A Guardian Angel Break

Imagine how much better our day would be by taking time out for an Angel Break. What if we reached out to our Guardian Angel like most people do for a cup of coffee to wake up each morning?

Getting into the routine of gratefully acknowledging our Guardian Angel by taking a quick break of remembrance can make a big difference in our altitude, in our attitude, and in our opportunities. God has assigned His angels to watch over us, so why not befriend the loving unseen being who knows you best? An angel who can help you fulfill your divine purpose.

Try your best to remember your Guardian Angel as you go about your day.  Sitting at a red traffic light,  send a Thank You thought to your beloved unseen companion.

An angel can deliver a sudden burst of intuition shining  light on a troublesome issue. And, we find by listening and obeying, we are at the right place at the right time.  Stumbling blocks are overcome as we keep our thinking on high.  Solutions appear where there seemed to be none.  A way opens up...

When taking an angel break, even if only for a minute, a peaceful state of well-being will gently refresh you with grace and inner strength.  I've found it's most noticeable in my breathing as I relax and let go of the need to be in control.  A soft, gentle lifting of unconditional love will enfold and comfort me.  I'm not alone, but in the "arms" of an Angel, and so are you.  A wonderful way to begin each new day...now more than ever in this wobbly, unstable world of rapid change.  Let there be light!

Love and joyful blessings to you and your Guardian Angel.  The best is yet to be.

For Land Sakes Alive, Pink Periwinkles!

Angel messages often have a way of sneaking up, and when least expected, catch us off-guard in awe of their special delivery. Whatever the case, they usually make a lasting impression, a ray of hope. And in that special moment, we know more is happening than we can presently understand. So keep on believing. The best is yet to be.

Yesterday afternoon's walk in the woods behind our house, a heap of old black tires was a sign of times changing, dumped and forgotten no longer useful.  To prepare for new houses the woods are being cleaned up and cleared for lots. No longer home to wild turkeys, deer, and other animals.  The magical entrance into the woods is gone, without a heart for nature.

Change is the only constant, and one has to accept what is.

The sun was bright and a breeze stirred the spring-like day. I tried to look on the bright side.

Many old trees were still standing.

Then in the midst of a sandy clearing, a sunlit patch of wild pink periwinkles stuck out like a mirage. How had they survived?  It was as if an angel had stooped down from heaven and planted them on the path. A tender note of good cheer. I wasn't sure to let them stay rooted where they were blooming or save the lovely periwinkles from possible upheaval by a bulldozer.

Elliot and I returned with a pot and a shovel on a rescue mission.  The first thrust of the spade hit hard rocky soil, but I slowly dug a circle round the flowering plant. Its roots loosened, and the periwinkles found a new home in our front yard.

Like all major moves, there is a period of adjustment. In the evening, the plant looked sad, with wilted leaves.  I gave it a tall drink of water and hoped for the best.  This morning the lovely periwinkles were back in the pink, greeting the sunshine.

When I read the symbolism of the periwinkles this morning, the message was perfect.   Its essence awakens a renewed sense of coming into new life. It has ties to the energies of love and immortality, and is associated with the Virgin Mother.

And, pink is the color of divine love.

What angel messages are catching you off-guard?

It's wonderful to remember we're always in the company of our guardian angels, and even more wonderful when every now and then we get a surprising glimpse of divine love right on time.

Peace and Joy,

Rae Karen

An Elf Leaped Off the Shelf: An Angel Message

Angels often communicate in playful, fun ways. They know how to brighten our day.   This morning was no exception. While sorting through the many loose Christmas CDs, I was focused, making sure each one went back into its proper plastic case.

Suddenly, I heard a joyful, jingle of a little bell.

I turned around.

Our cute holiday elf had somehow made a surprising leap off the CD storage rack.  The old, tarnished  bell on its stocking cap hadn't stopped it from making a joyful noise.

How did that happen!? I laughed, propping the elf back up.

Soon, more make-shift music filled the air when the manatee wood chimes above me began wildly clanging a Caribbean melody.

Somehow I'd managed to bump my head on its long wooden pulley by the stereo. Since that never happened before, I laughed again, wondering, what was up?

In that special moment, it felt as though the angels of music were trying their best to lift my spirits. The wood-chimes had been a keepsake from a special Christmas Day at Blue Springs, home of the manatees many years ago.

