Little Things Count: An Angel Message

This morning a surprise angel message was waiting to be discovered.  A golden heart-shaped leaf had landed on our windshield during the night. On the passenger side, I noticed the sun rays lighting up the heart as Elliot backed down the driveway on our way to the post office.  A wonderful reminder that  Love will always make a way no matter where we go.  Love is reflected in Love.

May your day be filled with peace and your heart full of light as you move along Life's path. Remember you are in the company of God's angels.  The best is yet to be.

Love and peace,

A High Climber: An Angel Message

It's not everyday I see a giant slug peeking in our sun-room...  And, the timing this morning was perfect as I've been dealing with some physical issues that make me feel sluggish.  An amusing sight, I wondered about the angel message.

From previous slug visits, few and far between over the years, I recalled slug had a positive spiritual message.  A quick review revealed more.  When one appears, it's a sign a new path is opening up that proclaims, I am ready to accept change in my life.  The slug is a reminder that soon we'll recognize and realize the illumination always present within us. It's time to focus more on the spiritual side of life.

An uplifting message as who doesn't need more light during these dark times.

Some questions to ask in a self-examination:

Are you staying cloaked, afraid to come out and express your inner talents? Are you trying to do too much too soon?   Slug moves slowly, but steadily, a reminder there are no shortcuts.  Are we not moving out on our own path? Are we locked into the path of others instead of following our own? Do we need to trust in our own ability to create?

As you can see in the photo, slugs are excellent climbers.  This is the first time I've seen one high up on the glass slider eager to get my attention.  The slug brings a message that we can often do much more than what we may have thought physically and spiritually possible.  On a spiritual level it could mean the Biblical phrase, Ask and it shall be given... is active within our life if we know the proper way to ask.

It's comforting to remember that we are not alone in our trials and adversities.  The Holy Spirit and the angels are with us, providing strength and loving guidance to come up higher, and remember our spiritual heritage as a Child of God. The best is yet to be.

Love and peace,

Rae Karen

Happy Be An Angel Day, August 22, 2024

What joy to honor the angels today, and celebrate their presence with random acts of loving kindness.   In 1993, angel author Jayne Howard-Feldman established August 22 as National Be An Angel Day.  A special day to reach out and bless others.   Any small act of kindness goes a long way to bringing a touch of heaven to earth.

It takes a special someone
of a very special kind-

To touch our lives with tenderness,
warmth and love combined.

Your encouragement and comfort
you always seem to lend

It's what makes you so special
and such a true God-send.

So please accept this Angel
so you will always see

Just how special
you truly are to me.

A Floral Apostle with a Message of Victory: Angel Message

Look what my favorite palm tree delivered yesterday morning.  A rare gift had fallen from her crown.   A large, lacy branch, loaded with tiny clusters of dainty flowers, in the shape of a Christmas tree.  Later in the day, a happy host of honeybees buzzed round, feasting on the sweet nectar of life to make honey.   I looked up the symbolism of the tree again, and learned the regal palm is associated with cherubim in the Bible.  Unlike other trees, the palm doesn't branch out in many directions.  Rather it grows strong--reaching straight up toward the heavens.  The elastic-like trunk helps the flexible tree to bend down low during storms so as not to snap.  Maybe that's why it was known as the Phoenix long ago.  A palm tree is a wonderful symbol of victory.

The flowering gift brought to mind another flower gift I received while living on the farm. Maybe you're like me and have a strong bond with the flowers and trees grateful for the wisdom gained from their lessons.  Many years ago, flipping through the day-time channels, I discovered a Christian talk show reviewing a book about a man who talked with the flowers. I tuned in eager to hear the name of this person.  Imagine my surprise to learn he was the famous botanist and brilliant scientist who had discovered many uses for the peanut, as well as many other outstanding contributions. Dr. George Washington Carver.

I ordered the booklet, The Man Who Talks with the Flowers. Glenn Clark's wonderful book about his spiritual friend, Dr. George Washington Carver.  You can find it on Amazon. The intimate life story of Dr. George Washington Carver gives insight into his genius as well as his spiritual connection to nature and the many secrets revealed to him that we too can put into practice.

A fascinating read, offering much hope for our future.

