A Turkey Vulture Comes to Call: An Angel Message

I hadn't planned to do a blog today.  But while sitting at my desk, a large bird swooped down, with a magnificent wingspan, and landed on the tree outside my window.  I mistook it for a hawk, but when zooming in on this gray day, I discovered a turkey vulture surveying our backyard.

He waited on the limb for quite awhile as I tried to get a good photo through the rain stained windowpane.  At one point, it could have been my imagination, but he crooked his neck and gave me an impatient look, like just do it.  His visitation was so deliberate, I knew it was a message from the Angels.
Curious, I looked up the symbolism of a turkey vulture in Animal-Speak

To my surprise, there were many pages, but here's what I gleaned.  Vultures are known for their keen eyesight, eight times sharper than humans.  They also have a powerful sense of smell. This bird has no voice.  It can force air out of its bill to hiss.  This may be lesson to some that rather than just talking about performing, Perform. Do it and quit talking about doing it.

In alchemy, the vulture brought a promise that the suffering of the immediate was temporary and necessary for a higher purpose was at work, even if not understood at the time.

The turkey vulture soars with grace and ease, it speaks of a coming time when you will be noticed more for what you do than for how you appear.  The turkey buzzard's scientific name, cathartes aura, means "golden purifier".  The keynote for a vulture"  Purification, Death and Rebirth, New Vision.

I was thankful for the reminder that a higher purpose is always at work whether we understand it or not at the time.  Thank you, Angels.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Love and joyful blessings,
