Angel of Laughter

The idea for today's blog came from this vintage letter plaque that hangs by my bedside. The angels remind us to take time out to laugh and lighten up.  Later, I knew a theme was developing when my attention was drawn to this porcelain box on the coffee table.

The angels can help us to see the funny side of Life.  As I sat on the sofa thinking about the joyful stories from the past,  there is one that stands out.

Many years ago, my sister-in-law Marsha was afraid to drive her new mini-van through the car wash. The wheels had to be aligned within the guide rails to pull the vehicle through the wash/rinse/blow cycles and she didn't think she could do it.   My mother, a take charge kind of gal, came for a visit.  After lunch out and shopping, she convinced Marsha to face her fears.  Mom would help.  So they made a pit stop on the way home.  At the car wash building, Mom got out like a traffic cop and used hand signals to guide her daughter-in-law.  Marsha inched forward.  All was going well...until my mother backed herself across the floor marker and activated a soapy spray that dampened her hair-do.  Hollering, Mom scrambled across the slippery floor, skidding to her knees.  Luckily my aging Mom wasn't hurt, but it sure tickled their funny bones.

Life is like a car wash at times, don't you think?  WASH. RINSE. SPIN.  And we're ready to bounce back and hit the road again.

Enjoy your day with the Angels and remember to take time to laugh.

Love and joyful blessings,

Rae Karen