"Dr. Carver said, 'Last night as I rode to the auditorium I was holding a little white flower in my hand all the way, and in the silence while we rode, I was talking to it and it was talking to me. It told me some wonderful things. And the flowers have never failed to tell me the truth. It told me that there is going to be a great spiritual awakening in the world, and it is going to come from people up here, from people connected with you and me, from plain, simple people who know--not merely believe--but actually know that God answers prayer.

'It is going to be a great revival of Christianity, not a revival of religion. We can have religion and still have wars. But this is to be a revival of true Christianity. It is going to rise from the layman, from men who are going about their work and putting God into what they do, from men who believe in prayer, and who want to make God real to mankind.'"

The best is yet to be.

Opening Up to Receive: An Angel Message

Last night an angel thought reminded me to go out and look up at the full moon.   As I gazed up at the glowing full orb, I didn't know it was special.  A Super Blue Moon.  An unusual occurrence that can happen as rare as 20 years apart, but 10 years is the average.  The next Super Blue Moon will appear in January 2037.

Early this morning, an impromptu ride to the lake brought more cosmic light. The ducks are gone for the summer so our trips are few and far between.  But I had a bag of muffins to feed the fish.  As I tossed the crumbled bread onto the waters, little minnows eagerly swam to the surface to eat.  A long-forgotten song from childhood Sunday School popped in. And, I playfully sang to the fish.  "I will make you fishers of men, if you follow me."  Little fish, all sizes--hungrily snapped at the crumbs, darting here and there, enjoying a feast.

Then a loud splash! A large fish jumped out of lake, skipping across the water. My singing no doubt had stirred the waters. I didn't take it personally.   The fish had created a large concentric circle of ripples that spread out across the waters, reflecting the sun in a rainbow.

But there was more light...

I noticed the lotus pads floating in the cool morning water.  Some were bursting open in full bloom ready to embrace the sun.

While rooted in the muddy lake bottom, their tall stems give an appearance the lotus is floating above the dirty waters of attachment and desires.  Water droplets easily slide off their beautiful petals, also symbolizing detachment.

The luminous unfolding petals looked like a cup full of sunshine.  An expansion of the soul. When a lotus appears, higher knowledge is available if we choose to open up to it.  A newer vision will be unfolding soon.

I'm so thankful for these wonderful touches of nature the angels deliver to bring peace and faith to believe the best is yet to be.

Love and peace,

A Green Anole Encounter: An Angel Message

Angel messages can come in all guises often catching us off guard, in a moment's notice. Yesterday, I heard a strange scuffle at the porch door.  Hei-Hei burst into the house.  A long green tail dangling from the cat's mouth.  My heart sank.  Our favorite little outdoor wild "pet", a bright green anole, had been swallowed up. This little lizard had an uncanny way of  peeking into the house, high up on the screen, whenever I needed to remember to smile.

I sprang into action, determined to save him. Green anole brings a message on harmony.

Not on my watch, I thought, grabbing our feisty gray tabby in my arms, green lizard and all.  I asked the angels for help, giving Hei-Hei a firm shake, and a loud NO!

That did it.

The green anole landed on the floor.  Yippee!  He was in one piece as I watched his long green tail scurry  onto the screen porch, ready to be rescued. The chase began--He climbed the screen at rapid speed, quickly changing directions-- sideways, backwards and forwards.  Tiny hooks underneath his flattened toes help to move across seemingly impossible surfaces.

The story had a happy ending. Elliot returned in time to grab a broom, and the lizard moved in a new direction, back to nature where he belonged. Free at last.

His visit prompted a review of anoles.  Do you know they have a pineal eye on top of the head? It helps to sense  lightness and darkness and set the anole's biological clock.  A lesson for us to trust our own inner rhythms, and highly developed perceptions.  Harmony comes by trusting our own perceptions rather than others.

Anole is a reminder there are always things we can do to create harmony at home. These lizards can subtly change color from shades of green to brown depending on heat, humidity, and emotions in order to blend in with the environment.

The biggest take away from this special angel delivery is to avoid getting swallowed up in what is not beneficial for you. Listen and trust your inner guidance.

It's comforting to know that even though we don't have little hooks on our toes enabling us to climb to great heights, we are ever in the company of angels who will guide us and "lift us up lest we dash our foot on a stone."

