The Angel of Depth

Dear Friends,

I hope you are able to find peace in your circumstances by going within and listening to your inner being.  Living fully in each moment in gratitude is a way to overcome any fear.  One day at a time, enjoying the simple things that come your way, for at our core being we are eternal.

Life as we know it shifted abruptly, leaving us all to cope in isolation without the external distractions.  It's as though we are having a time-out to re-evaluate our priorities.  The angels guide to use this time in stillness and contemplation for good spiritual growth. Be an outpouring of peace and love by keeping your prayers and consciousness on high by going deeper.

During our recent move, a loose angel card fell out of a moving box. 

It was the Angel of Depth.

The last thing I wanted to do was to go deep.  There was so much to do with the move, so I just set her aside.   Of course, she surfaced quickly in our new home. 

This morning, I began to see an angel blog taking shape. 

Earlier this week, I had unpacked the photo of a humpback breaching, called Back flip and propped  it up on the counter by the kitchen sink, without any conscious thought. But when the Angel of Depth resurfaced here, my attention was drawn to the powerful whale and how she swims deep in the sea of consciousness, singing her own song of Oneness, but can make a dynamic leap into the light when the time is right.

So for today, I'm going to swim deep, stay mindful in prayer and meditation, and not get caught up in the tide of human emotion.  God's Love fills all space and is forever.  There is nothing to fear...

I'll close with a good chuckle.  Without the washer and dryer installed as yet, our towel supply is low. Last night inspiration came to get out my long forgotten straw beach bag.  I pulled out a big blue towel.  After bathing at bedtime,  I thoughtlessly hung it over the towel rack.

Early this morning a touch of fear was trying to creep in.  I walked into the bathroom, and was caught by surprise.  Without any thought, I'd hung the towel in such a way as to display a large happy ANGEL FISH.   I'd only used the towel once or twice, and forgot all about the powerful image.

I felt a slight rush of angelic humor.

It may seem like a little thing, but in that instant I could see how I am more conscious than I realize, doing things without thinking, that will ultimately bring me a surprising message of joy and peace.  An angelfish!  Imagine that!  As you know from previous blogs, fish symbolism has been playing a big role in having more faith in the unseen. 

Curious, I looked up the symbolism on-line. 

Angelfish signifies that you should be brave and courageous enough to face all kinds of situations that reveal themselves in life... by navigating smoothly through the various currents in the ocean of life with the help of your intuition and imagination."

 And, most of all, our loving guardian angels.

I love the reminders that we are never alone.  Please draw close to God and His angels today.  It will make a world of difference.

Friends through Thick and Thin: An Angel Message

Timing was good this morning as Elliot and I left the house.  Down the rural road, the postman had parked and was sorting mail in his truck. 

With a handful of postcards, I crossed the road to greet him.  For a minute, it felt as though I had traveled back in time as I caught sight of a gathering of cows laying down in the pasture, resting in the shadow of the trees.  Several large bovines had teamed up with little white cowbirds, who like sentinels, stood by to keep the pests away.  An angel message to work together in love to watch over and protect each other today.

Angels are God's thoughts winging their way into our consciousness, helping us to find peace and happiness in the midst of turmoil.  What a comfort to know that we can never truly be separated from the love of God, no matter what.

The angels encourage us to reach out and bless someone today, in prayer, thought, or deed.

A Leap: An Angel Message

You have been in our thoughts and prayers during this time of unprecedented transformation.  Elliot and I moved to Lake Helen on March 17th, a favorite little town we loved to visit weekly and picnic by the lake.  Through angel guidance earlier this month, an amazing opportunity presented itself out of the blue, so we took a leap eight miles down the road to a lovely place in nature.  Cows, horses,-- an abundance of wildlife is here.  

The first morning, what a delightful surprise when our friendly neighbors came by.  More than a half-dozen wild turkeys were gobbling and grazing in the field next door.  Tom Turkey stopped long enough for me to grab my phone in time to catch him fanning his tail feathers!  I love it!  Turkey represents thanksgiving and abundance, and so I was grateful for this unusual treat.  With no internet service at the time, nature's email showed up daily, parading by our sun room window.

The babies shown here blend in with well with the grasses, and are camouflaged, those little golden brown fuzzy birds.  A message of new birth, so hang on, and expect the best.

 Psalm 91 is a powerful prayer of protection, so claim what it says, and stay strong.  Love is greater than fear.  And during this time of global transformation, how blessed to be in the presence of unseen heavenly hosts.  The contagion is fear, not the virus...so trust in God and keep having faith that more is going on than meets the eye.  Perfect love casts out fear.

