Happy Michaelmas Day!

Michaelmas known as the Feast of Michael and all Angels is celebrated every year on September 29th.  The event falls near the equinox, and is associated with the start of autumn.  It's a great time to stop and give thanks to Archangel Michael and all the angels who are lovingly devoted to serving humankind by quickening our spiritual awareness.

Have a blessed day, and remember all those in need of prayerful support in the aftermath of Helene.

Love and peace,

Rae Karen

Rainbow on the Autumn Solstice!

Our car's wiper blades were turned on  as we rounded the bend by the lake, surprised by a sudden morning sun-shower.   That's when I saw this beautiful rainbow cascading in a blue sky of sunlit raindrops.  A wonderful reminder of God's promise.  The best is yet to be.

Have a blessed day, and remember that you're never alone.  Your guardian angel is right beside you always.

Love and peace,

Rae Karen

Perception and the Harvest Full Moon of 2024

Early this morning, the full Harvest Moon tapped me on the shoulder and I went out in the stillness to take a peek.  She had a lovely pink halo round about her.  Pink is the color of love.

I was reminded of this old illustration.   There are two different perceptions of what you may see when you look at this picture.  A woman's silhouette illumined by the light of a full moon.  Or, the face of a crescent moon shining in the dark.

As you can see, our mind can't hold on to two different thoughts simultaneously.  It locks on to one, and locks out the other.  The imagery doesn't change, but our view does, switching back and forth from light to dark depending on how we look at it.

A good example to practice today.  Are we focusing on the light or the dark?

The angels invite us to take a look at an old situation today and try to see it with a fresh perception, a new light.

It's good to remember that according to the Holy Spirit everything is either Love or a Call for Love.

Love and peace,

Rae Karen

Listening to God: Angel Messages

I have compassion for the angels who try their best to help me.  Many years ago, my husband and I were planning to attend a lecture in a nearby town. A couple that would be riding with us said they knew the way. No problem. They had visited the public library where the talk  God is Speaking to You was to be held.

As the lecture date drew near, an angel thought nudged, get the directions on-line, but I ignored it.

Then, again, as we were leaving our house to pick up our friends for the lecture, the angel message crossed my mind once more.  Get the directions!  But I chided myself, don't be such a control freak.

Well, you've probably guessed what happened.  An hour later we're circling the town, puzzled as to where the public library is located. The lecture was about to begin when we happened upon a 7-11 and asked for directions. Funny thing -- we had to circle back and had earlier driven by the rear unmarked entrance to the library parking lot.  How had we missed it? We all laughed.

So the topic, God is Speaking to You was just what I needed.   A reminder that God never stops talking to us, but our "spiritual receptor" is like a radio.  Angelic messages-- pure intuition, winged with truth and love-- are broadcast 24/7, but in order to hear, our "radio" has to be turned on and tuned in, or we can't discern God's thoughts.  Static on our airwaves can interfere with our reception.  Static comes in many forms. Fear that we may be afraid of what we'll be told.  Low-self esteem, a feeling of unworthiness to hear God, is another muffler.  Anger and guilt can also block the flow.

We've all had an experience or two where we've turned to God in prayer for an answer, yet we don't hear anything. Here are some lecture notes to help out:

How to Listen to God for an answer.

1.  Tune out fear. Go within and close the door of your mind.  Affirm the truths you know about God.  He is all-knowing; He knows your every need.  He  is omnipresent; ever present regardless of where you find yourself.  You cannot be absent from God.  He is All Loving and wants the best for you. (Or use a particular scripture to connect, e.g,:  "Be still and know that I am God."

2.  Tune in to God. Tell Him the problem and expect an answer.  Keep your spiritual receptor turned on.   Listen, be willing to receive.

3.  When the answer comes, obey.  Don't hesitate.

Tips that it is God speaking:

1) The thoughts that come are good and moral.

2) They are a blessing to others as well as yourself.

3) A peaceful calm feeling prevails (not pushy or aggressive like having a personal agenda)

4) There is a sense of authority.  I must do this, or I must not!

When You Can't Hear...
Pray the static be revealed to you.  Ask what blocks in your consciousness impede you from hearing God? Then, stay vigilant for the answer.  It may not come during prayer, but it will be revealed, so be expectant of hearing Him. His answer will always give you peace and be a win/win for the highest good of all.