Love and peace,

Rae Karen

A Balancing Act: An Angel Message

Squirrels are usually seen scurrying about, busy or bursting with nervous energy.  Yesterday while working at my desk, I happened to look up in time to see a curious sight. A little gray squirrel had sprawled out on top of the rough wooden beam on the swing set.  He looked done in by the heat and was taking a rest in the sunlight.  I could relate. I watched him with compassion as he laid there for quite some time.  Rest--seemed to be the angel message.

Striking such a deliberate pose, I decided to look up the spiritual meaning of squirrel.

"If squirrel has scampered into your life, examine your own activity and preparedness.  Are you too active?  Not active enough? Are you becoming too erratic--running to and fro and not accomplishing anything?  Do you need to learn how to save and ration on any level--money, time, energy?  Are you getting hung up on collecting and accumulating?  Are you gathering and not giving?"

Squirrels are about keeping balance within the circle of gathering and sharing.  If we are doing too much of one or they other, squirrel may appear to remind us of balance.  We should also make time to socialize and play.  When work and play go hand in hand, work becomes less difficult and is more fruitful. Funny  the tired squirrel chose to rest on top of the swing set.

I sent a little prayer of peace and healing to my bushy-tailed friend.  Soon he sat up, scratched his head, and scampered away.

Wishing you a day of peace and rest as your angels watch over you.  The best is yet to be.

Love and peace,

Rae Karen

A Leap of Faith from the Lion's Head: An Angel Message

            Now faith is the substance
of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
                                                 Heb.11:1

Years ago, what a surprise to find our tuxedo cat Angel positioned on top of the large lion statue in the living room. It seemed like an angel message.  Her unusual pose reminded me of a scene in the adventure action film, Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade.  Indy's father had gone missing while pursuing the Holy Grail.   His search had led him to a steep precipice with no visible way to cross the deep abyss to save his father and preserve the Grail. The clue he must follow appeared to be a deadly one:

"Only in a leap from the lion's head will he prove his worth."

Sometimes it takes a great leap of faith into the void, like Indy to complete the quest.  Invisible support manifests and a way opens up to bridge to the next plateau to serve others.

Angel's guidance was on time.  Soon we'd  take a leap of faith and leave everything behind to relocate to a new state.

It's encouraging that we are never alone.  Our guardian angels are here to guide, protect, and bless. Love will make a way when we listen and follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit.  The best is yet to be.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Love and joyful blessings,

Rae Karen

An Owl, A Dime, and Rapid Change: Angel Message

It's not everyday I'm awakened by the hooting of an owl.  The sentinel must have perched on the oak outside our window, long before sun up on Monday morning.

WHOO---WHOO---WHOO---WHO?  The wise owl HOOTed in a slow syncopated cadence.  Three distinct, intermittent intervals stirred the dark stillness.  Owls have great vision and hearing.  They are  the eyes of the night, and see what is not out in the open, and hear what is not being said.

The 5:00 a.m. wake up call seemed urgent. Something was up, so it might as well be me.  Prayers are needed everywhere... The earth seems to be spinning out of control.  I don't know anyone not being tested right now to grow spiritually stronger and come up higher.

Solar flare storms are bombarding the Earth with powerful energy that create beautiful aura borealis, but also affect the human electromagnetic fields.  The coronal mass ejections (CMEs) are real.  We've noticed that our activity slows down, and we feel like a lowly ant trying to carry a heavy bagel.  Movement through pressure. Ringing in the ears, pressure in the head, mysterious aches and pains that ping through the body like a pinball machine.  It's a celestial speed-up.  We're being raised up, launched with heavenly help.

But, the good news is that this too shall pass. Hang on.

Monday morning the solar flares were high.  We skipped doing the weekly shopping at the grocery store, and stopped at a neighborhood gas station called Choice to fill up our tank.

While Elliot manned the pump, I ran inside the handy store to buy snacks to get us through the day.  Nothing caught my eye, but on my way out of the mart, I looked down. On the concrete step, I found a shiny dime.  Finding a dime is an uplifting sign of unseen help. I can only count the times I've been so fortunate on one hand.  Years ago, a friend had told me finding a dime is a sign from a departed loved one drawing near or an angel message that you're on the right path.

