Angels on the Road

Ever felt an angel’s breath in the gentle breeze?
A teardrop in the falling rain?
Hear a whisper amongst the rustle of leaves?
Or been kissed by a lone snowflake?
Nature is an angel’s favorite hiding place.
--Carrie Latet

I love this tender quote about angels. Nature is so healing, that's where I feel closest to God. While living on the farm in Virginia, one morning a young woman lost control of her brand new car.  She ended up in the ditch by the long driveway to our cottage.

Thank goodness, she wasn't hurt and there was minimal damage to her car.

I asked her, what happened?

She wasn't sure. She had stopped at a nearby park to rest, feeling tired. When she started out on the road again, the next thing she knew she was in the ditch. As an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), she was used to rescuing other people, but this was a first for her. And, on such a familiar road, one she had traveled most of her life.

After the police left, I invited her to sit on the swing bench under the old oak tree and get centered before driving again.

"It was as though His hand guided me safely into that ditch," she said.

I agreed, it was a heavenly landing. Her angels were watching over her.

Turns out, she had plans to drive out of state that afternoon. A thought came to me that maybe this little mishap was the worse of it. The angels wanted her to postpone her long drive until a more auspicious time.

"I hadn't thought of it that way," she smiled, feeling better. Just then, a leaf fell from the old oak tree and landed on her lap. She laughed and took it with her as a reminder of God's care.

Sometimes we get sidetracked on purpose. Our angels are keeping us on course, although it may not appear so to the ego, but it is in divine order.

An Angel Message from A Turtle

I've started a daily exercise program that should begin at a brisk pace, but all the wildlife  at the pond is distracting.  This morning I spotted a turtle swimming far out in the middle of the lake. It was about the size of a dime, until I zoomed in. Trying to focus,  the lens bounced, I couldn't make out his face; he appeared headless. Asking the Holy Spirit for help,   I took several shots, but it wasn't until the pics were uploaded, I found that I had what I had been seeking.  His head was above water and the expression on his face, priceless.

I realized then how my eyes had been deceiving me as I had only been able to see the contact point where the reflection and reality began to meld.  So it is with us when we try to perceive a particular situation.  It seldom is as it appears to be.  Asking for divine help is a good way to gain clarity.

In many societies turtle was a symbol for Mother Earth, the shell represents the world, which she carries on her back.  When a turtle appears it is a sign that a new world is opening up with new opportunities.  We have gone within our shell and it is now time to come out and express ourselves. Turtle tells us to trust that the vibrations are good now for making a move.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Love and joyful blessings,

Rae Karen

Leapin' Lizards - Love Overcomes Fear

(Lizard in the Garden last Spring)

It's hard to know exactly when my fear of lizards vanished.  I'd become familiar with the little blue and yellow striped ones while living on the farm at Virginia Beach.  Often they could be seen basking on a rock in the flower bed, enjoying the warmth of the sun.  I began to see them as cute and amusing...although the last thing I wanted to do was to touch one.

It turns out those three years were good training for a future move south I knew nothing about.    Now living in Florida, lizards are a natural part of the landscape. Often posing on top of the garden statues or scaling the exterior walls of the house or the patio fence. I found myself becoming rather fond of them at a distance.

The balance in nature shifted when a couple of cats adopted us.   Apparently they had been living in the crawl space underneath the house.  When we began to feed them I thought the lizards would be safe.  Yesterday afternoon I was sitting outside with a friend, when Mr. Paws caught a small one in his mouth and began to toy with it. The lizard froze, playing dead and the cat waited, wanting to play.  I silently asked the Angels for help.  This is supposed to be a peaceful place.  All God's creatures can move in harmony. I affirmed.

I knew it was important not to interfere with nature, but still...

When I looked again the lizard was missing!  No one saw him move. Sniffing the ground the cat couldn't figure it out and neither could we.  Then I happened to look down at my pant leg.

The lizard clung to my jeans, looking up at me.  I could almost hear his loud cry for HELP!  His tail was missing, but he was alive; and it would grow back.  Now, there was hope. It was a bold move on his part.

