Many years ago, when I came across this iris painting, I loved it right away. Her countenance was free as a lark, with plenty of space around her to create. As I've shared over the years, purple irises are a symbol of God's love for me. When an iris appears on my path, it's like a breadcrumb leading me back home. A sign I'm on the right path.
When we moved here, wall space was limited, and she was too large and ended up in the garage. But everything has its season. This week the angel call to add more color to my life brought the giant purple iris into view above the piano in the living room. Like an old friend, I welcomed her back, and sat on the couch getting reacquainted.
That's when I saw something new and different about her exuberance. She seemed to say, Look at me. I'm no longer longer earth-bound. I have sprouted wings to fly.
I began feeling a sense of her freedom within me. Then a closer look caught me by surprise, like staring at a 5-D photo--it popped out. Maybe my love of birds played on my imagination... Look at her joyful upward long green leaves, shaped like a bird lifting up in the air? Happy as a lark, the green bird had been there all along, waiting until I had eyes to see.
A lovely angel message from an Iris on winging our way on a new adventure...
Love and peace,
Rae Karen
