliver messages of hope and faith just when most needed and in a way that reveals more is happening than meets our understanding in the moment.  I believe that Faith is what is needed most enduring this dark hour in human history when we discover that we are Light.

Last Friday a sweet elderly angel friend stopped by unexpectedly with a surprise present.  Her timing was in divine order for reasons I won't go into, but I knew something was up when I opened the gift box and held the Angel of Faith praying.  She was an answer to my prayer.

The quote on the bottom of the Angel of Faith, Guardian of Prayer read:

"It is better in prayer to have a heart
without words than words without heart."
                           -Gandi

Her visit touched my heart and gave me more courage.

But more was to come...

The next morning, the angels were at it again.

I noticed Hei-Hei, our cat, chewing on a plastic wrapper in a basket on the wicker trunk beside his perch.  That's when I found this prayer card. I don't remember where it came from, but the word FAITHFULNESS jumped out at me as this is not the version of Psalm 91 I know by heart.  The message was in divine order.  FAITHFULNESS and the ANGEL of FAITH were perfect companions reinforcing the need to have FAITH no matter what.

Then, this morning, more Faith appeared while taking photos to share with you.  Without much thought, I moved the Angel of Faith from the cabinet and placed her by the seashell lamp. That's when I noticed the smooth black FAITH rock beside her.  I had to shake my head in a moment of light humor planned by the angels.

Three Faiths! It's no doubt that my hardheadedness makes the angels work overtime to drill the message into my consciousness.

FAITH. FAITH. FAITH.

Now faith is the substance of things
 hoped for, the evidence of
things not seen.
                     --Hebrews 11:1

I'm so thankful to our loving angels, and their encouraging message to CHOSE FAITH over fear.  Believing is seeing.   Don't lose your faith in the indwelling Christ. The best is yet to be.

Love and peace,

Rae Karen

Happy Bird Day: An Angel Message

While visiting St. Augustine last week to celebrate Elliot's special birthday, the birds came out to make sure he had a very Happy Bird Day.

A bald eagle perched on top of the 208-ft. Great Cross. A symbol of freedom and spiritual power when we take our consciousness to the next level. Focus on things spiritual, not material.

A lone  hawk landed on a tree limb in the early morning sunshine.  Get ready for an opportunity coming your way.

In the afternoon, a hungry lone pelican swooped down on the pier, tussling with two fishermen over a big silvery fish.   They shouted and shooed it away. That big beautiful pelican took to the blue sky, circling the inlet. I had a feeling he wasn't ready to quit just yet. He'd be back again. And, so it was fun to see him circle back toward the pier and land on the railing by the two men. This time the wise bird patiently waited with longing big eyes. I was going to buy a fish from them, but it wasn't necessary.  The men had a change of heart, and tossed a blue fish from their ice chest to the pelican who caught it in mid air and swallowed the whole fish in one hardy gulp.  His long neck stretched and shivered to force it down the hatch. Satisfied, he rested on the pier beside the two fishermen.

Pelicans symbolize renewed buoyancy. No matter how difficult life gets, or how deep down you plunge, you will pop to the surface, unsinkable.  A perfect message for the times we live in:  Rise above life's trials.   Water represents emotions, and often our emotions weigh us down.  The pelican teaches not to be overcome by them.

More birds were in the air.  Leaving the pier, a chorus of little cheerful song birds perched atop the dolphin gateway added joy to the day and looked like musical notes on a scale.

And, a delicious lunch at an outdoor Mediterranean restaurant, our table was perfectly positioned by a tall  angel statue holding a little bird in her hands. All in all, it was the tweetest birthday for my favorite bird lover, a song bird himself.

By feeding the ducks first thing each morning the past six months, we wondered if that contributed to the trill of such a memorable Bird Day.  A wonderful reminder to watch where we put our focus because it will show up in our life.   Our thoughts are things...and what we feed grows, so look for the love and the harmony.

Have a blessed day with your angels.  Remember GOD LOVES YOU.

Joy and peace,

Rae Karen

Uncanny Leaps Forward: An Angel Message

Sunday afternoon, I ran inside to grab the phone, when I returned to my green folding chair, my seat had been taken by an unusual visitor.  A large sandy brown grasshopper hugged the metal arm rest as if holding my place.

When our photo op was over, in one giant leap he made great strides in a single bound, and landed on a wild buttercup plant across the way.  Buttercup is a flower of faith and hope, and easily adapts to any environment.

The timing of his animated behavior made me curious as to the angel message from nature.  Turns out, uncanny leaps forward is the keynote of the grasshopper. That is how it can escape.  With tremendous jumping ability they leap horizontally twenty times their body length.  When one appears it could mean it's important to get off your haunches and move.  Take a chance.  Leap forward.  Listen to your own inner voice to know when to make a move in any area of your life.

Remember a grasshopper always leaps up or forward, never backwards.

Have a joyful day with your angels, and take a leap of faith when the time feels right.

Love and peace,

Rae Karen

After the Storm: An Angel Message

Heavy rain and thunder claps woke me up last night.  Protection prayers went out to all those little creatures caught up in stormy weather.  Rather than be fearful, I focused on the beautiful new dawn that was coming in the morning.  A special day when family will visit from out of state.  A long overdue reunion.

This morning I woke up to the sweet song of a bird outside the bedroom window.  And, later a glorious  golden-orange sunrise peeked through the trees in scintillating rays like a 4th of July sparkler.

The storm was a distant memory.  I was not disappointed to greet the new day.

