A Crumbled Fortune Cookie: An Angel Message

Yesterday morning I selected three random angel cards for the day.  Something I recently started doing again.  To my surprise, the Angel of Forgiveness immediately appeared. Up next came the Angel of LOVE, followed by the Harmony Angels.  A perfect blend of spiritual ingredients for happiness -- and just the trio needed.

At noon we spontaneously opted for Chinese take-out and ate at home.  For dessert, I opened a crumbled fortune cookie and picked out the little scroll.

"Forgiveness does not change the past,
but it does enlarge the future."

Forgiveness! I laughed, amazed at the angelic reminder to keep practicing forgiveness for everything.  I knew something was up, because I've never had a fortune cookie like it before. Forgiveness effects the future.  I never quite thought of it that way.

Sometimes the angels need to speak loud so I'll get the message.  How sweet to come through a broken, but tasty fortune cookie.

That's the way the cookie crumbles...

Christ tells us to forgive 70 x 7 times, perhaps that's an indication of how often we may choose to entertain old grievances in our thoughts.  Forgiveness brings liberation--expansion.

And, the first person I need to forgive is myself.

My prayer for today is that forgiveness will set you free from a troubling past.  God loves you and His angels are with you to comfort, guide, and protect.  Expect the happy things of God to come your way today.

Love and joyful blessings,

Woody Sings A New Toon: An Angel Message

Have you ever heard a woodpecker's song? Known for their drumming beaks, I didn't even know they could sing until a loud bird call broke the silence in our backyard one day. To my surprise, a BIG bright red headed pileated woodpecker swooped down on the branch of an old orange tree.  His song resembled the laugh of Woody Woodpecker, the cartoon character.

Woodpeckers tend to cross my path whenever I'm getting ready to make a change, or in the midst of transformation that calls for radical trust.

Early this morning, the loud call of a bird, rang through the open porch window.  Hei-Hei, our tabby, ran to take a look.  Together we saw a large red headed pileated woodpecker on the utility post in front of our house.  His bright red hair stood on end like a mohawk.  We watched him peck away at the wooden pole, a call to wake up!

I ran for my camera, but when I opened the door, he flew down the street.

The pileated woodpecker beats out a message to follow your own unique rhythm.  Be wary of others trying to nudge you into a rhythm that isn't comfortable for you.  It's time to trust your own instincts-- even if you don't quite understand them.  Do what works in the manner best for you as the foundation is there to move in any direction.  Take your thoughts and give them action.  It is safe for you to do so.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Love and joyful blessings,

Following the Angel's Nudge, An Angel Message

Have you ever noticed that once you're given an uplifting idea to do something helpful, it may quietly linger in the back of your mind, soon to be forgotten?

Then, at some later date, spontaneity teams up with synchronicity and your memory is jogged, in hopes that you'll give your forgotten inspiration legs so it can run.  Often, angels need to communicate loudly to wake us up so we'll keep at it.  And not allow our ego's doubts prevent us from helping others in these terribly troubling times.

That's what recently happened to me.  Months ago, an idea stirred in my mind to lecture on angels and the powerful protection of Psalm 91.  Over the years,  I've heavily relied on that psalm in my daily walk.  Through all kinds of troubling situations,  I've found peace and deliverance in the midst of turmoil just by choosing to believe and have faith in the authority this psalm grants each of us as a child of God.

Last week, while browsing through a used bookstore in St. Augustine, my forgotten inspiration appeared tangibly on a book shelf.  Psalm 91, God's Shield of Protection by Peggy Joyce Ruth and Angelia Ruth Schum, was just the book I needed.  Peggy, a veteran Bible teacher,  takes you through the psalm verse-by-verse, explaining God's promises of protection in detail.  Powerful testimonies from legendary author Corrie ten Boom, actor Jimmy Stewart, survivors of Nazi and Japanese POW camps, police officers, and documented military accounts from Civil War to the war in Iraq all attest to the power of Psalm 91 in life-threatening situations.

Now more fully committed, I'm in the gathering stage of a new angel project.  The most important part,  I realize, is for me to get out of the way and just do it.

I'll keep you posted, but in the meantime, you may want to read Psalm 91, God's Shield of Protection. And, pray Psalm 91 out loud each day to put its powerful protection into practice for you, your family, and our world.

For He will give His angels charge concerning you,
To guard you in all your ways.
They will bear you up in their hands,
That you do not strike your foot against a stone.
                             Psalm 91:11

Love and joyful blessings to you and your angels!

Crane Comes A Calling: An Angel Message

Yesterday at Lake Helen, while sitting in our lawn chairs by the still clear waters, the serenity of nature was suddenly interrupted by a loud SQUAWKING call.  It came from a nearby tree.  Wondering what bird was making his presence known, I got up to take a look.  It took several minutes to locate the raucous messenger.

To my surprise, I finally spotted a juvenile crane, high up in the leafy treetop, he was out on a limb.

His wild cry seemed to herald in a new birth, as cranes are known to do.  He had gone out on the limb to get to the fruit.  A reminder, that we, too, must be willing to go beyond our comfort zone to fully appreciate the fruits of a new harmonious life.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Love and joyful blessings,

Life is a Book: An Angel Message

Years ago this inspirational quote, etched on the wall at the Mount Vernon Visitor Center, made a lasting impression on me.  The words are from George Washington, the Father of our nation.

LIFE IS A BOOK UNWRITTEN
  only you hold the pen.

What will you write in your book today?

Have a joyful day with your Angels.