It turns out that loving musical whack on the head, inspired a trip to visit the manatees at Blue Springs. A nice break to take a walk in nature on a winter afternoon.

With all the bells and chimes, more angels were getting their wings. May you feel the joy of music fill your holiday season. It's guaranteed to brighten your mood and spread cheer.

And, remember you are never alone.  You're always in the good company of your loving Guardian Angel.

Love, peace, and joy,

Plugging In: An Angel Message

Angels often speak to us in pictures using symbols to communicate a loving message.  It happened early this morning as I sat on the sofa enjoying the glow of the Christmas tree.  That's when I noticed the bulky electrical cord I had conveniently draped over the angel's wing rather than stoop down later to plug in and out.

In that playful moment, I got the joyful angel message:

Stay plugged into your Guardian Angel, and lighten up.

Many years ago, this LARGE angel had a story to tell. Only one-of-a-kind, dressed in Christmas red and green, she stood alone on a shelf at Lowe's during the holidays. A zsst went through me. A joyful spark.   I was in a dark season. My vision was growing dimmer.

But this special angel,  BIG and BRIGHT, stood out like a beacon. I could see her!  I could clearly see her arms opened wide to embrace me.

The timing was perfect as I was in need of a faith booster; a reminder that I am never truly alone no matter what.  My guardian angel always waits with open arms to love, comfort, protect, and to guide. And, so does yours.

May you feel the peace, comfort, and joy of your Guardian Angel with you today as you plug in to God's Love.  You are never alone, no matter what you may be going through, you are blessed and dearly loved by your Guardian Angel.  The best is yet to be.

Love and peace,

Ibis and Healing Power of Gratitude

A large flock of white ibis are often seen at the lake. Tall-legged waders, these birds have long curved beaks to dig down deep for nourishment.   This one has a leg-up. Ibis, a bird associated with the ancient Egyptian alphabet, has much to say about writing and communication.

During troubling times, the angels encourage us to remember the healing power of a thankful spirit. A good practice is to write down all we have to be grateful for today. If we dig down deep enough, giving thanks for all things, both big and small in good times as well as not-so-good, challenging times, we will learn a powerful truth. The gift of thankfulness brings both relief and release from any resentment or self-pity. It frees up mental and emotional space for healing blessings of love and peace to flow into our lives.  Gratitude is a powerful practice every step of the way, especially as we recall how previous trials made us overcomers, and strengthened our spiritual muscle.

Today add your guardian angel to your gratitude list.  Those wonderful beings of light  who walk beside you along the way.  They will lift you up and keep you from dashing your foot on a stone.  It is good to give thanks for the unseen heavenly help that is always present, even when we are surfing the web, our angel is there watching over and guiding us to be our best.

Love and peace,

Rae Karen

The Value of a Penny: An Angel Message

Yesterday a quick trip to the store involved a timely angelic reminder.  At the check-out, the cash register acted up with the previous customer.  Frustrated, the pony-tailed clerk claimed she was ready to kill the machine. It needed a reboot, and would take awhile, she apologized.

That was okay with me. I had time to look over all the candy selections on display at the counter.  My temptation was cut short though.  To my surprise, our items were suddenly scooped up and carried to self-checkout. My attention (as only angels can do) was drawn down to the helpful sales girl's feet as she scanned the cat treats and toys for Hei-Hei's stocking.   A dusty old penny, barely visible was sticking out from underneath the scanning machine.

When the items were bagged, I told her about the lost penny.  She picked it up, and handed it to me.  "You found it," she said, not thinking it was worth much.

"I want you to have it." I told her.  "A penny is a sign that the angels are near."

Her mood lifted. It has been a stressful day, she confessed. With a grateful smile, she tucked the coin in her pocket; a keepsake. No longer, a dull worthless penny, but a shining symbol of angelic help ever- present.

So that penny you happen to find on the ground is not by chance.  Over the years, I've noticed a penny will turn up just when I need a little spiritual boost the most.  To find a penny is a sign from the angels that everything is in divine order so trust the process. All is well.

I'm always grateful for the loving reminder that we are never alone, but always in the presence of unseen celestial help, guiding and protecting us along the way.  The more you welcome and embrace their presence, the more pronounced their loving expression of love, peace, joy, and harmony will be.

Years ago, a friend shared this uplifting poem on the value of a penny, and the presence of our guardian angel.