My reaction surprised even me.  Why wasn't I jumping up out of my chair, screaming and brushing him off. But I knew in that moment that I was the answer to my prayer.  Seeing his panic, I reassured him to hang on.

And he did.

He clung to my stiff leg as I carefully walked through the mulch to the far side of the woods.
Somewhere along the way, he let go. The cat now far away still sniffing the patio.

I must admit when it was all over, I began to cry. I wasn't exactly sure why.  Maybe it was because my love for that lizard exceeded my fear of him and in that moment I was transformed.

Angels often teach us lessons in nature and I was so happy to be used as an angel to the rescue.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Blessings,

Karen

P.S. In Animal-Speak by Ted Andrews, lizard teaches to listen to your own intuition before you get swallowed up in what is not beneficial for you.   You will see things that others may miss.  You will hear things that are not being said. The lizard also teaches detachment. (Their tails come off in order to survive.) Sometimes we must separate ourselves or part of ourselves to be able to do the things we must desire to do. Lizard is also associated with dreamtime.

Transformation - A Gift of Change

This unusual bird appeared as soon as we pulled in the parking lot to enjoy lunch.  In amazement, we watched as he slowly emerged from the tall grasses by the pond.   I was so thankful that  he was patient, striking several poses, before spreading his wings and taking off.

We tried to figure out his lineage...an older sand hill crane?  a wise stork?  a white heron?  None seemed quite like a fit.  His head like that of a turkey and his long beak like a stork, his snowy white feathers, a heron?

Sometimes angels appear in the form of birds...so later I got to thinking that maybe he was a rare combination of all those traits.  The abundance and thanksgiving of a turkey; creativity and new birth of  a stork; and the strong spiritual reliance of a white heron.  This train of thought led me to the idea of what we may appear to be as we become more like our true spiritual being.  We, too, will become a new creature in Christ, with wings to open wide, carrying us on gentle winds to marvelous new realms. Freedom.

Enjoy your day with the Angels and watch for their inspiring messages.

Blessings,

Karen

Dale, The Rescue Duck

Last evening Elliot and I went to the little lake over by the dome church. It's a regular haven for the birds.  Ducks, cormorants, sand hill cranes, you never know who'll show up.  We like to sit in the car, eating subs and enjoying the view.

Something unusual was going on.

Two sand hill cranes were putting on a show.  With wings spread wide open, facing each other,  they gracefully fluttered up and down like two ballerinas in joyful dance. I wished I had my camera.

A young woman had an opened  pet carrier.  I asked her if she was releasing a rescue? She shook her head, "I'm trying, but she's not ready."

Her feathered friend,  a small brownish duck with a reddish beak and soft brown eyes stayed close to her human guardian.

"It's wonderful how you take care of the birds," I said, as she sprinkled seed on the ground.

The woman laughed, shaking her head. "I never liked anything with a beak before!" she said.  "Then three weeks ago, she showed up at my door with a gunshot wound." She pointed fondly to her rescue. "I rushed her to the vet and have bonded with her.  Since then, she's been healing my heart as I've been tending to her."

"What's her name?" I asked.

"Dale. We named her that because we weren't sure if she was male or female."

I looked at Dale, now the picture of perfect health, waddling close to her human Angel.  I watched the two of them do their own dance.  The Angel woman tried to coax Dale back into the carrier to take her home. Only Dale wasn't so sure.  She would come close to the door, then turn away.  "She's teaching me patience," the woman said.

Knowing Angels are always with us.  I decided to ask for help, expecting them to shepherd Dale right back inside the carrier.

But the dance continued for a long time.  Baiting her with food and a bowl of water.

As I watched the process, I began to realize that Dale had her perfect place in God's kingdom.  That she was also an idea of God and as such could not have one shred of error in her.  In divine mind, she was already perfect and free.

