Let There Be Light!

                                         (Earth Photo: Wikimedia Commons)

Last night, sitting up in bed, what a surprise when across the bedroom, the antique floor lamp came on by itself!

"Let there be Light!" I nervously laughed.

The timing was uncanny. I'd been saying a prayer of gratitude for everything.  The funny thing is that during the week, I tried several times to turn on that lamp switch, with no success.  Somewhat annoyed, I wondered if Elliot had unplugged the cord.

So, when the light came on, immediately I recognized it was a message from my mother on the other side. The lamp and the chair beside it were hers before she passed on.

There was another curious incidence with electricity yesterday, Michaelmas Day.  Our clothes dryer turned off without the usual buzzer timer.  When I went to the laundry room to check on the towels, the dryer door was wide open! The timer dial still set on.

 "Hi, Mom" I smiled.

This morning I came across this passage on light that I'd scrawled in my old journal from A Course in Miracles:

"The light of truth shines from the center of the situation, and touches everyone to whom the situation's purpose calls.  It calls to everyone. There is no situation that does not involve your whole relationship in every aspect and complete in every part.  You can leave nothing of yourself outside it and keep the situation holy."

I love it.  The Holy Spirit is asking us to remember that we are all One with God.  There are no separate thoughts. When we join in Oneness, all the power of the universe is with us.  Darkness is swallowed up in the Light of Divine Love and Truth. We are spiritual beings having a physical experience.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

An Angel Message: Divine Order in the Universe

Photo: Wikimedia Commons

Have you ever noticed that in the search for something you tucked away, you often come across something else that you didn't know you needed but it struck a chord in you.  That's what happened to me yesterday.  While looking through a box of old journals, I found an article about the stars and planets, entitled Divine Order in the Universe.  I kept it out, and went about my day.

After lunch, while browsing the books at a local thrift shop, I found a beautiful book of Hubble photos in space, called The Hand of God.  I've always been fascinated by the stars so I bought the book and put it on the coffee table.

Later, I read the article on Divine Order in the Universe (that had been written in 2002) I was surprised that it referenced the astronomy book I just purchased, The Hand of God.

Stringing the titles together became a wonderful message: With the Hand of God, there is divine order in the universe. When you look up at the night sky, there is harmony and order in the movement of the universe. As above, so below.

I love when synchronicity comes into play; a comforting feeling that God knows our every need before we even do.  He is our Life, the Source within, the air we breathe, the food that sustains us, the water that cleanses us ; the thoughts we think.

Synchronicity is often described as meaningful coincidences that manifest based upon our intent or energy vibration.  Through our vibrations we attract things, people, and circumstances which closely match our own frequency.  With our focus on the divine, paths open up and life moves in the ease of harmony and effortless accomplishment.  Like the stars, we are here to shine our light and bring joy and beauty to others.  Angels, the forget-me-nots of the universe, are present waiting for an invitation to guide our way.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Rae

Eggs: The Birth of the Autumn Solstice

                                Saint Augustine, FL

Yesterday we had plans to go to the play Hello Dolly at the Shoestring Theater. But rather than spend the Autumn Solstice indoors, we opted to take a  drive up the coast.  It must have been a good choice as a bald eagle soared at the exit to Saint Augustine. The city is picturesque with plenty of attractions. We love to visit the sanctuary grounds at Our Lady of La Leche shrine, the oldest mission in the U.S.

As we sat down on a stone bench in the shade of an old tree, a large silvery fish leaped high out of the lake making a hearty splash.  A rookery of white birds nested in the trees on the island across the way. With my camera zoom, I can see they are wood storks.  It's amazing when we make time to appreciate nature, she comes rushing in.  Storks are known for delivering new birth.

Lately my dreams have been about eggs.  I find them in strange places; a wicker suitcase in an open trunk of a car. A large colorful egg like a painted gourd in the back of a pickup truck. I wondered about the wisdom of where these eggs were laid.

Eggs are symbols of new life; new birth, opening to a wider vision. Expansion.  Last night I had another healing dream, maybe it came from spending the day in nature, watching the birds.  In my dream I am sitting on a bench by an inlet.  I gaze up at the moon, almost full.  When I look down, a large bird is in my lap and I'm petting it like I do my cats.  Surprised by own reaction, I  call to Elliot (my husband) to look at what's happened.  The bird has brownish feathers like a turkey and is quite content to roost in my lap.

So the Autumn Equinox with Archangel Michael brings blessings.  It's time to open our hearts and allow  a new birth.  The angels are the loving midwives waiting to assist with the delivery of our creative endeavors.

The angels nudged me to double check the spelling of La Leche at the website.  I had to smile when I read, Our Lady of La Leche Shrine means (Our Lady of the Milk and Happy Delivery).  Under a canopy of oaks and cedar trees this area is often referred to as America's Most Sacred Acre.