And, a final touch from nature lumbered across the lawn on Saturday morning.  A large turtle, a message to slow down, be patient, and remember who won the race.  Divine Love is the victor.

 
Slowly Elliot and I are getting settled.  With no gas for the stove as yet, I've been cooking oatmeal in the electric rice maker.  Works better than on the stove!   And my old electric wok is cooking up lots of fresh veggies, served with rice.   Angel thoughts pop in on how to eke by until the service is turned on...so it all is workable, day by day.

That's where I keep my focus, one day at a time in gratitude.  So thankful that you are here and blessed by God and His angels as we work together to hold the Light of Truth during this global transformation.

Wake up, Alice! An Angel Message

Earlier this week, Elliot and I stopped by Sunflower Park for a photo of the pocket watch from Alice in Wonderland.

Angel thoughts can appear as a recurring theme on your path, in amazing and creative ways that make you stop and wonder, what is going on?  An infinite  life force is always conspiring on our behalf that goes far beyond our five senses.

Nine years ago, Alice in Wonderland  symbolism played a hand when our life was about to move in a new direction.

Out of the blue, characters from Lewis Carroll's adventure popped up in unlikely places, that grabbed our attention. 

On a return road trip home early one morning, the drive-thru was backed up at our local McDonald's--a place we passed by often but never went inside.  Not in the mood to go home and make oatmeal, we had decided to grab an egg muffin breakfast on the run. When we sleepily stepped inside the golden arches, what a wake-up surprise.  Alice in Wonderland was featured in a big way.  The motif included the inner workings of a giant  clock, with large hands ticking away on the ceiling.   The late harried rabbit was featured on a pedestal encased in glass.  Time was the center piece, the daily grind.

Then in 2011, on a winter trip to Florida, the angels guided us to Sunflower Park in the heart of downtown DeLand.  To our surprise, a giant pocket watch with a plaque was a permanent display in the quaint little park. "I'm late.  I'm late for a very important date."   His admonition always brought me a touch of guilt--like I'd forgotten an important meeting.

That winter while house-hunting to see what may be available, in one place, Alice and Wonderland was  featured on the back splash tiles above a kitchen sink.  Not that the house was a right fit, but something was up. 

Back in Virginia, the rabbit hole adventure continued to play out.  At the public library, I ran in to run our books, on the way out, I grabbed a magazine off the free rack.  The cover had this painting of the Pentecost and a featured article, "You Will Receive the Power."

 On the ride home, I wondered why I'd grabbed a Catholic magazine, but to my surprise another article, BELIEVE IN THE IMPOSSIBLE, referred to Alice in Wonderland. The synchronicity, the language of angels, brought a smile as I read:

"At one point in the story, Alice says: "There's no use trying, one can't believe impossible things." But the Queen disagrees, saying: "Sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast." The article went on to say that it is the Holy Spirit who helps us to grasp and believe truths that are impossible for us to accept on the basis of logic alone.

I knew this was true whenever  I had stopped and asked the Holy Spirit to judge things for me because I don't truly know the meaning of anything.  Time and again, this yielding would bring peace and the bigger picture would be revealed in such a way as not to put me in greater fear.

With all the Wonderland clues, we watched the Disney movie.  The ending stood out in particular. Young Alice is tired of the magic of Wonderland, and wants to go back home. The angry Queen of Hearts and her army of playing cards are coming after Alice.

 Her only hope is to make it to the door up ahead.

Alice frantically grabs the knob and turns it hard, but the door is locked!

 "I must go home!"  Alice cries, fearful that she is doomed.

To her surprise, the doorknob speaks,  "But, you are already home."  He tells her.

Doubtful, Alice looks through the keyhole.

To her amazement, it's true!  There she is asleep in the shade of the old tree!

Alice knows what she must do!  Shouting through the keyhole, she tries to awaken her sleeping self. "ALICE! WAKE UP!"

The card soldiers are gaining ground. 

"ALICE! WAKE UP!"  Again she shouts.

In the next scene, Alice opens her eyes and finds herself in a safe place that she never left, except in her dream.  The trip down the rabbit hole to Wonderland wasn't real, it was only a dream.

I like that imagery.  Whatever fears may be chasing me down, I must see them as an opportunity to wake up to the truth about me.  The Holy Spirit is the answer to the dream of separation from our loving Creator.  He will help you to awaken and have a happy dream.

"Let me see this differently."

The Dance of Life: An Angel Message

Yesterday, while exploring a new area in nature, Elliot and I met up with a rare and happy sight.  A  joyful sign of new birth.  A favorite bird couple, the red-headed, long-legged sandhill crane appeared with their little fuzzy chicks, only a few days old.  

