Elliot and I were taking an early morning walk before the sun heated up. Passing by the new overflow pond, I spotted our little pair of Whistling Black-Bellied Ducks with their babies! When the photos were uploaded--I counted six little ducklings. The first and last time I saw the family, I counted the brood waddling across the lawn...that was a month ago. I thought the worse...and so that happy sight of the little family afloat brought joyful tears, a reminder God is good all the time.
Last fall that treed area was bulldozed, stream-shoveled....for months and months on end....to create an overflow reservoir for the community. Now beautiful crepe myrtle trees, azalea bushes, and jasmine vines, screen the man-made watering hole. Who knew back then, it would become home to these unusual Whistling Ducks... They don't give a quack, only whistle, expecting the best.
A heads-up for me, to follow suit...to expect the best is yet to be. To walk by faith and not by sight. Give a little whistle...and always let your conscience be your guide.Remember you are never alone, God has given his angels charge over you... He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you shall find refuge. Ps. 91
Love and peace,