But more was to come...

During a quiet time of reflection in the sun-room, our cat, Hei-Hei, perked up and dashed to the window.

Curious, I took a look.

A young turkey had come calling...pecking at corn kernels on the lawn.  The first gobbler to visit this year. It's always a thrill to see a wild turkey roam free in the yard. A signal for me to give thanks for all things.   I was thankful the storm passed, and the morning was abundantly rich with the beauty of nature.

And to prove thoughts are things... no sooner did I mention missing the rabbits who haven't been around at all this spring, as if on cue, one appeared, then another, and another!  Soon there were four animated little cotton-tails hopping around the front yard.  Spring had sprung.  Renewal, rebirth, and resurrection are in the air.  Get ready. The best is yet to be.

It's not easy to capture four rascally rabbits in action...but it goes to show there is an abundance of  hope  with our faith in Christ, the Holy Spirit and the angels.

Love and peace,

Rae Karen

Dabbling Ducks! An Angel Message

The angels were at again, adding a touch of humor to the morning.  Our favorite and only mallard couple were putting on a show.   Side by side, rear-ends up in the air. Heads down below the water.  Something was up as we watched their unusual antics -- tipping and dipping in and out of the lake.  A glimpse of Upside Down Life in motion--something we all are experiencing during these strange times.

Their activity reinforced the cormorant message in the last angel blog.  A signal to go deeper if you would like to have a new birth.

The comical sight of the two playful mallards was a heads-up.

The message became clearer when I later learned they are called  Dabbling Ducks.  Rather than playing they're on a quest to reach as far under the water as they can for sustenance.  Dipping in and out of the water their bills are seeking for edible aquatic vegetation and insects.

Dabbling Ducks, really?  On a personal level, I'm guilty of dabbling, dipping in and out of something, making little dips up and down, without any real determination to complete something that I know I should tackle.  Overwhelmed, I often just go through the motions. Dabbling.

Today, hopefully I will begin to sink down below the surface, and work on finishing a project that interestingly enough involves my dear feathered friends.

Have a joyful day with your angels.  Remember you are never alone.  Expect the best, and go deep, and look for the good like you would a pearl of great price.

 Love and peace,

Rae Karen

Out of the Mists: An Angel Message

It's not often we wake up to a thick misty morning when the ordinary takes on an aura of mystery. The day's sunny complexion is veiled from the light of a sun rise.  A touch of mystery stirs the air as the familiar becomes strangely unfamiliar in a fog.

This morning our usual trip to feed the ducks cast a different, yet lovely, vision of peace as I stood by the lake and looked out at the still waters.  A time of beautiful reflection.   I watched a lone cormorant stretch out her wings in a waterlogged tree to welcome the birth of a new day.

Cormorants are known to be expert divers and swimmers.  When one appears in our life, it's a clue to dive in to what we have been hesitating about. Like this deep diver, we will be able to dive and swim in areas of our life where we wouldn't think possible. A cormorant, an ancient bird that dates back to the Bible, signals it's time for us to dive in deeper if we wish to have a new birth.   If you are willing to go deeper, answers will be found.

It's interesting that this bird must swallow pebbles to make itself heavy enough to stay under water.  So when a cormorant appears, it means a new opportunity or teaching will come our way to help us accomplish what didn't seem possible.

The angels help us to do the impossible when we follow their loving guidance, and step out in faith.  God speaks to us through nature.  I was thankful for the message.  While things are a little foggy just now,  clarity will come if we keep the faith, and do our best to follow through on what we know we need to do. Love will always make a way, but we must be willing to venture out into the deep and cast our nets.

The best is yet to be.

Love and peace,

 Rae Karen

When a Cardinal Appears...

On a gray Saturday afternoon, a sudden splash of colorful red feathers in the birdbath was no doubt an angel message.

The timing was in divine order.   I'd been praying hard, in the midst of an inner melt-down, trying to find peace in an annoying situation when my son called out to me.

Come and see a cardinal...bathing in the birdbath.

Immediately, my spirits lifted as if my prayer was answered.  A cardinal is my sign that my departed mother is near whenever one appears.  I ran to the window to see for myself.

Whenever a bird or an animal crosses our path in a conspicuous way, it's good to pay attention.  Their behavior in the moment is part of the message or lesson.

I grabbed my camera, and zoomed out through the living room window.  Not sure what I'd get, I asked the angels for help as I steadied the focus.  The red cardinal was putting on a show.  Heavy rains had splattered most of the water out of the bath.  He kept trying his best to squat down low and have a good soak in what water was available, which he enjoyed for a long time.

I was in for another surprise.  Later the larger uploaded photos had captured more detail.  What a funny expression that little fellow had glaring up at me, with a look of annoyance. Was I disturbing his peace? I wondered.  Or, was his message, to choose again?  Focus on the best, and be thankful for all the good already present in each moment.

Mom, known for her sense of humor, had done it again. My mood shifted, coming up higher.

In Animal-Speak:  "The cardinal's presence reflects a time to renew our vitality.  It reflects lessons in developing and accepting a new sense of our own true self-importance."

I was thankful for the cardinal visit.  Renewal of vitality...a time to immerse myself in a new way of developing my true value, and those around me as God truly created each of us to be.

Have a joyful day with your angels.  Remember whatever you're going through, you are not alone-- no matter where you find yourself.  Right there in the midst, unseen heavenly help is waiting, ready to comfort, guide, and refresh. God loves you now and always.

Love,

Rae Karen
