Too Good to be True: Angel Message

If I hadn't gone to mail a long-overdue letter to a friend in Japan, the answer to prayer concerning a special loved one would have been delayed.  Yesterday's after-dinner errand to the post office revealed a wonderful dessert at the lake.  An answer to a prayer.

After mailing the letter, Elliot and I parked beneath the old cypress tree, feeling the peace and serenity of the still waters.  Then suddenly a large silver fish leapt out of the water and made a joyful splash.  That's when I caught sight of a lone duck paddling from the outer banks.

The ducks haven't been on our side of the lake, and so I wondered if this one could be Gray Baby.  I'd been wondering about him?  And this one appeared to be a Muscovy. It seemed too good to be true.

Divine timing was in the works as I watched his head rock back and forth, paddling our way in the still of the evening. Slow and deliberate he graced the waters.  When he got closer and paddled through the watery reeds, I saw those familiar gray feathers. He's one of a kind. But it wasn't until he emerged from the lake, I could see Gray Baby was safe. My only regret was not having a kernel of cracked corn to celebrate our reunion. Not wanting to make a fuss, I watched him happily waddle away. I could see he was as plump as ever. God is in the details.

Although the back of his head had a red patch of skin from constant pecking. A reminder that sometimes time spent alone in a safe sanctuary can be healing and necessary.

All ducks have a grace upon water, and remind us to handle our own emotions with greater grace and comfort.  Ducks teach us how to maneuver through various waters of life. They wisely return to wherever they feel safe and comfortable.  And, we too can return to those parts of ourselves or those activities that we feel safe and comfortable in. Ducks demonstrate how to drink of the waters of life as well as how to nurture our own emotional natures.

I was thankful for the angel nudge to stop by the lake.  It came at the right time at the right place for a special delivery.  An answer to a prayer.  Ask and you shall receive... a comforting reminder that Divine Love will always make a way.

Love and peace,

Rae Karen