"Maybe she doesn't want to come with me?" The woman said, with a change of heart.  "She was attacked by a crane near my house.  I just brought her from the vet and was told not to bring her back home because the crane would get her again." She wiped her tears away.

I gave her a hug. "You did your part. You were like an angel to her."

Elliot asked. "What was your intention when you brought her here tonight?"

"I wanted to release her."

Suddenly Dale flew up in a tree.

"Maybe that's her way of telling you that she doesn't want to go." I said.

With a hint of relief, the woman smiled.  "I've been following signs.  I was planning to drive her to a place eight hours away, but then learned of this wonderful lake from a lady at the Vet.  So here I am."

We looked up at Dale perched in the tree.

"You've done everything you could for her.  The same protection that led her safely to you has led you here tonight." I said, as she wiped her eyes.  "You can go in peace, knowing you helped her."

She nodded, heading back to her car. I was guided to help with the pet carrier. When she opened the trunk, we heard the flapping  of wings.  We looked up.

Dale was standing by the cross on the church roof.  "She's sending you a message," I said.  "This is the way she wants you to remember her."

She looked up at her duck friend."I've been following signs." she said again.

"The world's a better place because of people like you," I said. "Thank you for caring."  Tears were falling as I watched her drive away.  I thought about The Oneness of the Circle of Life.  Ducks represent emotional healing and  Love is all there is.

 I wondered who rescued who?

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Blessings,

Karen

The White Crane Teaches a Lesson

Keeping Balanced
The recent heavy rains filled an overflow area that is now a favorite hangout for our feathered friends.  This white crane is the picture of balance. Standing on an open-ended pipe for security in the water, he patiently stays focused watching for the right opportunity to make a move.   Vigilantly,  he waits.   The pipe of itself serves no purpose in the flow.  The flow has appeared without any help from it.  The land area that has been dry is now a mini lake, filled with opportunities that didn't come through the normal channel.  Nature has provided the supply. The crane only needed to show up and maintain the proper focus.

The crane is a symbol of longevity and creation through focus. A reminder that the Divine is our Source and we are infinitely supplied with every good thing if we can open our hearts and minds to receiving the inspiration.  Angel thoughts, messages sent to us from God, are constantly available in the higher regions of our mind. In stillness the answer comes.  Often we stand on a material prop, unaware of the blessings that await us, but we need to step into the abundant waters with faith. When we do, the spiritual rewards will be plentiful.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Blessings,

Karen

The Sacred Tree, I am a Child of God, Just as You

Yesterday Elliot and I couldn't find a parking place in Saint Augustine. We had called out to the angels for help, but it just wasn't happening. The weather was warm and sunny and everyone was down town. It was so busy that we decided to head back to the hotel and return on Sunday morning. We had driven a few blocks from the congested area when I saw street parking in front of a large church. It was in a park with oaks and cedars near the water. We decided to stop.

In the courtyard of the Prince of Peace Church, we came upon an old tree standing alone.
I wondered if it was a cedar of Lebanon?
Elliot looked at the plaque. "What does it say? I asked backing up to take a picture.
"It's a message from the tree," he smiled.
I thought he was kidding me.

But when reading the beautiful words out loud, my eyes began to well up and goosebumps tingled my arms. For I have always felt this way about the trees, but having it confirmed in such a loving, touching way melted something deep inside me. Just the day before I had sent up a prayer for a forest of trees felled behind the hotel in Savannah.

This powerful message is meant to be shared.
Here's what the old cedar tree had to say:

"Behold me! The silent witness,
I have known it all,
Listen to me as I speak
through the wind.

I am a child of God, Just as you.
He sends me water from the clouds.
He sends me light and warmth of
the Sun to nourish me.

It is my responsibility to
provide you with clean air and
shade.
I shelter you and keep you.

Beneath my boughs, deer have grazed,
and Native children played.

Beneath me I have seen the vices of men:
greed, ambition, deceit,
And the virtues of Faith, courage,
compassion, heroism,
Even self-sacrifice

I am a child of God, Just as you.