Incredible

I found a penny today
Just laying on the ground,
But it's not just a penny
This little coin I found.
That's what my Grandma told me,
She said, Angels toss them down.
Oh, how I loved that story.
She said, when an Angel misses you
They toss a penny down,
Sometimes just to cheer you up
To make a smile out of your frown
So don't pass by that penny
When you are feeling blue;
It may be a penny from heaven
That your guardian angel tossed to you.

Abiding in the Shadow: An Angel Message

Last evening, while out on the patio, enjoying the beautiful sunset, my attention was drawn to an encouraging reminder of unseen celestial help offered to each of us.

Standing tall by the back door, in the evening sunlight, the prayer angel had cast a perfect shadow on the wall.   A reminder to me that when we abide in the Shadow of the Almighty, angels watch over us.  While taking the photo to share with you, I noticed another uplifting message of transformation.  The BELIEVE garden butterfly beside her.

Have a joyful day with the Angels.

Draw Back the Curtain: An Angel Message

Yesterday an afternoon cloud burst opened up the sky with a sudden downpour.  The curtains on the porch were closed to keep out the hot sun when I thought I heard the onset of a gush of heavy rain drops.  Every day this summer has brought relief.  I'm so thankful that the grass, trees and flowers are at their best without any help from me and my hose.

Later when the sun was breaking through the blue sky again, I opened the white porch curtains to take a look.  What timing!  As I looked up, what should be looking down at me?  Perched on a high wire by the house, a young red tailed hawk met my surprised gaze.  His feathers were soaked from the rain, so much so, at first glance I thought he was a fuzzy headed owl.  But a closer look, with my phone camera, revealed one of my favorite nature messengers.  A juvenile red hawk.  "Hawk medicine teaches you to be observant ...Life is sending you signals."*

Early this morning, 7/11. more synchronicity was at play.  I opened the daily inspiration  for July 11 (7/11) from God Calling by Two Listeners  (edited by A.J. Russell.)

What a surprise that the subject title for today is Guardian Angels!

"You are Mine.  Once I have set on you My stamp and seal of ownership all my Hosts throng to serve and protect you.

Remember that you are daughters of a King.

Try to picture a bodyguard of My servitors in the Unseen waiting, longing, efficient, to do all that is necessary for your well-being.

Feel this as you go through the day.  Feel this and all is well."

The timing brought a smile, that again, more is happening than I can presently understand. I am grateful for the confirmation of silently acknowledging the guardian angel of all those who cross my path.  Not that I always remember, but the more I do it, the easier it becomes.

Enjoy your day with your Guardian Angel!

Love and joyful blessings,

Rae Karen

Your Guardian Angel

"I am with you always."  These are the comforting words on this guardian angel base where she sets up camp.   On bended knee, our faithful loving companion does not take her heavenly assignment lightly.  She is diligent for keeping our channel open to receive higher guidance.

Her heartfelt prayer is to help celebrate your life and share the gift of "you" with the world.

Enjoy your day with your Guardian Angel, and listen for her gentle whispers.  You'll be amazed what can happen when you really tune in.

Love and joyful blessings,

The Role of A Guardian Angel for Children

In this troubled world we need all the help we can get and it is freely given by God.  When I was growing up, I wish I had been told about a guardian angel assigned to watch over me.  In Sunday school I learned about Jesus, but didn't understand that he was a real living Presence in my life.  I thought he was watching over me long distance from the right hand of the Father.

In the Bible, Jesus speaks about children and the role of a Guardian Angel.

"Take heed that ye despise not one of those little ones, for I say unto you, that in heaven their angels behold the face of my Father which is in heaven."                               --Matthew 18:10

Here's a  list of angel books John Ronner recommended for children in his book The Angel Calendar Book.

The Red Shoes by Hans Christian Andersen
The Angel Who Forgot by Elsa Bartone (Simon & Schuster)
The Alabama Angels by Mary Barwick (Ballantine Books, 1993)
Angels Get No Respect by Cecile Bauer (Magnificat Press)
The Christmas Angel by Abbie Farwell Brown.
The Tiny Angel by Elizabeth Koda-Calan (Workman Publishing, NY)
Ladder of the Angels. Stories from the Bible by Madeleine L'Engle (Harper and Row, 1979)
Marcelia's Guardian Angel by Evaline Ness
Angel of God by Piera Paltron (St. Paul Books, Massachusetts)

Enjoy your day with the Angels and celebrate your life.

