Wings of Prayer: An Angel Message

Early this morning Sadie our wild turkey friend turned up in the yard, alone.

I watched her from the living room window. She stopped and turned her head, sensing my presence at the window.

As she walked away, silently I asked the angels to watch over her.  What a surprise-- immediately her wings fluttered, opening wide in gratitude.  In that moment, the angels seemed to be having fun. I laughed, thankful for the reminder that our prayers mean more than we realize.  At the moment we pray, we connect to the most powerful force in the universes.   God's Love.

A Peek from a Lotus: New Vision Coming

A torrential storm last evening gave way to a beautiful bright sunny morning at the lake.  The ducks were absent, but a single white blossom floating among the lily pads delivered an angel message to greet the new day.

Lotus is a member of the lily family, and symbolizes divine birth, purity.  An opening up to greater spiritual awareness.

While rooted in the mud, the lotus flowers bloom on tall stems that make it appear as though the lotus is floating above the dirty waters of attachment and desires.   Drops of water easily slide off its luxuriant petals, also symbolizing detachment.  The unfolding petals represent an expansion of the soul.  Lotus bring the message that higher knowledge is available if we choose to open up and receive.  This flower alerts us to a newer vision that will be unfolding soon. Another name for a lotus is a sea rose.

Symbols are helpful to convey spiritual messages from on-high.  The lotus is a picture of great beauty and victory over the trials and seeming hopeless situations we need to rise above and blossom in our soul.   I'm so grateful for these uplifting messages that offer hope and faith to keep on doing our best.   The storms in life pass, and we are given a new vision, a higher perspective as to why things are the way they are. In the end, it was all for good spiritual growth.

Love, peace, and joy,

Rae Karen

A Loving Touch: An Angel Message

Early this morning I stepped outside to scatter birdseed in the quiet stillness of a new day. A holy hush filled the air, and my gaze turned upward above the treetops in the pasture. The full moon was all aglow in her splendor, hanging low in the dawn sky.  And, through the eye of the camera, a tender moment appeared. The  old towering pine had reached up to lovingly touch the face of Bella Luna.

The angels encourage us to reach out and touch someone in need of encouragement today.   The person may cross your mind or be a chance encounter as you go about your day.  You will know it in your heart. Everyone can use a little tender care during these challenging times.  A little loving touch goes a long way to brighten up the life of another.

Love and peace,

Angel of Miracles

An amazing abundance of blessings popped up on our lawn yesterday afternoon.  Our wild turkey friend who had stopped by on Saturday had returned, but not alone.  She felt our yard was a safe place to bring her new flock of seven adorable little chicks.

I did a little research.  The chicks are called Poults and are born in a ground nest with their siblings.  A mother may lay 8-15 eggs.  Baby turkeys can walk and run within hours after birth, and by the size of these little ones they were probably just a few days old.  An egg tooth helps the turkeys break free from their egg.  They recognize each other by the sounds of their voices.

Synchronicity played out today--the language of angels.  When dropping off donations at a local Angel Thrift Shop, I found a precious angel statue for sale.  The Angel of Miracles cradles an egg while the chick hatches her way out of the shell. A comforting image to recall when we go through periods of great transition and transformation.   An angel is always present, helping with the new birth.   The best is yet to be.

Love and peace,

A Tender Moment of Gratitude

Speaking of gratitude and thanksgiving, look who showed up in the yard on Saturday.

A sweet young wild turkey...usually they are skittish and run at the first sign of a human
but she stood still and waited patiently.  An angel thought said, she must be hungry, so I
asked her if she wanted me to get her some seed.  Her brown eyes focused on me and
I quietly went inside and returned with a cupful of wild bird seed.
When I tossed a handful in her direction, eagerly she came forward, unafraid.  It was such a
humble blessing that she trusted me.

The wild turkeys have mostly moved on since all the construction equipment is buzzing in the backwoods.  This one ate hardy and then satisfied, quickly strutted back down the path into the forest, leaving a blessing for such a tender moment of thanksgiving and gratitude for eyes to see the beauty of God in all Life.