Enjoy your day with the Angels,

The Garden Angel & A Firefly

I keep this little garden angel on the windowsill overlooking the meditation garden. A gardening friend gifted it to me when she heard I accidentally stepped on a garden rake. The handle had popped up and whacked me on the head.  When it happened, I quickly told myself God is love. This is not His Will for me. By knowing the truth rather than giving into the pain, I had good results.  Not even a bruise or a bump. Thankfully, I learned a lesson on watching where I leave my garden tools and where I place my feet when working in the yard.

Several days ago, this little garden angel brought another message.  I looked down by her on the windowsill and saw a small winged one trying to get outdoors.

A  firefly!  Her presence sparked a touch of childlike joy.  Holding out my finger, I softly told her, "I'll take you outside."  But she wasn't interested in my help.  I watched her flit up higher on the window pane. Again,  I placed my finger near her, offering her great freedom.

To my delight, this time she climbed aboard.

Gently, cupped in the palm of my hand, I ran to the backdoor.  As I gently opened my hand in the sunshine, I could feel the warmth of her gratitude as that little firefly happily flew away, leaving a smile on my face.

I recalled that fireflies look like an ordinary bug during the day, but at night they flicker, bringing hope and joy.   When one appears it is a sign to honor the creative ideas flickering in our mind.  Also it is important to remember that the light is always within us as we go through any dark challenges.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

An Angel Message: Lizard to Go...Or Let Go

( Photo I took last year on the fence)

Driving your car, you notice something move across the windshield and cling to the wiper blade.  To your surprise it's a lizard; holding on, head high, riding in the wind.  Some messages from nature are more subtle than others. When they are not, you know it's a deliberate message for you.

That's what happened yesterday on our way to lunch in Orange City.  "Hold on," we told him, slowing down and stopping at the nearest nature spot we could find.  I felt sad that he would be a long way from home, but we had no choice.  Instead of being grateful for his reprieve, to our dismay he ran underneath the car. Having done our best, we asked the angels to watch over him. We had to let go of the outcome.

A short time later while eating lunch at the Mexican restaurant, my attention was drawn to a gigantic century cactus outside our window.  On a long thick frond, I spotted a lizard! It looked like our little hitch-hiker. When I told Elliot to look, the lizard's throat billowed in bright red as if saying "Thanks, here I am."  A friend once told me that's a sign of love.  The cactus was near our car and so we laughed, happy to see that he was safe.

Lizard is symbolic of detachment. When under attack a lizard will snap off its own tail to fool his predator. This way he can make a quick get away before he gets swallowed up.  The tail will eventually grow back, but in its wisdom lizard teaches that sometimes you have to lose your tail to get ahead.  Lizard also teaches to let go of old fears. It can help us make a break from the past.  It may indicate a need to explore new realms and to follow your own guidance before you get swallowed up in what's not beneficial for you.

I thought the lizard energy was finished for the day, but to my surprise I saw a tiny baby lizard on the roof of our car as were were going out  He was so adorable, looking up at me as I offered him a ride on a leaf.  He jumped on willingly, but before I could lay it down he playfully scampered up my arm and then jumped into the grass. I was thankful that I'm no longer afraid of lizards (as I wrote in previous blogs) That's one fear they helped me get over.  Love is always the answer. Love knows the way.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.  It's fun to pay attention to what nature may be trying to teach you.

Love and blessings,

Rae

The Angel of Wisdom

(Owl I photographed outside my window February 2014)

Early this morning I was awakened by the rousing call of an owl,  Whooo Whooo Whooo!

There's an old saying, wise as an owl.  This night bird has great vision and hearing, being able to successfully navigate in the darkness to meet its needs.  The owl is a symbol of the moon and the night, the feminine. It is in the darkness that we often gain our most wisdom as we discover that we are the Light.

Later wisdom came again when my random angel card for today was  The Angel of Wisdom.

This angel is the bearer of God's wisdom for all who willingly embrace her.  When we can open ourselves up to the depths of our experience, the Angel of Wisdom will help us gain wisdom by knowing what is true for us.

Wisdom is gained by reflecting, integrating, and understanding our personal experiences. What is the lesson?

This awareness will deepen our spiritual connection and help us to grow.  The trials we face can become stepping stones to a higher consciousness, if we let them.  All things work together for good...

It says in the Bible that wisdom is more valuable than gold. Get wisdom.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Love and blessings,

Rae Karen

Mending Fences: The Angel of Openness

This morning my angel card was the Angel of Openness.  "Let it all in," came to mind as I looked at her wide open arms.  "Don't hold back the love that is ever present. Don't block it with your self-imposed barriers. Let it in!" was her message.

A short time later while watering the meditation garden,  I was enjoying the serenity of this little sacred space. The mist from the garden hose created a lovely image of a tropical rain forest.  The thick wall of wild growing heart shaped vines stretched across the back fence, giving privacy. A tiny thought entered to disturb my peace.  What if my neighbor weeded the lovely vines like she did last year leaving the chain link fence exposed.   Since her hands are full with a career and the maintaince of a double lot, I wondered why she focused on such minutiae.

