Just as athletes must endure physical training to be the best at their game, the Angels remind us that we too could benefit from in-depth spiritual training. One of the best ways to build up our spiritual muscle is to learn how to meditate and put it into practice each day. Some other suggestions for training might be:
-Spend some time alone in silence.
-Pray, talk to God like you would a friend.
- Do good deeds in secrecy without taking the credit.
-Engage in reading spiritual material.
-Submit to something that you feel God is asking you to do.
-Seek to understand rather than be understood.
-Personal reflection - write down your thoughts and listen for guidance.
-Fast from food, negative thinking, or social networking for a day or so. Turn off the TV or cellphone and spend a day doing nothing but being.
-Service, look for ways to be helpful in your community or to friends and family. Practice acts of random kindness.
-Spend time in nature.
You may want to pick one discipline and work on it before choosing another. As we strengthen our spiritual muscle it is much easier to meet challenges in a state of grace and inner peace as opposed to fear. We may wobble, but we won't fall down.
Have a joyful day with the Angels and remember that you're on the "A" Team.
Love and joyful blessings,
