The Upward Climb: An Angel Message

(Mt. Everest, 1921)

When we commit to making the ascent to "higher ground", how reassuring to know that we do not  journey upward alone.  It takes great courage to let go of all the familiar comforts and in faith take one step at a time toward the lofty summit.

Recently I learned about a famous climber who made a rare claim. He was aided by an angel while mountain climbing.  In the 1930's, Francis Sydney Smythe climbed Mt. Everest.  Pressing on toward that treacherous goal, he made an important  discovery.  An invisible presence was by his side, making him feel safe.  This "friendly presence" was so real that one day Smythe shared his ration of chocolate with it!  "In its company I could not feel lonely, neither could I come to any harm.  It was always there to sustain me on my solitary climb."

Our guardian angels are always by our side, too.  We each have "mountains" to climb in our life.  Obstacles that appear insurmountable when faced alone, but with God and His angels all things are possible.  Progress comes daily in little upward steps that lead beyond our poor limitations and toward beautiful new vistas as we push on toward the high calling in Christ.

Angels are real--they comfort, guide, and protect; all we need is a little willingness to believe and share our best along the way. Thank you, God, for the gift of your Angels.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Love and joyful blessings,

Rae Karen
