Bridging the Gap

This beautiful sunset, taken by my dear friend Drew's son-in-law, arrived in email last week. Just now, taking a closer look, I could see how the sun is like an angel's head with reddish orange wings spread out over the water. The golden wake, her body. The expanse on the horizon is the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, a 17-mile stretch to the Eastern Shore. Angels bridge the world of the unseen to the seen.

Often we travel this way to New York, preferring the idyllic country side to the fast pace Interstate. If you would like to linger on the bridge, you'll find a gift shop and newly remodeled restaurant where you can eat and enjoy the view. I took a picture of this parking sign on our last trip.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.
