Archangel Uriel, The Light of God

Uriel, in Christian tradition, is the Angel of Music and Poetry. Folklore says Uriel warned Noah of the impending flood. This powerful archangel helps out during times of disaster such as earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes. There is a great need for celestial help at this time in our history.

In looking back, this Polaroid picture of our weathered-statue of Archangel Uriel, playing a mandolin, was taken on November 16, 1998 in Virginia.   At the time, an inner voice had prompted, Grab the Polaroid camera! Take a picture of Uriel standing among the autumn leaves in the front yard.  

"Smile, Uriel!" I kidded, crouching down to take his picture. 

I was glad I had listened to the inner guidance.

When the blank Polaroid film slowly developed, coming to light, what an amazing glimpse of a greater picture.  A pair of lighted angel wings appeared, formed high above the tall reddish brown statue. And, a brilliant shaft of light shot through Archangel Uriel like a powerful laser beam. 

Archangel Uriel, whose name means Light of God, had come shining through! 

And, so it is with us. The light is always within even though it can't be seen with physical eyes. It still is.

Here is a spiritual passage, that brings comfort when confronting fear of death, or any kind.  

 "There is a light in you which cannot die; whose presence is so holy that the world is sanctified because of you. All things that live bring gifts to you, and offer them in gratitude and gladness at your feet. The scent of flowers is their gift to you. The waves bow down before you and the trees extend their arms to shield you from the heat, and lay their leaves before you on the ground that you may walk in softness, while the wind sinks to a whisper round your holy head. The light in you is what the universe longs to behold. All living things are still before you, for they recognize Who walks with you. The light you carry is their own."  ACIM

If you are struggling in the dark, call on Archangel Uriel to help you remember the Light of God shines bright in you.  You are a spiritual being of light forever shining in the Love of God.  The best is yet to be.