Have a blessed day with your Angels.   Thank  you, God,  for giving your angels charge over us.

Love and peace,

Rae Karen

A Special Lesson on Commitment

Some nature lessons from angels make more of a lasting impression and pop up when inspiration is needed. In looking back, I fondly recall a powerful lesson from a squirrel on commitment.  It happened while living on the farm in Virginia Beach. I was sitting on the sofa talking on the phone when I heard a loud thud. A huge walnut had dropped from the cottage roof and hit the deck, followed by an eager squirrel. My digital camera was beside me on the table.Usually a bushy-tailed squirrel's bounty is a mere acorn, but this was an amazing exception.  The green walnut was the biggest I'd seen, way too big to transport in his mouth. I watched him struggle to find a way to carry away his over-sized prize. Below he's trying his best to straddle it with his paws like a large green soccer ball.

When that didn't work, he switched to Plan B.  Before long, his determination paid off.  He managed to do what seemed impossible.  Somehow he wrapped his mouth around the nut and flew as fast as his little legs would carry him toward the old apple tree.  When he couldn't hold on much longer, he made a giant leap through the air, and landed on a spindly apple tree limb that bounced the big green walnut right out of his mouth.

The headstrong squirrel seemed satisfied that he'd gone the distance.  Now, his prize could be buried in the yard, safe for another day.  His enthusiasm was impressive, and I thanked him for the lesson on not quitting when things seem impossible. God will make a way.

Such a determination reminded of the poem by N.W. Murray on the Scottish Himalayan Expedition in 1951.

Commitment

Until one is committed
there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back,
always ineffectiveness.

Concerning all acts of initiative and creation
there is one elementary truth,
the ignorance of which kills countless ideas
and splendid plans
and the moment one definitely commits oneself,
then Providence moves too.

All sorts of things occur to help me
that otherwise would never have occurred.
A whole stream of events issue from the decision
raising in one's favor all manner of
unforeseen incidents and meetings
and material assistance.
which no man could have dreamt
would have come his way.

I have learned a deep respect
for one of Goethe's couplets:

"Whatever you can do, or dream you can...begin it.
Boldness has genius, power and magic in it."

A powerful reminder to take to heart . . . "and the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too."

Have a blessed weekend.

Love and peace,

Move to the Light: An Angel Messenger

Angels messengers in nature come in all shapes and sizes--each with a unique message.  An unusual and not so attractive slimy messenger popped up this morning.  On a whim, I had stepped into the raised flowerbed to deadhead geraniums after yesterday's storms. Afterwards with a handful of soggy pink and white faded blooms, I stepped back down off the wall of large rocks around the flowerbed.  Looking down at my feet, I saw it.   A wide baby brown slug clinging to a weathered rock on the border.  Somehow I had  avoided not stepping on it.  The slug is one of those angel messengers that brings a twinge of guilt that I am moving too slow.  Following the angel nudge for a photo, I ran for the camera, thinking for sure I had plenty of time.  Slug moves ever so  s-l-o-w... but what a surprise...this one had raced off without a trace.

Ages since a slug crossed my path, I was curious about the message. I turned to the Animal-Speak Pocket Guide.  Slug symbolizes move to the light.  "No shortcuts exist right now.   Illumination is at hand.  Appearances are deceiving, but you have found your path."  More research revealed the slug is a member of the snail family, without a shell.   It was an ancient divination tool considered sacred.  The slimy trail was  guidance in the direction of life decisions.  Hmm...this one had disappeared.

Slugs, hardly attractive...usually invoke a message of laziness.  But, as I later learned, they are important symbols:  Take your time, attach to what priorities are important to you, and let go of all your old outworn patterns.   Although these creatures cannot see shapes and colors, they silently and slowly move toward the light.  Slugs represent higher vision.  Keep moving toward the light.  And be true to yourself, the path will open up along the way, inch by inch.  Everything you need is within you.The slug is also related to the letter yud in the Hebrew alphabet, both are shaped similarly.  When the slug appears, we are opening to receive a higher vision.  A new path is opening. We are setting an intention to accept change in our life.