As I sat in the car with the dime in my hand, I saw the date was 2022.  222 is a number of the Blessed Mother.  Elliot was capping off the gas tank, when I looked up and saw a large advertisement sign.  You know how sometimes you see things in a different light. It was like an angel pointed it out to me. An explanation on what's happening. In big, bold red letters,  Rapid X change.  I laughed... that's what my body was feeling under so much pressure.  But, then I noticed the smaller words in white. "Relax - It's filled with Safety!"

We are all blessed to have guardian angels and the Holy Spirit with us.

Back at home, I had energy to make banana muffins, and there was plenty to get  us through the day.

I'm so thankful for these little notes of encouragement from the angels.  There's more going on than we can presently understand.  It's a time to walk by faith and not by sight.  Trust that Love will make a way. You may want to pay attention to any messages that may sneak up on you to give you hope and faith that all is well. Relax, give thanks that God is in charge.

Love and peace,

Rae Karen

Patience and Perserverance: Angel Message

Blessed are those who wait.
The globe whistles past them.
The sharpest bit of the world
doesn't deter their gaze
from the promised direction.
--Ulla Hahn

Time, space, and patience are all inter-related. "Infinite patience brings immediate effects." I'm learning more and more that when I'm patient and loving, time seems to slow down. And what is mine to do will get done in this space of physical existence.

I grabbed the dictionary to look up the word patient:  "Bearing pains or trials calmly or without complaint; steadfast despite opposition, difficulty, or adversity."

Years ago,  I often asked God to give me patience! My impatience was a sure sign I didn't have any.   Then a friend heard me and commented, never pray for patience.  For it implies that you need to practice patience and many opportunities will be given to learn patience. It's better to give thanks daily that you already have patience.  I took that advice to heart...life is trying enough without putting in an order to receive more patience.

Over the past years, we've enjoyed watching three generations of sandhill cranes neighbors raise their colts and then take to the sky.  A joyful sight to watch the family fly in formation after four or five months of patience, waiting for the young to grow their wings.

These long-legged, stately birds are a remnant of prehistoric times. Intense amber-orange glowing eyes, long sharp beak,  a red heart-shaped mask. Often they sidle me as I sweep the front walk with my long handled broom.  When I happen to look up, I'm startled.  "Oh, there you are."

I tried something different this week, broke the usual morning routine to enjoy the fresh air before it got too hot.  The little prayer garden was long neglected and needed some tender loving care.  Rooting around in the soil in the shade of the palms was both healing and renewing.  Sinking your fingers into Mother Earth is my way of staying in the now.  Weeding, watering, planting, transitioning the old and bringing in the new to create a little patch of beauty. A quick trip to the garden center added a finishing touch. Eight bushy pentas in star-clusters of white or pink. Tired old planters were refreshed with new life.  Sweat poured off my brow as I returned to the house to admire the view from the living room window.

What happened next was a big test of patience.  The newly restored garden was being uprooted by the young crane.  Pecking up and down, his sharp bill hammered freshly potted pentas by the bird bath.

Trying not to huff,  I hurried out and put in the correction, packing the flowers back down in the planter. The cranes are usually calm and deliberate, drinking from the bird bath or pecking in the grass for bugs or seed.  The incident was forgotten... until on a mail run that afternoon.  What a shock! Pink pentas were strewn on the lawn, gasping in the hot sun. Thankfully, still intact, I quickly moved the bunch to a safer place far from the beak of a pesty gardener.

I wondered why the pentas?  His behavior resulted in a search on-line. The name penta comes from the word pente which means a succession of five, and these plants have clusters of five-petaled flowers and are often named star flower.
I was grateful for the angel message.  Sandhill cranes are spiritual guardians... and this new year coming up is about the number 5, which is expansion.  Our consciousness is rising up from the earth, expanding to the stars.  The best is yet to be.

Peace and love,
Rae Karen

Red Hawk Forecast

The hawk has been my angel messenger for many, many years.   Whenever one shows up, I pay attention to the hawk's behavior in that moment.  It will provide a clue on how to best handle a current or upcoming situation.