Learn from those who have gone
before.
Bend, but hold your truths; stay
strong and persevere, as I have.

Come, don't be shy; place your hand
upon me.
I will share my strength with you.
God has given us all many gifts.
Rejoice in them, share them.

I am a child of God, Just as you.
We are all God's children."

Elliot and I both touched the tree, grateful that we were guided to come to this wonderful place.

The Church is on the sacred grounds of the Shrine of Our Lady of La Leche. And is the birthplace of Christianity in America, dating back to September 8, 1565.

I am learning the more I can let go, the greater the blessings. This is a time of amazing synchronicity. Have you noticed it, too?

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Snowstorm

The old apple tree.

The meditation garden.
The Brazilian Nut Feast

Our cat, Angel, is on my lap as I write. What a winter wonderland outside the window. The old apple tree dressed in white fluffy snow looks so graceful with bended soft white powdery boughs. The snow on the bird bath is stacked like a white birthday cake in honor of Jesus' birthday. Everything is transformed into purity.

A bushy tailed squirrel had been coming to enjoy his breakfast several mornings last week. It was a breakfast for champions because he deserved a gold medal for his daring feat.

A thin straggly branch high up in a tree right outside the slider had a long sprig of wild berries. He took some strands of berries by stretching as far as he could on the limb. Then bent the spindly branch so he could curl it toward him to eat.

The last strand of black berries hung way down. Far beyond his grasp, he would scamper off. I wanted to help, but Elliot suggested leaving it to nature.

The morning before the snowfall, we watched him as he stretched so far it was a miracle. What determination. Hanging upside down by the very tips of his claws. Straining farther and farther to grasp the last fruit of the season. Fearing for his life, I silently imagined an angel holding him up.

Then somehow he grabbed that single sprig of berries, broke it off and hurried away. Elliot repeated that old adage. "See, you have to go out on the limb to get the fruit." A good reminder for us all.

With the worst snow storm in 21 years to hit the beach, I decided to reward the little fellah with a big Brazilian nut. He savored each nibble, twirling it between his little paws. "This little guy will be speaking Spanish in no time," Elliot joked, as we watched him eat. The squirrel's diet had been bird seed and sunflower seeds.

So nature is the best way to understand life at times. It speaks to us in parables of seasons through the antics of our animal and bird friends.

Many blessings,

Karen

Under Cover

With so many pine needles and leaves collecting on the car, we try to remember to cover it when we come home.

Yesterday on our way out in the rain, when we pulled back the cover on the passenger side, there was a little tree frog on the window. Soon we uncovered another one. I had to get a picture and ran back to the cottage for the camera.

I was so happy the little duo waited for their celebrity status as I snapped away like a fool in the rain.

I like to think that for all you who are yearning for that perfect mate, take this picture as a hint. Fully Rely on God (F.R.O.G.) that soon a wonderful new partner will be revealed to you. Think of the joy and the places you'll go.

There's Nothin' Like A Good Soak

We had a heavy thunderstorm yesterday afternoon, with torrential rains. When the skies finally cleared, I was hoping to see a rainbow after so much turbulence. I went to the window to look out. Instead of a rainbow this beautiful turtle was stretching his neck in the grass as if to say, "There's nothing like a good soak."

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

P.S. A symbol of the turtle is an invitation for the blessings of both heaven and earth.

Then there were two...

While sitting in the shade of the apple tree, enjoying a  rare cool summer afternoon, my attention was drawn to the cement birdbath in the garden.  Something new was on it.  A strange long cylinder was on the pedestal. Where did it come from?

Soon I had the answer. A black-bluish wasp crawled out of the opening.  I watched it fly away, then return shortly and crawl back inside the cylinder tunnel.

A mud dauber!  I'd seen them build their cement-like nests in the rundown chicken house on Grandma's farm that had been our play house.

As I watched her work, I marveled how this tiny winged one could find her way around this big universe. She knew exactly where to go to get what she needed and how to return home again. She kept up her routine for quite some time. I was so fascinated by the deliberateness of her activity, I wondered about the message.

