When I began gardening years ago, an instant favorite was the lush tropical canna, tall in stature, bold in blossom and garbed in a rich colorful gown of variegated maroon and green foliage.
When I moved to Florida, my Virginia cannas made the trip to the Land of Flowers with me. But the intensity of the hot sun took a toll over the years so last week with shovel in my hand they found a new home in the shade of the camphor tree in the backyard. In a bed by the patio, I could spend more time enjoying their show.
To my surprise, yesterday's late afternoon sun tapped me on the shoulder as I sat in the garden. Turning around, a newly blooming canna stood tall in a narrow shaft of sunlight shining between the houses. This beauty seemed to smile in gratitude.
I was glad I had followed the guidance to shift them from front to back. It just goes to show that sometimes after a major move, a little adjustment helps us bloom at the perfect time in the perfect spot.
Later on-line, I learned the symbolism of the canna: Confide in Heaven. I was so thankful for the angelic flower message.
Enjoy your day with the Angels.
Love and joyful blessings,