I am so thankful for the uplifting message for us all to keep moving to the Light.  Keep shining.

Love and peace,

Rae Karen

A Surprise Birthday Messenger

"Just living is not enough," said the butterfly.
"One must have sunshine, freedom and a little flower."
 -- Hans Christian Anderson

Thanks to the angels, my birthday unfolded moment by moment, filled with delightful surprises.  On our way to lunch at an old lakeside hotel in Mount Dora, "Mother Nature" called, for a pit stop at the local library.  That's how we happened upon this beautiful butterfly garden next door.

As I got out of the car what a surprise!  A little wildflower had managed to bloom in the parking lot.  Her back against the cement curb, and a narrow crack in which to grow.  My heart had compassion for her journey. Seeded by the winds, just beyond the entrance to the Butterfly Garden, where the other clusters of Coreopsis grew in rich garden beds, this little volunteer had managed to bloom.

"Look at me!" she joyfully shouted,  orange fringed petals opened to greet the sun.  A picture of victory and endurance.  "I bloomed! I did it! And, so can you!  Don't ever quit. And, do your best day-by-day to keep reaching toward the light.  God will do the rest."

Later, I looked up the symbolism of Coreopsis on-line, and learned in 1991 it was designated the state wildflower of Florida.  This flower represents hope and resonates encouragement to persevere through difficulties. They have a long blooming season and are associated with endurance and passage of time, reminding us of the nature of life and relationships.

I'm so thankful for these wonderful messages from nature that bless our soul and give us strength to keep on doing our best.  To have more faith and less fear.  The world is full of beautiful expressions of God's love, and so are you.

Love and peace,

Rae Karen

A Mother's Day Reflection: An Angel Message

As synchronicity would have it, this unexpected photo turned up on my first Mother's Day without her.
An angel nudge said take a closer look.   An old black phone was on the table beside her.  A wonderful reminder that our communication lines are open with our departed loved ones.   Love links our hearts for all eternity.

Our true reflection is perfect and radiant as we are created in the image and likeness of God.

Happy Mother's Day!

Be Not Anxious for Tomorrow: An Angel Message

During these fearful times of shifting sands, the challenge is to try our best to use the troubling situations we face as an opportunity to awaken from spiritual amnesia.  A wake-up call to rise up higher and keep the faith.  Adversity can be a gift to grow spiritually when embraced as Children of Light, and we have heavenly help to guide and comfort us, bringing gifts of courage and strength to endure the trials.

In looking back, this uplifting artwork was in a Bible lesson notebook at my mother's house. A Christian live-in couple spent months at Mom's providing loving health care for my sweet step-father during his transition from this world.

Years later, while I was living at Mom's, the notebook popped up while I was cleaning out a nightstand drawer.  Curiously, leafing through the collection of artwork, the heavenly scroll,  "Be not anxious for tomorrow" was the angel message I needed.  At the time I was at a major cross-roads in my late thirties. I'd let go of everything society told me I needed to be happy, and with a leap of faith started a new chapter in life by listening within or going without.   For the first time ever, I was navigating through uncharted waters.  For more than twenty years, my work with the federal government was steeped in rules and  regulations. The divine edict. "Be not anxious for tomorrow" made a lasting impression.   God doesn't want us to live in a constant state of anxiety, we serve a loving God and can release all of our burdens and cares to Him in faith knowing our circumstances will be used for good growth.

Throughout the years, those powerful words proved to be true.  "Be not anxious for tomorrow." Adversity would come, but peace would prevail and I grew within under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the angels.  Then twenty years later, at a time when my eyesight was temporarily failing, I was surprised by a sudden image in my mind's eye. The floral victory wreath.  The radiant Hand of God handing down the official document.  "Be not anxious for tomorrow."

