A Green Anole Encounter: An Angel Message

Angel messages can come in all guises often catching us off guard, in a moment's notice. Yesterday, I heard a strange scuffle at the porch door.  Hei-Hei burst into the house.  A long green tail dangling from the cat's mouth.  My heart sank.  Our favorite little outdoor wild "pet", a bright green anole, had been swallowed up. This little lizard had an uncanny way of  peeking into the house, high up on the screen, whenever I needed to remember to smile.

I sprang into action, determined to save him. Green anole brings a message on harmony.

Not on my watch, I thought, grabbing our feisty gray tabby in my arms, green lizard and all.  I asked the angels for help, giving Hei-Hei a firm shake, and a loud NO!

That did it.

The green anole landed on the floor.  Yippee!  He was in one piece as I watched his long green tail scurry  onto the screen porch, ready to be rescued. The chase began--He climbed the screen at rapid speed, quickly changing directions-- sideways, backwards and forwards.  Tiny hooks underneath his flattened toes help to move across seemingly impossible surfaces.

The story had a happy ending. Elliot returned in time to grab a broom, and the lizard moved in a new direction, back to nature where he belonged. Free at last.

His visit prompted a review of anoles.  Do you know they have a pineal eye on top of the head? It helps to sense  lightness and darkness and set the anole's biological clock.  A lesson for us to trust our own inner rhythms, and highly developed perceptions.  Harmony comes by trusting our own perceptions rather than others.

Anole is a reminder there are always things we can do to create harmony at home. These lizards can subtly change color from shades of green to brown depending on heat, humidity, and emotions in order to blend in with the environment.

The biggest take away from this special angel delivery is to avoid getting swallowed up in what is not beneficial for you. Listen and trust your inner guidance.

It's comforting to know that even though we don't have little hooks on our toes enabling us to climb to great heights, we are ever in the company of angels who will guide us and "lift us up lest we dash our foot on a stone."

Love and peace,