Sandhills are usually protective of their newborn, and so it was a treat to see the little tots abide in their father's shadow. 

Their unlikely appearance on our path seemed significant.  I learned something interesting.  Cranes are well known for their mating dance.  The two birds face each other, coil, and then vertically spring up with an exuberant leap sometimes higher than 15-feet.  With their red heads held high, in mid-air, they flap their wide wings four or five times before coming back down. This giant ballerina leap is the heart of the crane dancing.  Such enthusiasm is contagious, and other cranes may join in the dance of spring.  

When a crane appears, it is usually a time for us to come out and live, join in the dance of life.  Life is meant to be danced and celebrated, not feared.  "Secret and noble guardianship surrounds you and your activities now."

Make No Bones About It! - An Angel Message

It's funny how an angel message can wing its way into your awareness in a very unusual and amusing way.  Elliot and I knew something was up while recently vacationing at the beach.  We like to begin each day by reading aloud a chapter from the Bible.  While I was reading Acts 13,  Elliot saw a flock of seagulls soar close to our 3rd floor balcony.  He heard a distinct CLUNK.  Later we found a special delivery outside our slider door.   A chicken bone!

Curious about the meaning, I learned on-line, that a chicken bone is a sign that something good is going to happen for sure.  That was good news.   

As I was writing in my journal about the unusual seagull delivery, "Make no bones about it," came to mind.   Again, I looked to the web for clarity.  "To make no bones about it is to say clearly what you think or feel about something, however unpleasant or awkward.  To say something in a way that leaves no doubt or to have no objection to it."

Seagulls represent "responsible behavior and communication."  They have an intricate code of behavior, and have developed a regular signal for all of their ritual activities.  They use a combo of calls and gestures.  The appearance of a gull may indicate lessons or abilities in proper behavior, courtesy, and communication.  It may reflect that you need the lessons or that you may become a teacher of such.  It may also reflect new learning in the subtleties of communication. 

Writing the angel blog just now, the message of the seagull and chicken bone became clear.  Don't chicken out, but speak courteously and clearly what you mean to say.  Let your yay be yay.  And, your nay be nay.

I'm so thankful for these angel messages that come at just the right time.  What are the angels trying to convey to you today?  It's fun to stay open to receive.  

Make no bones about it.  :-D  The angels are real and ready to help and guide our way to upward thought, to communication with God.

The Grass is Always Greener: An Angel Message

On the last visit to the E.F.G. Orchid Farm, I finally met up with the family's heavyweight pet pig who freely roams the property, eating to her heart's content!   In all the years Elliot and I have been visiting the beautiful orchid farm, with its coi filled lily pond, and beautifully landscaped property, I had yet to meet the prized resident. 

As a child, mom had a large pet pig, she named Susanna. As you can see, that sweet old pig wouldn't let anything interfere with grunting down for chow, not even Kitty the cat who wanted a piggyback ride on the farm.

This month at the Orchid Farm, I was approaching another unlikely pair to break up a food scuffle.  They were going nose-to-nose over a clump of green grass growing by the fence.  I called out,  Now you two be nice and share. There is enough for all.  Both animals stopped and gave me a look that seemed to say, Who made you the boss? 

Later while working on the angel blog,  I looked at their photo and the contrast in their lifestyles, an old adage came to me:  The grass is always greener on the other side. 

It means that the things other people have or their situations always look better than your own, even when they are not really so.

For fun, I looked up the spiritual symbolism for pig.  Having a fattened pig is a bringer of good luck and symbolizes prosperity, wealth, and abundance.  Another message the pig brings, if it shows up in your life, is to take time to examine your masculine and feminine energies, and become aware of your piggish nature.  A normal trait for humans, but the inner work is to curb our whole hog voracious appetites and become more balanced in our willingness to give and take.

Donkey fulfills the role of beast of burden by taking the responsibility and burden of others.  A donkey is also symbolic of determination, dedication to work, versatility, and will power.  When a donkey appears on your path, it may be a sign to ignore the uproar around you and instead focus on what goes on deep within.  This allows you to ground yourself, and assess the plans and decisions you need to take in life.  Follow your instincts.

The angels remind us that no matter where we find ourselves, it is a perfect place to learn our soul lessons.  The problem is never the problem, it is the attitude or reaction toward the problem that is the problem.  And expect good and happy things to come to you today.

Stay on the Roof: An Angel Message

On an early morning run to send out postcards, before returning home from the mailbox, an angel message popped up.  "Go see the peacocks." 

All was quiet as Elliot and I came up the drive at the rehabilitation center.  Not a peacock was in sight as our eyes scanned the grass, bushes and trees for a glimpse of our favorite birds.  It seemed like a misguided angel message, until I happened to look up. 

