Groceries and The Sheriff of Nottingham: An Angel Message

Postcard from Germany that arrived yesterday.

I'm beginning to see more as I listen to angel guidance (pure thoughts of inspiration). Yesterday, somewhat dreading a trip to the grocery store, an angel thought shifted my perspective. You are going there to help, to share love, not just buy food. I was going there to give, not just take.  With that uplifting idea, Elliot and I entered the store, welcoming the angels of Publix.

Hungry for cornbread, I made my way to the deli where soups and breads are found.  An elderly woman on a scooter was in front of me.  I noticed her right away.  An angel thought whispered that she needed help. She asked the clerk for directions and scooted away.  An overwhelming urge made me want to take off and follow her, but I held back. I can be overbearing at times, I told myself.  We proceeded with shopping and soon had marked the items off our list.

Wheeling the cart to the check-out, a thought came out of the blue. I was suddenly hungry for an item in the frozen foods.

Making a bee-line for that aisle, what a surprise to find my scooter friend parked, looking through the glass refrigeration unit at the frozen pizzas.

"Can you help me?  I want a super deluxe," she smiled.

I could have kicked myself for not listening when I first got the signal.  "Thank you." She smiled as I handed her the box. "You know, I had my birthday a few days ago." Sparkling eyes asked,  "How old do you think I am?"

Not good with ages, I let Elliot answer.

He leaned forward.  "84".

She beamed, "I'm 91!"

"91!"  We both agreed she was beautiful.

I noticed her large silver elephant pendant on a long chain.  "It's not because I'm a Republican," she laughed.  "It's to cover up the spots on my top."

I could tell she was hungry for conversation as she talked about her travel days. A special memory of the time she met the Sheriff of Nottingham.  Time seemed to stand still as she relived that scene among the frozen foods.  It happened long ago when she took 100 students to England for a month. The Sheriff of Nottingham was tall, single, and very handsome.  He had invited her on a private tour.  She called her husband back in the states.  "I just want you to know that I've been invited on a private tour with the Sheriff of Nottingham. He's tall, single, and handsome.  It will just be the two of us.  Can I go?"

"By all means, he said,  "if my wife is interested in another man, I want to be the first to know!"  She laughed, saying what a gift her husband had been.   He had passed on 25 years ago.

She was so full of life, wanting to write editorials again.  Blocking the freezer lane, it was time to move on.   Before parting, we learned she lives in our neighborhood.

We introduced ourselves.  "I'm Hazel, like the nut!"  She laughed, so we wouldn't forget her. "Please come see me."

So an ordinary visit to the store, turned out to be a memorable adventure.  The Sheriff of Nottingham carried me back to the legend of Robin Hood.  It was his job to capture outlaws such as Robin Hood, and to protect the trade routes through Sherwood Forest. I was so thankful for the angel demonstration. A reminder not to hesitate when guidance comes. Wherever you go, the scene is already set, just waiting for you to step out on stage. Don't let your ego rob you of the bread of life, the adventure gained when you answer the call to love.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Help in Handling Old Fears: An Angel Message

Yesterday while washing the breakfast dishes, I happened to see an unusual, yet welcomed sight.  A little beige lizard had quietly made an appearance.  He scuttled across the counter top, behind the faucet, and paused on the stainless steel ledge, waiting.

The miracle -- I wasn't afraid!

"Oh, are you ready to go out?" I calmly asked him.  I had been offering a  safe passage ever since he arrived in a potted plant escaping an upcoming freeze.  From time to time, he would appear in the den, but ran away when I tried to help him.

It may seem rather strange, but I got a sense he was giving me a chance.  He had come to me.  He was ready to go, tired of playing the waiting game.  I folded a paper towel and placed it near his tiny feet, but he wasn't willing.  He even patiently waited while I got my garden gloves from the laundry room.

With everything I had, I wanted to reach down and gently pick him up.  But I couldn't...  I just couldn't...

