A Birthday Visit from an Old Friend

What a wonderful birthday surprise to see my old tortoise friend Timothy plodding along the outer pasture fence.  I was having lunch in the sun-room when I spotted his high-topped dome shell slowly moving in the sunshine. I grabbed my camera and went out to welcome him.    He'd been missing ever since the hurricanes last fall.  His timely appearance was the answer to a prayer as I could see he was doing well and hadn't moved on to greener pastures.

But there he was, big and beautiful, enjoying the day, methodically plodding along, slow and steady, stopping to eat blades of grass for lunch.  From a distance, I watched him try to squeeze his big shell through the narrow openings in the wire fence and return home inside the pasture.

But that wasn't going to happen.  "You can dig down under the fence with your shovel toes," I reminded him.  Tortoises can dig up to 16 feet...  This would be a piece of cake.  But Timothy was not in the mood and plodded along by the fence in search of an opening.  I knew he would find a way, and let him be, thanking him for my birthday gift.

I later learned that when a tortoise appears, we have usually been going through many changes and many burdens, and though it may not appear so, now the dawn is slowly approaching.  So carry on by moving along and facing things steadily and slowly in our endeavors.  Though the responsibilities have been great, we will succeed in time.  A wonderful message of hope.

You can see a clip of Timothy in action on the angels for you website link at the bottom of your email.

Have a joyful day...and remember you are never truly alone.  All is well.  For he has given his angels charge over you...  Slow and steady wins the race.

 Love and peace,

Rae Karen

More Tortoises: An Angel Message

Last week, while eating lunch in the sun-room, I looked up in time to catch sight of  what appeared to be a large domed shell steadily moving out in the sun-lit pasture.   Seeing Timothy the gopher tortoise was just the boost needed at the moment.  His hollow under the tree had been quiet all summer, and we wondered if our good neighbor had moved to greener pastures.  With the field recently mowed short, he can cover his territory more freely now.  Later that afternoon, to my delight, another large tortoise appeared at the same time as Timothy.   They were about the same size, and each one was diligently going about their own business in opposite directions, but co-existing in peace.

Tortoise is a symbol of taking things slow and steady under pressure.  Right now there are a multitude of pressures we're all dealing with here on earth. Many opportunities that can bring a gift of spiritual growth if we choose to learn from the lessons that are presented.  They force us to come up higher in consciousness and reveal a part of us that is eternal, and untouched by anything external.

More tortoise energy was in the air.  On Saturday, at the farmers' market in town, BIG BOY, the 20-year gopher tortoise, was there with his mate, Prasilia.  They enjoyed a lunch of fresh tomatoes and cucumbers, in the company of curious admirers.

With all the tortoise energy to share, I looked up the meaning once more. "Pressures are easing, and although movement is slow, it is steady.  Things will happen in the time and manner best for you.  Focus on essentials."

Unseen help is with us, the human race, even though not visible one can experience the loving influence of angelic presence in the midst of our darkest trials.  Love will find a way.

With love and blessings,

Rae Karen

Tortoise On the Move: An Angel Message

Yesterday while on a drive to the lake, this huge old tortoise crossed the road in the town of Lake Helen. Excitedly, I whipped out my phone camera, amazed at how fast those short little legs were making tracks over the grassy field.

Elliot laughed, reminding me that the tortoise won the race with the over-confident hare.  Rarely do we see turtles, especially an enormous, ancient-looking tortoise traveling the road, with years and years of experience. With his house on his back, he is always at home, wherever he goes.

Our fellow journeyer, seemed to say, Keep on moving toward the goal, doing your best day by day, and you will be victorious.   If the odds seem against you, whatever you do, don't give up! With God all things are possible.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Love and joyful blessings,

Taking It At Your Pace: An Angel Message

The sudden appearance of wild turkeys always brings to mind a gift of thankfulness and abundance.  Last weekend while out for a drive,  Elliot and I happened upon a rare blessing, a large family of turkeys were crossing the country road.

We slowed down so the group could decide which way to proceed.  Some were heading to the other side of the road, while others were confused over which way to go and darted back and forth.

We patiently waited, yielding to nature and giving them time to find their bearings.  Then to our surprise, they were soon in one accord and decided rather than crossing, they would trot down the road, leading the way.  In awe of nature, we slowly but thankfully followed the abundant flock.

I did manage to catch this photo as they finally turned off the road to gobble up the green grass. We were thankful for their message to be grateful in all circumstances.

Farther down the road and around the bend, we saw another unusual traveler.  Slowly we passed by a dusty old tortoise making tracks in his lane.  A wonderful reminder to keep moving forward in the direction you're being led.  After all, his slow, but steady pace won him the race, against all odds.  So don't give up, just keeping doing your best.

I love it when loving angel messages appear in nature.  The more I appreciate the beauty of the simple things in life, the louder nature seems to call, to celebrate her gifts, moment by moment.  So no matter if you're looking to trot or taking it slow and easy, enjoy the journey along the way.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Love and joyful blessings,

Rae Karen