I should know better.  Thoughts are things.

A few minutes later, I caught sight of her, kneeling by the fence doing the very thing I'd dreaded. Yanking out the thick green heartshaped privacy vines.   It was amusing and annoying, as I am working with The Angel of Openness, and a  barrier was now coming down.

The first thing I needed to do was to make room for peace within, and not react, not let this spoil an otherwise pleasant morning.  I began asking the Holy Spirit to heal this grievance I had.  I must admit that I wasn't so open as to shout a cheerful Good Morning over the fence.  But there was progress as  I recognized that I am slowly getting better in surrendering to what is.  Remembering the command to love our neighbor, silently I sent her a blessing, and then returned to the house to write.

I realize that whatever disturbs my peace is an unhealed spot within me, a wall I've built to shut love out.  There is nothing going on outside of my mind, my world reflects the thoughts I think.

Today hopefully I'll allow the Angel of Openness to do a little more housekeeping and help me see the love of God everywhere.  I keep forgetting the universe is always conspiring for our highest good even though it may not appear so at the time.  Time gives way to demonstration that this is true.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Rae Karen

Conversations Beyond Proof of Heaven

Several days ago, a friend recommended a fascinating  book.  Proof of Heaven was transforming her life.  Her enthusiasm was so  contagious that I made a purchase and in seconds it was ready to read on my kindle.  I immediately began to explore the amazing near death experience of neurosurgeon Dr. Eben Alexander.  The revelations he shares are what I've come to believe.  Earth is like a school where we come to learn lessons about expressing free will.  The most important thing to remember is that we are each dearly loved and cherished, and there is nothing to fear.

It is all about consciousness, that reaches beyond our physical brain, quite a statement from a neurosurgeon.   The good news is that we don't have to experience an NDE to become aware of this higher state of being. Through meditation and prayer we can expand our consciousness of heaven.

Yesterday on a spontaneous trip to a local bookstore, I found an unexpected treat. The DVD, Conversations Beyond Proof of Heaven, an interview with Dr. Eben Alexander and Dr. Raymond Moody.  By listening to his journey my own consciousness was lifted.  I was so charged that I had trouble going to sleep that night. The trailer to the documentary is on youtube.  Dr. Alexander shares what it was like seeing angels and experiencing the true realm of our existence, a consciousness I call Divine Love.

Enjoy your day!

An Angel Message from Bella Luna

Last night I happened to look up from the kitchen window. To my delight, an almost full moon was peeking through the clouds in a swirling halo of rainbow colors. I grabbed my camera and hurried outside. The night was perfectly still and peaceful as I gazed at my friend, the moon. I had company in the moonlight, our favorite stray Theo came to join me in my skywatch. As I tried to take a picture, steadying the camera, he meowed, bumping up against my legs.

I wondered if the angels were showing me that although it may be dark as we go through our trials at time, a portal will appear and a rainbow will shine through, bringing the promise of a better day. I was thankful to get the bigger picture.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

The Good Year Blimp: An Angel Message

                                 (Good Year Blimp: Wikimedia Images)

As Elliot and I were on our way to Firehouse Sub for lunch on Labor Day, I saw the Good Year blimp flying high, and moving forward at a good clip.  We thought it had retired in Florida, but there it was, on the job, sending out a message of good cheer.  I wished I had brought my camera, but it was a wonderful sign from the angels to keep looking up and expecting wonderful things to happen, and just keep moving forward.  Everyday is a miracle and many opportunities are presented to bring joy to others. Most of all, I think people just want to be seen and not forgotten as we go about our dailies.  Often we get so caught up in technology, that we aren't fully present and aware of our own being.  We've become lost in cyberspace, surfing for the next adventure in the realm of universal information.  Not that there is anything wrong with it, but moderation is the key.  A balance between technology and nature works best.

Yesterday I was glued to my computer screen most of the day, hunched over working on a writing project. Last night I went to bed blurry eyed and tanked out.  So, today I set an intention to spend time outdoors in the garden, just being, not puttering about like usual.  A funny thing happened as I sat still.  A blue jay came for a morning splash, and soon a bright red cardinal followed him.  Then, I noticed a baby woodpecker at work on the old camphor tree. Butterflies flitted around me and I had one of those instances of total gratitude for all life.  Now, I could understand why I don't see all that wonderful activity in the garden when I'm the one stirring things up as I go about my planting, watering, and mulching.  Nature enjoys the freedom when I am still and when I am, I get to enjoy it immensely, too.

So, take some time out today to appreciate the beauty of nature around you.  Slow down and really pay attention, fresh ideas will come to inspire you in ways you never imagined.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Love and blessings,

Rae