Not wanting this little rascal to disappear inside a cabinet, I called to Elliot.  Within a few seconds, the lizard scurried inside a bag and was outside ready to bask in the sunshine on a warm rock. We thanked him for being a messenger. The lizard represents dreaming. The shadow side of so-called reality where  dreams are reviewed before you decide to manifest them in the physical realm.  Our fears, hopes, or whatever we are resisting, is that "shadow" that follows us wherever we go.

I thought about the message of the lizard.  A sign to let go of old fears.  I've come a long way, but there is always room for more growth.  Progress is the key.  At least I no longer scream and run. A little more patience is needed with myself as I, too, let go of old fears.  The angels are here with strong counsel, Fear not.

The Grace Awakening Prayer: An Angel Message

Many years ago during a time of major transformation, a healing prayer came to me.  I had left behind all that I knew:  my home, family, friends, career, and moved to another state to work on an angel documentary.  A new chapter in life.  It was one of those opportunities that you know is meant for you.   There were many challenges-- learning a new profession, how to get around a new city, sharing living space, and most of all redefining who I thought I was.

A new friend I met on the spiritual path gave me a healing tool.  Audio tapes on Grace Awakening. Mary said that listening to them would bring up anything unlike Christ consciousness.  Hidden patterns of guilt, anger, fear would be revealed to be healed. She had listened to the tapes and prayed the Grace Prayer daily.  It had helped her so much that she passed them on to me.  I'll admit the first time I tuned in, it didn't seem a fit, so I set them aside.

When another issue arose, Mary asked me if I was praying The Grace Prayer.

I admitted that I wasn't.

Not ready for more purification, I dismissed it. The following day I had wanted to mow the tall grass from all the heavy rains. A new client was coming for healing work. I wanted the yard to look its best.  Earlier that week, the mower wouldn't start. But now, my ego was determined.  I did a Reiki symbol over the lawn mower.  Then started it up.

The engine sputtered, but I got a large section done before it conked out. Like a tease, it would start  up, but when the throttle opened all the way, it quit. With more gas, I made progress, but it died again with only half of the lawn done.

Frustration kicked in.  "Did I miss the timetable here?" I asked God.  "Was I supposed to move out when my room mates did? The sun room roof leaks. The dishwasher is broken. And, now I can't even mow this big yard. Is it asking too much to get one thing done?  I'm trying to do Thy will."

I was so frustrated and determined. My intent was 100 percent to mow the yard.

An inner knowing said, “Let it go. What does it matter?”

"Okay. I turn it over to you," I said, retreating to the house.

The Grace Awakening audio tapes were on the dining room table. I was guided to listen.  I went outside, stretched out on the grass and looked up at the tall pines as I heard  Diadra Price, the author of Grace Awakening, talk about her experience with The Grace Prayer. She had prayed it everyday for a year and had cried each day. The prayer was more powerful than therapy, she said. Many people also shared that after a few months of praying it, their lives changed dramatically for the better.

After listening to several tapes, I read the Grace Prayer aloud. Feeling lighter, I thought, "Now, maybe I can mow the yard."

When I started the mower, it sputtered in low gear, then with a great push of energy, expended by my frustration, I opened her up all the way. With God's grace, the yard was mowed. And, I had learned a prayer for healing.

I began each day with this prayer. It wasn't long before I began to feel the healing effects.  Weeping at times without knowing why, old buried wounds were being healed. Afterwards I thought it should come with a warning. Don’t pray it unless you are ready to release your old stuff.  The prayer is also effective without the tapes. It may be time for me to start praying it again.

The Grace Prayer

For Thee I Thirst.
Into Thy hands I commit my Spirit,
(My Soul, my body, my life, etc.)

Thy Will is my Will
Thy Will be done through me now!
Heal me at depth.

Reveal that which needs to be revealed.
Heal that which needs to be healed.

That I may glorify You, God,
And live in the Consciousness of Grace.

It is finished!

