Seeing Red: An Angel Message

 With Perseverance, a 2200-lb. Rover, makings it final descent to the Red Planet on February 18th,  red appears to be the color theme of the week.  It has nothing to do with politics as I sit here blogging in an old red sweater.  This morning a juvenile hawk delivered a splash of color.  It made a landing on top of the old dead tree as Elliot and I were discussing the timing of  NASA's latest achievement on Mars. A massive parachute, bungie cords, and retro rockets were part of the Rover's smooth landing in the crater where it will gather red rocks and look for past life during the next three months.

 As for our winged messenger perched on the treetop, the angels surely had a hand in the long-range photo-op because the young hawk rotated his head to look my way just as I took the picture from the sun-room window.  It wasn't until later, when the photos were uploaded on my laptop, that I could clearly see what I got!  A big red tail feather sticking out like a calling card!  I laughed, as it instantly revealed the type of hawk he is.  

In hindsight, the color red brings to mind Valentine hearts and February is Heart Month.  The red-tail feather is perhaps a sign to come from our heart rather than from our head in relationships with others as well as with ourselves.

 A review of its symbolism was meaningful.  To the Pueblo, the red-tailed hawk was known as red eagle.  To the Ojibwa it represented leadership, deliberation, and foresight.  According to Animal-Speak, the red of the red-tail reflects a greater intensity of energy at play within your life.  An intensity of physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual forces.  This powerful bird is a catalyst, stimulating hope and new ideas.  It also signals a need to be open to the new. The Red-Tailed Hawk can awaken visionary power and lead you to your life purpose.  A messenger bird, wherever it shows up, pay attention.  There's a message coming.

So take a hint from this bright red tail feather as a calling card for you. It has winged its way to your mailbox with a message of hope and creativity.  New ideas are coming to help you fulfill your life's purpose.   Keep on persevering. The best is yet to be.

A Red-Tail Takes Flight: An Angel Message

After the heavy rains last night, this young red tail was drying out on the perch early this morning.  His high watch was timely as I was beginning to dip down in consciousness feeling the heaviness of the news.  A signal that more time is needed in prayer and meditation.

The hawk didn't stay around long, perhaps my standing at the open slider door, snapping away with the camera disturbed his peace.  I was thankful though, to catch a quick glimpse of those bright red tail feathers as his powerful wings took to the sky.  

When a hawk appears, it's a sign that spirit vision and guardianship surround you.  "Be patient and observe.  You will see the opportunities.  Signs are clear."

So if you happen to be reading this just now, the uplifting message is meant for you, too. Keep thoughts on high. Angels surround you with God's love, to guide and protect you, and bless you this day.

The Living Advent Calendar: An Angel Message

Red-shouldered Hawk on the wire out front today.

For the last several years, I've enjoyed the childlike wonder of opening a German advent calendar each day in December leading up to Christmas.  The sequential numbered doors, hidden in snowy winter scenes with angels and children, were fun to discover.  This year Hei-Hei chewed off one of the doors, so I decided to skip the physical advent calendar and let the angels deliver the hidden door for each day.
 
It's been fun to watch what may cross my path in the countdown to Christmas Eve.

Today, while sitting on the porch, I had no sooner ended a prayer when to my surprise I caught sight of an unusual visitor.  I wasn't thinking about the living advent calendar door, my mind was elsewhere when I happened to look up. 

Outside the porch window, a red shouldered hawk was on the tall wood power pole across the street!  The sun's rays cast a glow on his golden chest as he pecked away at a prize.

Red-tailed or Red-shouldered hawks have been one of my long-time  messengers.  And, so the timing of his unexpected appearance brought peace, so much so I decided to let him be, and not take a picture. Whenever one shows up it is a sign to pay attention, a message is coming your way. 

Soon the red hawk spread his wide wings, and flew away. I thanked him for the message, to see things from a higher perspective.  A hawk is a heavenly messenger akin to Mercury.  Life is sending you a signal to get ready for an opportunity that will be coming your way.

With renewed energy, I got busy tidying up the porch.  When I happened to look out again, to my surprise, that hawk had returned to the pole to eat lunch.  Opportunities had come his way. 

Hei-Hei, our tabby, crouched down on the windowsill, and watched him like a hawk while I sat on the love seat beside the cat, with binoculars glued on the Red-shouldered bird.

Soon it flew away again, but Hei-Hei stayed at his post, vigilant at the window.

I knew something was up.

This time, the 3rd visitation,  the hawk messenger had come even closer.  He now perched on a cable wire in front of our house, affording a wonderful photo op that became advent calendar door number 9 for Day 9.

So if you're reading this angel blog the hawk message is for you, too.  Get ready! Pay attention! A heavenly message is coming your way to help you fulfill your life's purpose.
