During the dark hours, a symbol of faith can crack the dreary night and bring a reminder to put all of our trust in God. This morning I was looking for a card to send along with a gift to our three-year- old granddaughter. My collection of note cards is stored in a peacock carton in the den. When I opened the box, what a surprise to find the decorative lid liner had come completely unglued and fallen down inside. The plain cardboard that had been hidden now revealed a symbol of the Christ fish imprinted with glue. We can't make these things happen and so I try to pay attention when they do.
The peacock, with its feathery "eyes", has been a long time symbol of watchfulness, resurrection and wise vision. In Christianity it was a symbol of the death and resurrection of Jesus. In Egypt, it was associated with the all seeing eye of Horus.
I'm thankful for the angel messages that arrive in unexpected ways. Christ is the glue. As we naturally go about our day, these comforting signs of love, protection, and guidance brighten our day with the Truth. They encourage us to keep on keeping on. Don't give up. "In Him we live and move and have our being."
The story isn't over yet...
Love and joyful blessings,