The Crane Stance: An Angel Message

I brake for yard sales as most of you know.  A few weekends ago, while out on a country drive, an estate sale caught my eye.  Elliot patiently waited in the car while I ran inside to fish.  The owner had made her transition and her niece told me the house had sold in two days, everything had to go.  I didn't see anything of personal interest.  Until I walked into an empty room and saw this large painting of a crane standing on one leg. I loved it.  A $15 bargain, it now has a new pond over the bookcase in my little writing den.

Last week before all the Congressional turmoil, I woke up in the middle of the night.  Get up! I heard.
At 2:30 a.m.!? There did appear to be a disturbance in the ethers.

The urge was so strong that I popped out of bed.

As I came into the den, I could feel my mother's loving presence.  I sat down on the love seat and looked at the family photos on the table beside me.  After meditation, a peacefulness settled over the room.  When I looked up, to my surprise, the crane painting was askew on the wall. A heavy piece, I wondered what could have rocked it? And why didn't I notice it when I first came into the den?

The message reminded me of a blue heron that had crossed my path many years ago.  He, too, stood on one leg, overlooking the lake from atop a covered bridge.  At that time, I took it as a sign to move while you still have a leg to stand on.  Before long, we did migrate to a different city.

Yesterday, again, more crane energy happened our way when this pair of sandhill cranes were hanging out by the lake.  Taking a pic, I could see one standing on one leg!

A refresher on the symbolism of a crane revealed it represents concentration and initiation.  Seek for answers with your heart not with your head as you face a task to be solved.  Concentrate on "Who am I?"  Let go of everything you think you know in your head and follow the crane into your inner self that which is eternal, outside of time.  This is where the answer lies.  Crane is a bird that brings people into the hereafter, and as the stork, it brings them into life again.  It also represents creativity and longevity.  Another message I got from the crane, be patient, stay focused, a fish will appear soon.
Enjoy your day with the angels.  Watch for the helpful messages that wing their way to you from nature.  Collectively, humanity is going through a powerful birthing process, with the help of the heavenly realm.  A wonderful reminder that we are loving eternal beings far beyond time and space.

Love and joyful blessings,

The Robins' Song: An Angel Message

Early this morning the tall trees out back were atwitter with a cheerful song from a large flock of red breasted robins.  Tree limbs bounced as berries were hungrily plucked from a plentiful bounty.  Some birds came fluttering down, splashing into the birdbath. What fun to watch their wings flap in the cool waters causing quite a stir.  The sight of so many robins at once made me think that the angels were sending a message.  Here's what I learned about the symbolism of a robin:

The robin is a songbird, the females join in the singing.  The significance of its red breast shows that it has its heart in the right place and a voice to express itself.  This is exactly what the robin means to tell you when it makes an appearance clear to you.  Perhaps you should finally express what moves your heart.  Perhaps it is time to show your true colors.  The robin's message is to express yourself -- it can be a smile, sadness, joy but to express simple sentiments that arise in your innermost heart.  Feel free to be you.

Interesting timing as so many women are flocking together this weekend in America due to the government shutdown.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Rae Karen

You Are Here: An Angel Message

Fun Postcard from Gillespie Museum Gift Shop

It's fun to listen to where the angels may lead each day.  I've always been a rock hound of sorts.  One afternoon this week, Elliot and I took a spontaneous tour of a rock show.  Nearby Stetson University has a wonderful Earth Science Museum on campus.
Their collection consists of more than 15,000 minerals, rocks, and fossils.  A favorite of mine, an Amethyst Vug called the "Purple Giant", stands 6'7", weighs 700 lbs. and contains about 500,000 carats of quartz amethyst!  I like to stand in front of that Giant Beauty and soak up the purple quartz healing energy.  A reminder that I can't judge by appearances, what may appear rough and unremarkable on the outside, shimmers with rare inner beauty.  Sometimes great pressure is necessary before we can see the best in ourselves and others.

This colorful volcanic rock looks like one of my rainbow sponge cakes, a reminder to stay out of the kitchen.
A quartz skull from Mexico...a reminder not to be so hard-headed.