I've been trying to listen more to God and to obediently follow the guidance offered to make the road smoother by driving under the influence of angels.

 Love and blessings,

Rae Karen

Archangel Michael and Faith as Solid as a Rock

Funny how an old memory can suddenly come to light.  Like this vintage postcard of Gibraltar I found at a flea market. I had no idea St. Michael's Cave was located deep inside the Rock of Gibraltar.

I didn't know about angels back then.  I was a seven-year-old on a transatlantic voyage aboard the USS Darby, a military transport to start a brand new life.  Our family had left all of the old familiar U.S. landmarks to sail on uncharted waters on a major move to Germany for three years. A rough three weeks of endless rolling waves in a heaving sea with no land as far as the eye could see. Then one morning, off in the distance, as we stood on deck the Rock of Gibraltar emerged from the depths.  A mighty Rock that was more than a passing memory.

This week, images of the Rock of Gibraltar have pounded my thoughts.  So much so that solid rock  seemed to be a touchstone from the angels.  A heads-up as to the measure of powerful faith soon to be required in the coming days.  Faith as solid as the Rock of Gibraltar. Immovable.

If things appear hopelessly lost as you drift in a sea of uncertainty, don't despair. A way will suddenly open up. Stay firmly planted on the Rock. Trust in the Unseen more than the physical. Have faith that more is happening than you realize.  Don't let your monkey-mind run the show.

Another surprise I recently discovered was the amazing 1400-ft high Rock is uniquely home to the only wild monkey population in all of Europe.  The Moors may have brought them there as pets between 700 and 1492.  Imagine that? My furry stuffed animal, Zippy the Chimp, my shipmate would have gone bananas.

You probably remember The Prudential Company's logo, an image of the Rock of Gibraltar in their ads. "The Prudential has the strength of Gibraltar."

St. Michael's Cave, hidden deep within the Rock, can be an anchor of Faith. A reminder that strong angel warriors are serving in the unseen Realm. This Mighty Archangel is tirelessly at work to help humanity at this hour. His name translates from Hebrew as Who is Like God. Archangel Michael can help us to lift our spirit toward a more enduring vision of life.

In closing, I'd like to leave you with this Psalm about the Rock.

 "The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;
My God, my strength, in whom I will trust."
                                   Psalm 18

How blessed are we to have powerful heavenly Unseen Help with us.  It's time for radical faith in things unseen rather than our limited physical perceptions. Take a hint from this wild Barbary Macaque resident, and keep your mind housed upon The Rock.  Faith as solid as the Rock.  Trust. The best is yet to be.

Love and peace,

Rae Karen

Prayers for Our Nation

This light-filled photo of the new One World Trade Center was captured by a New York City man several days before the 15th anniversary of September 11th. It's often said that a picture is worth a thousand words and today this striking image brings a powerful healing ray of sunlight and hope on an otherwise sad and tragic day. Let us hold our Nation in prayer.

May the angels fill you with peace, love, and grace.  Miracles are seen in the Light.

Love and peace,
Rae Karen

Come On and Get Happy: Tumbling Cherubs

On Saturday mornings, it's fun to see what "finds" I may dig up at our local outdoor flea market.  Last week these joyful porcelain cherubs tumbled on a tabletop making me laugh.  Usually angels are poised and full of grace, but this flock had broken out of the mold in joyful expressions -- handstands, somersaults, legs kicking up. A breakthrough celebration.

What a bargain it ended up to be...later when given a bath at home, I discovered they were Dresden bisque porcelain from Germany.  $70 value on-line. Mine an angel delivery for $4.  You can't put a price tag on things that stir your heart to joy.  It just happens, and I can't keep from smiling every time I glance at the heavenly tumblers on my office bookshelf.   A message for me to lighten up and celebrate each day no matter what.

