Eeee-yore: Are you Willing? An Angel Message

Our neighborhood donkey family has a new member... This sweet little baby eagerly pranced to the fence for love pats. The touch of his white furry head and those big innocent eyes made the moment special.

When the pics were uploaded, because of the bright sunlight, I'd managed to get only a close up of his big brown eye.   A message--to watch my will.  It's our personal will that gets us up and moving in the right direction.  We may know something, but it's only through our willingness to act that we will reach a goal.  The angels remind us there are two wills:  the ego-will and the divine-will.

When you encounter a donkey, reflect on your will and how it relates to your motivation. The ego always speaks first and is the loudest. Often stubborn and headstrong.  This ego-will represents the lesser energy and results in a short-lasting achievement. Our ego's wishes can put up a roadblock to divine will.  Motivation and intent are the inner way, and harmonize with a person's true knowledge and good conscience.  The soul, with its will, always directs itself according to the divine plan.  If you really listen deeply to your heart, you'll be able to tell what is right and fitting for you.  By keeping inner harmony in your consciousness, you will go along your road step by step.

And, no donkey angel blog would be complete, without a friendly nod, a word from our wise, loving friend at the Orchid Farm.  Allahambra.  Listen and obey.  Love always makes a way.

Have a peaceful day, and listen to your heart before stepping forward.

Love and peace,

Rae Karen

A Cup of Tea on Youth: An Angel Message

A timely angel message on Youth caught me by surprise.  It tumbled out of an old journal.  The bottom of a tea box I'd saved years ago.  It was just my cup of tea for today.

YOUTH
"Youth is not a time of life--it is a state of mind. It is not a matter of healthy cheeks and supple knees, it is a temper of the will, a quality of the imagination , a vigor of the emotions, it is a freshness of the deep springs of life.  Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity, of the appetite for adventure over the love of ease.  This often exists in a person of fifty more than in a person of twenty.

Nobody grows old by merely living a number of years,
we grow old only by deserting our ideals."

The angels bring encouragement  to "step out of the box" of limitations and begin to live life anew with a fresh perspective on who you are and why you are here.  Smile to life today.

Love and joyful blessings,

Mega Angel Signposts: An Angel Message

Our angels often speak in symbols that convey a special message for each of us. Over the years, the iris has been a sign I am on the right path, even though it doesn't always feel that way.  Many unusual iris manifestations caught my attention causing a BIG shift in consciousness, and how I was living my life. The iris messages were a signal to keep moving forward and have more faith -- much more was going on than meets the physical eye.

I've noticed that whenever I step out of my routine and become spontaneous, the angels will reveal a brand new way of seeing the world.  Yesterday at the orchid farm, I spotted an African iris swaying in the breeze. Irises aren't as plentiful here in Florida, so it was a treat.  Another unusual opportunity presented itself when exiting.  A giant gopher tortoise lumbered across the field, a testimony to moving forward under great pressure...he was still running his race. Take a look.

May the eyes of your heart open wide today, and behold all the wonders of God's love around you.

And, if an iris crosses your path, embrace the angelic message to maintain hope.  A new birth is at hand. We're experiencing a quantum celestial speedup.  Keep on moving towards the light.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Love and peace,

Rae Karen

A Loving Portrait: An Angel Message

A picture's worth a thousand words, and when we're feeling a little bit under the weather or beaten down by the world, our guardian angel holds the memory of our true identity in Spirit.  Years ago, this amusing artwork surfaced from an angel search of the Library of Congress collection.  The title, Look Pleasant Please, made me smile.  At the time, I was suffering from an acute case of self-pity.  The "Why me?" blues syndrome. Not realizing all my challenges were really gifts, designed to raise my thinking to a higher consciousness, to strengthen my spiritual muscles.

I laughed at myself when faced with this surprising picture of an angel. My mood lifted, dispelling my angst.  A loving reminder that we each have a Guardian Angel who knows us better than we know ourselves.  This angel companion throughout our life remembers our true identity as a Child of Light, and will bear witness to our spirit, not our ego. With a broad bush of loving kindness, and a colorful palette of patience, joy, love, peace, humility, grace, and forgiveness, our angel paints a portrait of our true Self.