A search on the web revealed she lays only one larvae in her nest. She collects spiders and insects and attaches them to the larvae to feed it until it has grown to an adult. From the size of her condo, she was expecting a really BIG heir to emerge in the spring.

I watched her realizing all those trips to and fro were to the "grocery" store. Her nest was finished, a handsome one at that. Soon she will plug up the hole. Her mission complete. It's up to the next generation to repeat the cycle, to perpetuate life.

I found a fascinating article written in 1949 by George D. Shafer who after years of study, believes the female has a nervous system that enables her to remember, to learn, and to show individuality. He, too, had an affinity for the mud dauber wasp.

Yesterday morning while feeding the birds, I was surprised to find a new nest beside the first. Twins!

Nature is amazing and I am learning firsthand, that out of nothing, something can suddenly appear that can change your life forever.

Many blessings,

Karen

In Oneness

Lying in bed this morning, I wondered what to blog about? The sea came to mind. I needed to go down to the ocean today. Later, when I opened an old journal, I found this handwritten note on a scrap of paper.

"Just as a drop of the ocean contains every element of the whole body, yet has not the power to do the ocean's work, except as part of and one with the whole ocean just so the soul of man is a drop or portion of this central light, containing every element of force you see projected in the various points of love, strength, understanding." (Edgar Cayce Reading 900-254)

This point was beautifully illustrated when I checked my email this morning. A friend sent a rescue story about a female humpback whale that had become entangled in a spider web of crab traps and lines. She was weighted down by hundreds of pounds of traps that caused her to struggle to stay afloat. She also had hundreds of yards of line rope wrapped around her body, her tail, her torso, a line tugging in her mouth.

A fisherman spotted her just east of the Faralon Islands (outside the Golden Gate ) and radioed for help. Within a few hours, the rescue team arrived and determined that she was so bad off, the only way to save her was to dive in and untangle her -- a very dangerous proposition. One slap of the tail could kill a rescuer.

They worked for hours with curved knives and eventually freed her. W hen she was free, the divers say she swam in what seemed like joyous circles. She then came back to each and every diver, one at a time, nudged them, and pushed gently, thanking them. Some said it was the most incredibly beautiful experience of their lives.

The guy who cut the rope out of her mouth says her eye was following him the whole time, and he will never be the same.

Have a good day with your Angels.

Pay Attention to Detail

A mouse has been appearing this week. She is getting rather plump feeding on the bird seed. Her home is in the green shed in the meditation garden. This morning she was especially brave, coming out with the birds and the squirrels to eat her breakfast. A young female cardinal, a squirrel, and the mouse were enjoying the seed. Seeing them close and together in a row. Elliot said, "That would make a great picture. They're all different yet all One."

Did I really want to take a picture of a mouse? I thought to myself. Mouse is taboo, even though they are intelligent and a member of the rodent family, like a cute chipmunk or a rascally squirrel--but a mouse? I felt bad for discriminating against this little creature made by God like all the rest. The mouse is holy because the Light of God is within her, too. I thought about races of people persecuted in the past because they came into the world wearing a different "costume".

I watched as the mouse innocently nibbled on the seed, not knowing she was different from the others. Her needs were the same. Water, food, shelter, a haven in the storm. I tried to see her with the eyes of love. "I love you with the love of the Christ," I said, remembering a lesson in The Christ Highway. But that subtle uneasy feeling in my solar plexus stayed, maybe stirring a feeling of not being true to myself in fear of being judged. After all, I've been tossing out seed for quite some time now, catching a glimpse of her, now and then.

Then I remembered Mickey, the Disney icon inspired by a mouse in Walt Disney's "shed" of a studio. That mouse brought the whole idea of The Magic Kingdom into existence just by peeking out, taking a risk, and being who he really is. There are so many expressions that define a mouse--timid as a mouse, quiet as a mouse. My own character traits at times. So this little creature of God gave me a lot of food for thought this morning. And as mouse often teaches, pay attention to detail--take a closer look. And so I did.