Love and peace,

Rae Karen

On the Wings of a Dove: An Angel Message

A few nights ago what a surprise to wake up feeling refreshed, ready to begin a new day only to learn it was shortly past midnight, with six long hours until sunrise! I longed to get back to sleep, but fears began churning in my belly about the state of our world.  I  sang uplifting songs in my head, and prayed the 23rd Psalm, and Psalm 91.  But I couldn't find peace.  I remembered wise advice I'd heard years ago during a time of extreme testing:  God doesn't want us to live an anxious life, riddled with constant anxiety.  The remedy for finding peace is to remember the many ways the Lord has come through for you in the past, and to give thanks.  Then, humbly ask the Holy Spirit to take your fears and give you peace instead. When done earnestly, you cannot fail.

So I began to give thanks for all the past blessings delivered in my hour of need, and to ask for forgiveness for all my shortcomings.   I then invited the Holy Spirit to take my issues and let me have peace instead.

What happened next misted my eyes as I knew I was truly not alone.  I'd been touched by a loving Presence, a Presence who knew me better than I know myself... because a long, forgotten melody washed over me and brought relief.  "On the wings of a snow white dove, he sends his pure sweet love, a sign from above...on the wings of a dove".

A white dove is a symbol for the Holy Spirit.

I couldn't quite place how I knew the old song as I softly sang it over and over again. "On the wings of a snow white dove, He sends His pure sweet love, a sign from above...on the wings of a dove".   A perfect remedy as I drifted off in a peaceful sleep, embraced by the loving wings of a snow white dove.

First thing the next morning, I looked up the lyrics on-line. Ferlin Husky belted out The Wings of a Dove, a big country hit in the 60's.  My eyes misted as I listened to the healing words. Yet, I still couldn't place how I knew it.

Then I remembered weekend visits on my grandparent's farm. Biscuits baking in oven, Grandma's good cooking wafting the air ready to feed our hungry appetites.  I could see her  bustling about in a faded red paisley apron. Then the old brown radio came into view. It sat on-high, on top of an antique metal cupboard where she kept her dishes. Just a teenager back then, I'd be setting the table to the hillbilly twang crackling on the radio.  Nobody dared to touch that dial.  My taste in hits was top 60's--Dee Dee Sharp's Mashed Potato Time.  Country music was so uncool...

We don't always get what we want, but we get what we need.  It turned out that time got mashed by an old gospel tune that was hit over 50 years ago.  In looking back, my faith-filled Grandma did it again--sowing a seed that I'd reap far into the future as well as a healing trip back to the old white farmhouse in the country.

On The Wings of A Dove  by Bob Ferguson

On the wings of a snow white dove

He sends His pure sweet love
A sign from above
On the wings of a dove

When trouble surrounds us...
When evils come
The body grows weak
The spirit grows numb

When these things beset us
He doesn't forget us
He sends down His love
On the wings of a dove.

On the wings of a snow white dove

He sends His pure sweet love
A sign from above
On the wings of a dove

The Holy Spirit although invisible is not unnoticeable.  He knows the things you need and how to reach you to help you heal and give you peace. He transcends time and space.  My hope is that these words will bless you and bring you comfort in times of trouble.  Remember you are never alone. God loves you now and always. He has sent his Holy Spirit and the angels to give you peace.

Love and peace,

The Ride of Your Life: An Angel Message

I've always had a thing for hood ornaments-- a sleek jaguar, a charging ram or the shiny silver plane on our 1955 Belair. Chevy.

Yesterday, a quick drive to the neighborhood mailbox brought a shift in perception.  Returning to the car with an angel book, I saw something wild. A daring little gecko was posed like a hood ornament on our white Honda.  Head held high, facing forward in center position, those tiny claws clutched the hood for balance.  Rather than go to the lake as planned, my heart nudged to slowly drive back home so he could reunite with family and friends. I laughed, thinking about his adventure.  Oh, the stories he'd tell his grandchildren...about the day he expanded his horizons and took a ride on a five-ton machine traveling 25 mph.

Okay, so my imagination got carried away, but not the daring gecko. As I got out of the car in the driveway, there he was!  Holding the line, perfectly poised, and still hanging on tight.  He stayed put long enough for a photo to share.

The little gecko's unusual behavior seemed to hold on to an uplifting angel message... Get ready to bravely embrace something dynamically new and hang on for the ride of your life, knowing you, too, will return home driven by the power of angel love.

Have a blessed day with your angels.  Remember the best is yet to be.

Love and peace,

Rae Karen