Yesterday we were faced with tropical storm Debby in the forecast. Late in the afternoon, I happened to see our cat amused by a large grasshopper on the living room window looking into the house. Grasshoppers are about taking big leaps of happiness.  That's when I saw something unusual near the end of the driveway. It looked like a plump red hawk sitting on the fence post unfazed by sheets of pouring rain.  I couldn't believe it. With my camera I zoomed in.  There she was!  A sentinel, posted on the wood post, rain dripping off her bright yellow beak, and those downy red feathers soaking wet, but she wasn't moved by the weather. She kept watch like a hawk at her post.

But there was more to come...

This afternoon while blogging at my desk about the hawk in the rain, whoa!  I looked up from typing just as she landed on the roof of the old wood playhouse close outside my office window.  You can't make these things happen.  Her timing was both amazing and startling.  Wind ruffled through her feathers as she quickly looked around, and then flew away leaving me with a question.  Why the playhouse? Was her message for me to lighten up and be playful, to enjoy each precious moment?  Her divine timing served as another reminder. Our thoughts have wings and can take flight and manifest right on time, so be vigilant and optimize what we are thinking.

Because of their keen vision and strength all hawks are guardians. Hawk's appearance always heralds a time of greater strength and vision which will help us tremendously in our present efforts.  We'll have protection on our journeys and goals so be prepared to advance.

We are so grateful for all the prayers of protection for our beloved State, Land of Flowers.

"For He shall give His angels charge over you..."  (Psalm 91)

Love and peace,

Rae Karen

Entertaining Angels. Is Anybody Home?

The busyness of our daily lives competes for our attention, lessening our likelihood of recognizing the influence of angels.  To stay angel-minded is to still the mind and tune inward, listening for divine inspiration.  Our true spiritual home is in the One Mind, in God and to entertain angels unawares it is necessary to abide in the Mind.

We were made in God's image.  We are spiritual, dwelling in the divine Mind.  By remembering this wonderful truth, we can feel the presence of angels, and we can "entertain" them.  By being at home to angels, we find ourselves engaged in a heavenly realm.

When an angel message comes our thoughts are lifted to a higher idea of God, of Christ consciousness. We have a clearer vision.  If we take time to open the door and invite these loving messages into our mind, we find ourselves becoming more useful and patient with those about us.  By keeping alert for entertaining our angel visitors, there is nothing we shall not know when in need.   But often our distractions drown out the heavenly rap on the door, and our celestial visitors are shut out of our consciousness. We miss out on the golden opportunities, the Thoughts of God, that come enfolded in angel wings of Love, to give us Life and that more abundantly.

Mary Baker Eddy, founder of Christian Science, defines angels this way:  "Angels are not etherealized human beings, evolving animal qualities in their wings; but they are celestial visitants, flying on spiritual, not material pinions."

Today I will try my best to stay more vigilant for entertaining angels by keeping my mind at Home in God.  When divine inspiration knocks, I will open the door in gratitude, and welcome these celestial visitors.  "Angel-food cake, anyone?"

Love and peace,

Rae Karen

Monkey-Mindedness: An Angel Message

Are you feeling a restlessness, a lack of control in your own thinking? Confused, unsettled?  The angels point out your inner critic--the part of our brain connected to ego--is directing the show.  The monkey- mind stifles creativity and prevents you from moving forward with confidence.  Loud, and incessant, it must be heard--easily distracted to get anything done.

Now more than ever, the monkey-mind can leave one feeling like you have a 200-pound gorilla on your back, weighing you down, and stealing your joy in the moment.

We can shut down the monkey-mind, but it will take vigilance.  First step is to become aware that it is trying to vie for your attention.  Then, calm down. Stop and take a deep breath.  Focus on being fully present in the here and now.  You are in the presence of angels.  Breathe... invite the Holy Spirit to let you have peace instead of the problems that are weighing you down. Let go.  Stay in the now. You will begin to feel a lessening of tension, a loosening up, a stirring of lightness.   Smile and relax.  The best is yet to be.

An optical vintage postcard clearly illustrates the choice is ours as to whether or not we let the monkey- mind overshadow our portrait.  Chose to ask the Holy Spirit for help and watch what happens.

Love and peace,

Rae Karen