"Surrounding me is all life that God created in His Love. It calls to me in every heartbeat and in every breath; in every action and in every thought." (A Course in Miracles)

A Pair of Cloud Wings

Stopping on the Jersey Turnpike, the sky was so beautiful, we ate our lunch on the patio. Sparrows and a cute little chipmunk enjoyed the bread crumbs. Too bad, the camera was in the car.

One of my favorite hymns is His Eye Is On The Sparrow. It's so comforting to remember that we are always in His Presence no matter where we are.

A Blessing in Disguise

I wanted to capture the swans on camera, but they were a good distance away. A man who looked like a young Sidney Poiter approached me on the boardwalk. "They'll come closer," he said, reaching into a big plastic bag, he pulled out a bagel and pinched off a piece tossing it in the Peconic River. Sure enough many swans came swimming toward us.

It was one of those perfect sunlit mornings as we enjoyed watching him feed the beautiful swans. He opened his bag filled with bagels that a friend had given to him. "This is all I have," he said. Later, I was guided to offer him a "donation" for his sharing. He looked so surprised when I handed him the money, his eyes lit up and his face became radiant in gratitude. Elliot told him, "You feed the birds and God takes care of you." He smiled and nodded as I reminded him of his angels who are always with him.

Both the Bible and the Edgar Cayce readings remind us to not be forgetful to entertain strangers for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

Enjoy your day with the Angels,

Help at the Pump!

Yesterday on our way home from New York, we stopped for gas in Seaford, Delaware at a Tru Blu Station. Elliot had just commented on high gas prices as we pulled up to the pump. What a surprise to see this praying mantis waiting patiently by the nozzle. No doubt praying for cheaper gas, too!

In Animal-Speak, the message of the mantis is "Power through Stillness." A great hunter because of its ability for stillness, waiting motionless, blending into its surroundings until the most opportune time to suddenly reach out and grasp it's prey.

If every bug, bird, insect, etc. is on a mission, this one obviously was there for a reason. Maybe a reminder to slow down and stay true blue to our Divine Self, rather than running ourselves ragged, trying to make things happen with the ego.

Wishing you a joyful day with your Angels.

Total Solar Eclipse, Deer and 1:01

Today the moon passes between the sun and the Earth and throws its shadow upon our planet's surface. Unfortunately, it will only be visible from Easter Island in the Pacific Ocean. This July 11 solar eclipse is the third summer in a row for such a celestial event.

To add to the specialness of the day, when I opened my eyes early this morning, the beautiful deer had returned. Standing still, like portrait by the apple tree. Last night before bed, I looked out the window wondering where she was. It had been a week since her last visit. Yesterday I carried buckets of fallen apples to the wood's edge where she usually makes her entrance.

Another unusual thing happened this morning. When I looked at the clock it was flashing 1:01 on the dresser. I looked up the meaning in Doreen Virtue's Healing with the Angels book where I discovered that 1's and 0's indicate:

"Powerful Divine guidance from God and the angels ask you to alter your thought. Perhaps you have been praying to be happier and healthier. If so, this is an answer to your prayers. God knows that the solution you seek is born within your thoughts. Ask God to guide the direction of your thoughts and support you during your time of transition."

I also thought about 101 as the basic course or beginner's course on a given subject. One of the ways to love God is by contemplating the wonders of nature. We can encounter God through nature, as the source and the power behind and within nature. Contemplation of nature is powerful. A verse in Psalms says: "The voice of the Lord is in the water, the voice of the Lord is in the earth."

Everything is on a mission. Nothing happens by chance. There is perfect order, perfect direction. Every event fits into a grand design. When we encounter God through the beauty of nature, we enter into a relationship with God, one on one.

Angelic blessings,

Karen

The Guardian Angel of Birds

Birds seem to be a theme for today. It began when I selected an Angel from a new book. To my delight it was Tubiel, the Guardian Angel of Summer and Birds, (The Book of Angels by Angela McGerr.)