And, whenever we may stumble and fall, our Guardian Angels offers a hand of encourage to get up and try again.  The best is yet to be.   Brighter days are up ahead.  Love will make a way.

O Guardian Angel, cover me with thy wing;
O Friend, illumine my path.  Direct my
footsteps and be my protection,
just for today.

--St. Therese of Lisieux

We give thanks to our angel companions.

Love and peace,

Rae Karen

Beyond the Stars, Deep Within: An Angel Message

The Milky Way Galaxy (Wikimedia Commons)

I believe in one God--sole, eternal--He who, motionless,
moves all the heavens with his love and his desire...
This is the origin, this is the spark that then extends into
a vivid flame and, like a star in heaven, glows in me.
DANTE ALIGHIERI
Paradise XXIV

In the Psalms, we read: "The heavens are telling the glory of God. The sky declares the work of His Hands."

When looking up at the vast night sky, how humbling to realize that we are a part of such a wondrous creation.  The Milky Way Galaxy, where we live, measures 100,000 light years across.  The ratio of our little solar system is like a little cul-de-sac the size of a quarter (coin) in our galaxy as vast as the North American continent.

A quote by a Einstein captures our limited human intelligence.

The human mind is not capable of grasping the Universe.
We are like a little child entering a huge library.
The walls are covered to the ceiling with books in
many different tongues.  The child knows that
someone must have written these books.
It does not know who or how.
It does not understand the languages in which
they are written.  But the child notes a definite plan
in the arrangement of the books.
...a mysterious order which it does not comprehend.
but only dimly suspects.

As magnificent as the physical universe appears to be, there's even a greater spiritual kingdom dwelling within us that Christ talked about when he said, "My kingdom is not of this world." He taught "Seek ye first the kingdom within, and all things shall be added unto thee."

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Love and blessings,

Rae Karen

Learning to Bend: An Angel Message

I recall a special time resting on this stone bench, gazing at the clear reflection pool. I was feeling rather hollowed out when an angel nudge had me look at the old tree shading me from the sun.  I could see the deep ruts in her weathered trunk, and could relate as she seemed like a shadow of what she had once been.  Those gray twisted branches were still in service, welcoming weary pilgrims at St. Augustine to take a rest and relax.

I could see the old cedar was humble and resilient having faced many hurricanes and storms.  A willingness to bend seemed to be her message to me.  Rooted deep in holy ground, she was a living testimony to the wisdom of being flexible.

Now she appeared to have grown in grace, humbly bowing down low, arms arched back, welcoming all to take a deep dive in the cool waters of the reflection pool.

That wise, old tree was a teacher for me.  I had been grappling with a longstanding issue and felt a need to take matters into my own hands. But in the tranquil moment under the bough of the graceful cypress, I could see the importance of not becoming too rigid.  To never try and force an issue.

On a playful whim, I decided to ask the old tree a question.  I wondered if she was happy to have lived her life that way--always bending and serving this way.  Did she regret that she wasn't like the other trees, growing straight and tall?

It may sound silly, but I felt a smile from her quick retort, "Well, you're talking to me, aren't you?  I don't see you entertaining the normal trees."

I laughed at her wit, and recognized that often we are cast in a different posture in life, not as stately or outstanding as most others, but in an open inviting way that makes one unique and easily accessible.  I know that we are not these bodies; we are pure sparks of God.  What matters in the end is not how well we've lived so much as how well we have loved and served and made the world a better place by just being here.

Sometimes, nature will tap us on the shoulder to help us gain introspection.  The funny thing is the problem may not be what you think the problem is.  It is a matter of reflection.  Splash!

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Love and joyful blessings,

Rae Karen

"I could see peace instead of this."

This nagging photo brings to mind,  "I could see peace instead of this."   (Lesson 34, ACIM)

"Peace of mind is clearly an internal matter.  It must begin with your own thoughts, and then extend outward.  It is from your peace of mind that a peaceful perception of the world arises."