Guidance was good!  There on the rooftop of a building was a beautiful sight.  A lone peacock stood like a sentinel in the sunlight.  

 Peacocks are often symbols of watchfulness because of their feathery eyed plumage, and also represent the Christ and resurrection energy.  

Smiling, I got the message. Stay on the roof, and don't come down to entertain lower thoughts of fear or doubt that knock on your door.  House is a metaphor for consciousness, and often I'm reminded to stay up on the roof, (higher consciousness).     

The lone peacock watching on the roof top of a new day was a heartwarming message. 

Sunlight shining on my viewfinder made it hard to see how the zoom was doing.  His timing was good though as I managed to get a few pics before he moved  on, across the shingled roof.  I was thankful for the glorious image that stayed with me. 

Today I'll try to be more vigilant for watching on-high, and not be fooled into coming down from the roof to entertain any fear thoughts that try to gain entry. 

The angels are here to guide us.   Their hopeful message is to keep having faith and trust in God.  More is going on than meets the human five senses. All is well.  Infinite Love conquers all.

Watchful Post: An Angel Message

An angel thought popped in last week while heading for a particular destination.  Take a detour to check out the peacocks at the rehab center.  

So Elliot and I did.  

Turns out it was good advice.  

To my delight, a lone peacock had posed by the entrance to the building.  His beautiful  train had grown back in its full regalia.  Finding him waiting on the wall seemed like a perfect setup.  And at first glance, I thought it was too good to be true.  What a surprise when he cocked his royal blue head and a sound like a car horn blared.  A bugle call, of sorts, and perhaps a good reminder to be watchful of our words and actions more than ever.  There are no idle thoughts so focus on peace and goodwill in the midst of chaos.  The angels, God's messengers, are here to help us evolve if we stay open and believe.

Ladybug Valentine: An Angel Message

A sweet, unexpected valentine winged its way to brighten my day.  While standing in line at the checkout at Walgreen's, I noticed a little soft ladybug toy sitting alone on the counter. One-of-a-kind, it seemed oddly out of place.  The little love bug seemed too good to be true.  It felt like my mother's loving hand was reaching through the veil.  I asked the cashier if it was for sale.  He nodded and said with a smile, "Today is a good day for ladybugs.  Isn't there an old saying about when a ladybug lands on your shoulder it's the touch of a loved one?"

I nodded, amazed at this confirmation.  I wanted to share more, but the line was long, people were waiting.  On the way to the car, I read the little ladybug's name on the red heart-shaped tag.  Trixy!  Her birthday is October 13th. 

Happy Valentine's Day to you all.  It's so comforting to know that LOVE never dies, and our loved ones are watching over us always.

Another Fish Tale: An Angel Message

I caught a fish THIS BIG!

Something fishy is going on...in a good way!  On Wednesday afternoon, at the St. Augustine Inlet standing by the waters' edge near the Great Cross, Elliot and I did a double take!   

I kid you not!  A Great Cormorant popped up out of the water!  He had caught a large silvery fish in his beak. In amazement, we watched him swallow it whole and then dive down again.  The timing was uncanny as this was the second time we had ever seen a cormorant catch a fish.  The first had been earlier this week.   (See Feb. 4, 2020 Cormorant blog for symbolism.)

Something was up. 

A recurring angel message was emerging to make sure we got it!

Such joy rushed through us..  More is going on than meets the eye.  You must be willing to go deeper within and then surface to share your creative endeavors.

The fish must have been plenty because what happened next was even more surprising!  Suddenly the smooth waters swelled from a submerged stirring.  Up came a  bottle nose dolphin near where we stood.  Rarely do we see the dolphin in the Inlet. My heart leaped again at the timing as I found myself clapping and cheering.

Later, I looked down by my feet and picked up this trash rapper. 

 "We all live downstream."  I laughed, at the synchronicity.  Water is the theme of the day.  Not sure what it meant, I learned that whatever happens upstream flows downstream and effects the whole.

A Bouquet of Doves: An Angel Message

Years ago, a dear friend shared a constructive way she would pray instead of worry.  Edra had a dove pattern she had made out of paper.   With scissors in hand, she would create doves as she prayed for her loved ones.

By the time she had finished creating the doves, not only did she have peace of mind, but now a flock of heavenly messengers was winging its way bringing peace and love to the situation at hand.     

I liked that thought.  Imagine sending prayerful bouquets of white peace doves out into this world.  Send them to whatever or whoever is troubling your heart.  Harmony is the law.   God is Love.  Now is the only time. 

Sending you a bouquet of doves.  May your hearts be flowing with the peace beyond human understanding today and always.