Every morning I welcome the day by feeding my bird friends and calling out, "Good morning, God, I love you. This is Rae Karen. "

With all the hot humid weather, I try keeping the bird bath filled. What fun to watch all the splashing. Each with its own particular style of jumping in. A family of cardinals has recently been visiting the meditation garden. These three teens with their bright red tails and crested heads try to out fly each other, practicing their new found skill. Their flight pattern, from the apple tree to the potting shed and back again, has them in a flutter of wings often nearly missing one another.

Nature was kind when I asked for a photo for the blog. A feathered friend willingly landed on the Angel in the garden. I only wish it could have been a close up shot, but you get the picture. Learning about Tubiel this morning was comforting as I know firsthand the gifts birds can bring into our lives. They brighten our days with their cheerful colors, playful antics, and sweet songs.

Elliot shared a verse from the Zohar he had read earlier this morning. "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles."

May your day take flight with the Angels.

A Deer Messenger

There is always music
amongst the trees
in the garden
But our hearts must be
very quiet
to hear
it.

What a delight to stumble upon this old plaque a few days ago at a local Thrift Shop. One man's junk is another man's pleasure and as much as I love trees and flowers it was meant to be. There is the Music of the Spheres, a vibration with a set musical tone that emanates from all things, both animate and inanimate. These tones generate a mood that effects our emotions. In nature, I feel closest to God. On a clear night with the window open, I can almost hear the garden growing...a lovely hum of life.

A few nights ago, I woke up suddenly. From my bed I saw something move in the dark near the old apple tree. My first thought. The deer! She came back for more apples. I first saw her at twilight that evening. It seemed too good to be true.

I stared harder into the blackness. More movement. Then I saw her silhouette under the old tree.

There she was!

Her sweet visit brought unexpected tears. Where they stemmed from, it's hard to say. A deep wellspring in my heart. A cry for the return of innocence in the world.

Once again, I thanked God for knowing my innermost longings, for surely He awakened me at the perfect moment. I know some will say that all moments are perfect. It is only our perception that clouds the miracle. But the deer had come to heal me. The aching in my heart. I, who know about Angels, still have human emotions that make this journey wearisome at times. Although it is a journey without distance to a place we never left. (A Course in Miracles), it is good to share our concerns with the Holy Spirit.

As I lay there, I began talking to the Holy Spirit like I did years ago in the middle of the night when going through a challenge. I thanked Her for being my Comforter, my Healer, my Counselor, my Beloved, my Guide.

Then I asked a question that often puzzles me. Why is it that sometimes wonderful things have a way of opening up in my life, but take a turn unexpectedly leaving me empty handed?

I can't say for sure that the answer came from Her but it made sense. My receiving bowl is tilted. Out of balance. So once something is placed in it, soon it slips out. I need to stay focused on God, remembering God is within me and all is well with my soul, regardless of outside appearances.

I thanked the deer for being a messenger and soon fell into a peaceful sleep.

Angelic blessings,

A Frog Comes A Courtin'

Yesterday afternoon Elliot called upstairs to me, "Hurry! You've got to come see this. There's a little frog looking in our front door. His tiny hands are in prayer position! Talk about fully relying on God!"

I hurried down to take a look. Sure enough he was intently praying. Playfully, I asked,"Are you the same little tree frog I rescued from the trash can many months ago? Have you returned to thank me for answering your prayers that evening?" Knowing that frog is an acronym for Fully Relying On God, I wondered why the deliberate message? Was he reminding us to remember God in our going out and our coming in?

With so much transformation happening in the world, I believe that the frog was a heads up to keep our minds attuned to the heavenly host and not be deceived by our perceptions. Humanity is taking a leap into a higher state of consciousness and the old ways are no longer working. There is a higher realm to live and move in which we are being rebirthed.

I thanked the frog for the visit. He stayed there for several hours and then disappeared as mysteriously as he arrived.

Enjoy your day with the angels knowing that you are never alone.