The peace exercise begins by searching your mind for any fear thoughts, anxiety provoking circumstances, "offending" personalities or events, or any way in which you may be entertaining unloving thoughts.

Then repeat the phrase: I could see peace instead of this, slowly with eyes closed as you watch those thoughts arise in your mind, and let each one go, to be replaced with the next.

If it is difficult to think of specific issues continue to repeat the lesson slowly to yourself:  I could see peace instead of this."

Whenever you feel your peace being disturbed in any way, repeat:  "I could see peace instead of this."

Another helpful phrase you can tell yourself specifically:  "I can replace my feelings of depression, anxiety or worry (or my thoughts about this situation, personality or event) with peace."

I put it into practice.  As I began to choose to focus my attention on peace, instead of the problem, I realized how much energy I often waste brewing over an issue.  With peace, answers can naturally unfold for the highest good of all. Love is always the answer.  The Holy Spirit will assure that the problem will be a win-win for all.

The Holy Spirit and the angels are here to help us stay on course, and find peace and joy, moment by moment.  You are never alone.  God loves you.

Love and blessings,

Rae Karen

Don't Panic, Just Float... An Angel Message

Sometimes it may seem as though one is hopelessly entangled in a great many false beliefs:  fear, sickness, guilt, and discouragement are binding.  Freedom seems to avail itself to everyone else, and struggle as he may, it eludes him completely.

Recently a helpful story illustrated this point. Two friends had gone swimming in the ocean.  When a considerable distance from the beach, one became enmeshed in seaweed that severely hampered his ability to move.  So entangled did he become that he feared for his life.  He struggled with the weed to kick it from him, desperately trying to free himself, but to no avail.  The harder he fought, the more determined did it cling around him.  Becoming fearful, he shouted to his companion for help.  His friend advised him to stop struggling and stay calm, to just float, letting the waves carry away the obstruction.  He tried this plan and found that it worked, for quite soon all the seaweed had washed away.

This experience reminded me of how often fear tempts us to become more and more involved in difficulties.  How fear urges us to fight, wrestle and wrangle...only to find we become even more entangled in false, erroneous beliefs.  Tired and discouraged, at last the divinely inspired angel message comes:  "Wait patiently for divine Love to move upon the waters of mortal mind and form the perfect concept.  Patience must have her perfect work."

Floating in a sea of confidence and faith, the pure flow of God's infinite love washes away whatever had us in a grip.  God is the director of our life... we can relax...float in the truth of divinity.  Divine Love will always make a way. God is Love.

Love and peace,

Rae Karen

Happy Valentine's Day: An Angel Message

Angels often sneak up with little heart-felt treasures to let you know that God is Love. They speak to you in a language that makes your heart sing.  A message that means something special to you.  Their timing is always divine--just when you need it most.

That's what happened this morning before dawn when I let Hei-Hei out on the back porch.   I found myself stepping outside in my pajamas to greet the chilly dawn. I was glad I did.  The pasture next door was a vision of peace, a portrait of stillness as I breathed in the freshness of a new day.  Suddenly a brush of angels wings stirred the sky above me.  A large flock of snowy white ibis flew above me and I waved my arms in gratitude, softly calling out in a welcoming cry as they flew in formation toward the sunrise.

I caught a glimpse of the Snow Moon above the tree tops.  It shone like a valentine through heart shape branches of neighboring trees.   In that special moment, everything seemed expansive, stretching me beyond my five senses into a vision that we are all more than we know.  God is All.

Coming back down the driveway, something else caught my eye.  A rain puddle in the pavement mirrored the beauty of my favorite old tree.  Today is a day of quiet reflection.  A time to be still and remember all the ways God has come through to show His Love for you.  You are His valentine.

Maybe...

I want to share some words of wisdom by an unknown source I found on-line many years ago.

"Maybe God wanted us to meet the wrong people before meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift.

Maybe when the door of happiness closes, another opens, but often times we look so long at the closed door that we don't see the one which has been opened for us.

Maybe the best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on the porch and swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had.

Maybe it's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives.

Giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they will love you back. Don't expect love in return; just wait for it to grow in their heart; but if it does not, be content it grew in yours. It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an hour to like someone, and a day to love someone, but it takes a lifetime to forget someone.

Don't go for looks, they can deceive. Don't go for wealth, even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile. It takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright. Find the one that makes your heart smile.

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, and enough hope to make you happy.

Always put yourself in others' shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably hurts the other person, too.

The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything. They just make the most of everything that comes their way. Happiness lies for those who cry, those who hurt, those who have searched, and those who have tried, for only they can appreciate the importance of people who have touched their lives."

Wishing you a peaceful day,
Rae Karen

Grow in Silence: An Angel Message

God is the friend of silence.
See how nature...
trees, flowers, grass
grow in silence.
See the stars, the moon and sun
how they move in silence.
The more we receive in silent prayer
the more we can give in our active life.
We need silence to be able to touch souls.

Splashes of Joy: An Angel Message

Yesterday's trip to the Dollar Tree to find flat glass marbles paid off.  Three little bags of splashes of joy along with a new glass bowl were soon on my nightstand.  I got the idea from an uplifting book that found me at the Book Nest on Sunday.  Each little marble--a droplet of joy--a splash--can be a reminder of how God has come through for you in the past. To not lose faith.  To keep on going... Who doesn't need a splash of joy right now?  A little memento, a droplet of joy to share with others.  A marble to tuck away in your purse or set on the kitchen windowsill...a little day brightener to catch you by surprise when feeling low.

Well, more was to come...  Early this morning I woke up to a LOUD crash!  Our scared feisty feline, Hei-Hei, fled in the dark.  He had knocked my bowlful of joy off the nightstand.  Let the day begin in joy... I quietly turned on the lamp.  In spite of the rude awakening, something took me by surprise, a subtle shift at the sight of all those sea-foam marbles glistening on the beige carpet. Each one a splash of joy.

I was at peace.

Maybe there's something to these splashes of joy--I thought, amazed by my calmness.  I found myself oddly amused, picking up the marbles one by one among the sharp glass shards of what had been my new bowl.  Oddly enough, one joyful splash landed in the floor vent by the bed. I tried to get it out, but the idea of adding a splash of joy to the air no matter what season seemed to be a good one.  Splash of joy sounds like the latest perfume--why not splash a dab behind your ears as you begin your day with the angels.

Please reach out your hand, and accept a splash of joy from me to you today.  The best is yet to be. Stay strong. You are not alone... God loves you.

Love and peace,

Rae Karen

Don't Give Up: An Angel Message

The man who removed the mountain
began by carrying away small stones.
     ~Chinese Proverb

In the Bible, God often sent His angel to deliver a message in a dream to show a new way and give assurance that they were not alone.  God was in control, so not to fear.  The prophetic dream provided fresh insight--a breakthrough--to keep on believing in the promise given and not be swallowed up by a sense of failure.

The Angel of Endurance beckons, stick to what we've undertaken to do.  Sometimes things get too difficult and we're tempted to give up.  A sense of meaningless takes hold.  We tell ourselves what's the point, it can never happen.  And...nothing develops.  We scatter our energies and lose the thrust.  After awhile, we begin not to trust in our inner guidance.

In order for something to grow it must take root.  In the scripture, Christ says:  "They have no root in themselves, but endure for a while; then when trouble or persecution arises... immediately they fall away." (Mark 4:17)

It takes great learning to understand that we are not simply prey to our circumstances.  We can do something.  It begins by trusting that we are not alone.  His Angels have been given charge over us to guide us in all of our ways.  Our problems come to help develop our spiritual muscle.

When you want to quit, your five senses are deceiving you.  Claim the Truth that you live and move in an atmosphere of divine Love.  You're a spiritual being in a physical experience.  Open up and pray to receive greater wisdom, with understanding comes peace, bolstering faith. And, a way will appear where there was none. Love will make a way.

It's comforting to know that no matter where we are or what we're doing, we are never alone.  We are always in loving companionship with unseen celestial messengers, the angels of His Presence. God is Love.

Love and blessings,

Rae Karen