A reminder to keep having faith...more is going on than meets the physical eye.

Be not anxious. Rest in the peaceful assurance that the same Spirit of Truth that raised Christ from the dead dwells within you, and will quicken your flesh. All that is needed is a little willingness. The challenge always is to try and lean on our own understanding.  By letting go of anxiety and trusting God, not only will we come up higher, but the world will be blessed with more Light and love.

For He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Psalm 91:11-12

Love and peace,

Rae Karen

Answering the Call: Angel Message

This week while riding about, an intuitive angel nudge suggested an impromptu visit to see our Jerusalem donkey friend at the Orchid Farm.   Turns out the angel guidance was in divine order.  Allahambra was eagerly waiting by the fence as we approached.  Joyfully he answered my call.  Nostrils flared. Ears perked at attention. And, a final head shaking snort as I reached out to pet his soft fuzzy snout.

We've been friends for over six years, but lately his welcome has been low-key.  Polite, but more interested in rooting up tall weeds growing by the fence.  But on this day, a touch of the old Allahambra was back, clearly resounding a cry for love and some extra TLC.

Angel messages are often subtle...a little stirring, an idea comes out of the blue, but it feels right.  If someone crosses your mind today and catches you by surprise, it could be an angel message. A call for love.  A nudge to  reach out and share a little tenderness.  It makes a world of difference to both the giver and the receiver.

Love, joy, and peace,

Rae Karen

A Ladybug Rider: An Angel Message

Early this morning I spotted a special delivery, an early mother's day present.  What joy to find a little red beetle parked on our white car in the driveway.  Ladybugs always remind me of my heavenly mother's love.  And, this one had two distinctive black spots on her shiny red wings.  I took a photo to share with you.  Then later I forgot about our little hitchhiker when we hurried to the lake.  It wasn't until we returned home, I suddenly remembered the ladybug! I'd forgotten to move her to a safe place.   By a ladybug's standards, it must have been quite a trip.   When I took a look, she was still holding on, having moved closer to the gas tank cap.  Mom had a heavy foot, and I laughed. The hearty ladybug had traveled round-trip, home and back again, no worse for wear.

Funny cause I wasn't around when the ladybug flew away, but suddenly I was inspired to give our car a much needed bath.

Ladybug heralds a time of luck and protection in which our wishes begin to be fulfilled.   Her appearance signals new happiness, worries will begin to dissipate.

Our angels speak a language that translates God's Love in joyful and unexpected details. He knows the desires of our heart.   Synchronicity abounds, and we find we are able to rejoice.  More is happening than meets our physical eyes.   Unseen help is as close as our breath.  The whole world can be a communication device for returning our thoughts back home to God's Love.

Today I invite you to open the eyes of your heart and pay close attention to love messages winging into your life.    With so many distractions, often these love "smiles" go undetected, but Love will always make a way.

Love and peace,

Rae Karen

Blowing in the Wind: Angel Message

It was a sudden an unexpected flash of recognition this morning.  I'd just come back from feeding the ducks when I saw an unusual sight silhouetted on the white cotton curtain. Ha! My little E.T. statue, a gift many years ago, was featured in a light show.  His long finger pointed up, a message of love.  Keep thoughts on high.  The sands are shifting here.  Earlier I heard a strong message to rule over my ego today.  Don't let her out.  Stay calm, no matter what.  Stay rooted in the Truth.

On the windowsill by ET, I noticed a forgotten gray stone plaque that added weight to the forecast as I read:

Lord keep your arm around my shoulder
and your hand over my mouth.

I'm so grateful for these unexpected angel hints that try their best to help me pass every test.

Just as a sapling is buffeted about by strong winds, it serves a
purpose as the young tree must grow its roots down deeper into
the ground.

How blessed are we to have celestial help to bolster our strength and give courage to stand rooted in the Divine.  May you pass every test.  The best is yet to be.

Love and peace,

Rae Karen