Love and joyful blessings,

Rae Karen

Angels in Every Moment

Logic defies anything that can not be experienced by the five senses.  That's one reason people have a hard time believing in angels; but the proof, as they say, is in the pudding.  I didn't always believe in  angels--it seemed rather silly to embrace their loving presence as part of my everyday reality. Didn't they have more important work to do? But, in the midst of challenges, with a little willingness, I cracked open the door to that wonderful possibility.  To my delight, synchronicity joyfully bounced into my days, helping me to deal with obstacles so I could take the next step up. The work had everything to do with overcoming my own little self!  The effort was healing as I slowly began to change and it continues as I am a work in progress, but with more peace and joy most days.

A dear friend was sharing a revelation he had many years ago.  Alone and in pain in the middle of the night, he got up and sat on the porch.  Rocking back and forth an angel message came to mind as he sat on his rocker: You are not alone.  In that healing moment, his body relaxed in that truth. He was not alone and never could be. A peacefulness came over him. Comforted by that healing promise, he returned to bed pain-free.

Angels are like that...they know exactly what we need to hear and when.  Their timing is precision-like. Their love infallible.  They long to fill our lives with all the goodness of God. So why not invite them in?

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Love and joyful blessings,

Rae Karen

Angels Watching Over You...

Life is often like a game of chess...planning strategies...based on an upcoming move...waiting and pondering different  options that may open up.  All the while, unseen angelic help stand at the door of our consciousness, waiting for an opportunity to enter our mind and help us make wise choices that will result in our highest good as well as those around us.

Whatever you're facing today, your loving guardian angel is waiting and watching to help you make your next move, if you ask.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Blessings,

Karen

Duties to Our Guardian Angel

1)  Always remember that you are in the presence of your Guardian Angel.  In whatever place you may be, in whatever secret recess you may hide, think of your Guardian Angel.  Never do in the presence of your Guardian Angel what you wouldn't do before the Lord.

2)  Refrain from using every word or gesture, or taking any action that would displease or grieve your heavenly companion.

3)  Keep your thoughts at a higher altitude.

4) Call for his/her help to overcome temptation, for protection, for guidance, and for all necessities.

5)  Remember to express the most profound gratitude for the countless blessings he/she provides.

We are so blessed to be aware of the presence of these divine messengers.

Have a joyful day,

Karen

More on Guardian Angels

I found a neat little booklet on guardian angels at our Lady of LaLeche bookstore. I liked what it had to say about not only practicing a tender devotion to our own Guardian Angel, but to practice acknowledging the Guardian Angels of others. When we meet people we should at the same time we greet them, also lovingly silently salute their Guardian Angel.

Also when we enter a church or any other place where numbers of persons are gathered, it is good to remember to salute all the Guardian Angels present. When we walk the crowded streets of a city or town, let us silently or inwardly contemplate the Angels who accompany all in our presence. It's a wonderful transformation when I can remember to do this.

I've been practicing on our trip by thanking the Guardian Angel of each town or city we pass through. Now I am giving thanks to the Guardian Angel of Deland. It is comforting to know that wherever we go our angelic partnership is never interrupted. Our own Guardian Angel is with us through all our experiences.

May you day be filled with the joy of the Angels.
Blessings,

Karen

The Guardian Angel and the Frog

I've often written about the acronym for FROG. It was in a newsletter several years ago.

"I was told a story about a lady in the hospital who was near death when an area chaplain came to visit her. This chaplain was a very young female with long blond hair. She listened to the lady who was ill and left her a small gift for comfort. It was a tiny ceramic frog.

The next day one of the people from the lady's church came to visit. The lady told her friend about the beautiful young chaplain who had come to visit her. The friend was so impressed with the way the lady had improved and felt the need to talk to the young chaplain. In her search to find the young girl, she was repeatedly reassured that the chaplains are never very young and there was never a young girl that fit the description.

Upon returning to the lady in the hospital, a visiting nurse entered the room and noticed the ceramic frog. The nurse made the comment, "I see you have a guardian angel with you." As she held the little frog we asked why she made the comment and were told that frog stands for
(F)ully (R)ely (O)n (G)od."

Enjoy your day with the Angels,

Karen
