It may sound a little squirrelly...and out of the box...but yesterday afternoon I happened to catch a rare sight in the garden. At that time, I'll admit I needed a lift in my spirit. An angel message from nature. That's when I spotted this gray squirrel from the bedroom window. I could hardly believe it. There he sat cuddled against Mother Mary's arm while nibbling away on a white morsel. A picture of grace as I marveled at the balancing act. The statue is not solid but made of lightweight material and should have toppled over from his weight. In that moment, it did seem like an angel message that God always provides. Also, a loving reminder of how motherly love helps to maintain a balance, knowing all things are possible with God. Mother Mary brings stability, love, and grace to life.
And squirrel teaches...to keep a balance in our giving and in our receiving, in play and work. To build a firm foundation to prepare.
By the time I grabbed my camera, his cute repast was done, his stance shifted. He'd let down his bushy tail as if giving her a hug and then turned my way so I could share a photo with you (through the window screen). Squirrels have seasoned my life with playful joy as far back as I can remember. My heaviness suddenly lifted as I realized I'm often a hard nut to crack...but laughter brings comic relief, and is good medicine for the heart. The best is yet to be. Remember you are never alone, "God has given His angels charge over you.. ." Claim the promises in Psalm 91, and watch for amazing results.
Love and peace,
Rae Karen