And last, but not least, a reminder to love and respect our home, Earth, a rocky planet.  That's where I found the "You Are Here" postcard-- at home here on the blue marble nestled in the vast universe of infinity.

As a souvenir, I picked up a chuck of dolomite in the museum gift shop. I loved the purplish pink color with the darker purple lines etched throughout the smooth stone.   I was in for a surprise when I looked up the properties at home.  It was more of a fit than I realized.  "Dolomite encourages charitable actions and relieves sorrow in such a way as to assist one to recognize there are actually no reasons to be sorrowful [i.e., "everything happens for a reason"].
With the loving help of the angels, and the Holy Spirit, I'm still working on that one...  But it does look nice on the mantle by a beautiful angel my neighbor's sister sculpted of her daughter. A reminder that her angelic inner beauty is within each of us, ready to shine out in the world.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Rae Karen

Charge Your Day with Happiness: An Angel Message

It's a wonderful practice to smile when you first wake up in the morning. Smile to life.  A brand new day brings an opportunity to choose again.

Before my feet  touch the floor, I can set an intention of the kind of day I want to experience. This unique day comes only once.  So why not charge the day with happiness!  Then watch, with expectancy, as the Angels join in celebration of your life.  Whatever comes your way, let it slide, and be joyful.  Everything is either love or a call for love.

Love and joyful blessings,

Iris Reflection: An Angel Message

As most of you know, I love irises.  At one time, iris was the common word for a rainbow.  This special flower often signals a new birth is at hand.  As a messenger, it brings a sense of peace and hope being restored.   Recently, the Angels delivered a double treat.   What a surprise to discover a colorful iris imprint on our plain dining room drapes. The circular stained glass iris in the window had been a birthday gift from my mother over 30 years ago.  I got the picture. Watch what you're reflecting out into the world, as it will come right back making an impression on you.  So think on the bright side.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Peck, Peck, Pecking Away - An Angel Message

When going through major trials I find it helpful to focus on an image of hope.  I imagine myself as a baby chick inside an egg.  Each adversity that comes is a chance for me to peck harder on that dark, exterior shell. (Pecking away through prayer, meditation, contemplation, etc.)  One peck at a time, I'm closer to great freedom.

Shattering the dark illusion, I will wiggle out of brokenness into the Light.  With new-found wings spread open wide, what joy to soar fetter-less toward heavenly vistas.

Like a song bird in the night,
it sings, knowing the dawn is
coming.

Angels Have Wings to Carry Our Prayers

A friend invited me on a trip to a garden center in a nearby town.  Not only filled with exotic plants and flowers, the garden accessories were a treat.  This angel  wing statue was heaven sent: "Angels have wings to carry our prayers."

Prayers are a powerful way to connect with God. Whenever I feel worry coming on, I try to remember to stop and pray. I think of all the ways God has come through in previous challenges. This review leaves me feeling stronger and not so alone. "He has given his angels charge over me."

I fondly recall an angel assignment years ago.  While our Honda was going through the car wash, Elliot and I ran next door to McDonald's. On the way, I found a penny in the parking lot.  A sign the angels are near.  Everything is in divine order.

That morning on our way out, I grabbed my box of angel scrolls. Grace, Peace, Love, Joy, Abundance, Healing, etc.  Each one rolled with a prayer for the right person, at the right time, at the right place.

Inside the Golden Arches, I grabbed a table while Elliot got in line.  A woman came in alone and sat down at the table beside me.

The angels nudged me to offer her an angel scroll from the box I carry in my purse.  Each tiny scroll is rolled up and tied in a curly ribbon.

When she stared at the little scrolls tied in assorted colors, she hesitated.

I wondered if my guidance had been off.  But I went on to explain it was her angel message for the day. That brought a smile, and as she picked one, she told me that she loved the Lord.

Then she began to softly weep. Her husband of 55 years had passed away last year.  They had been together since their teens. At first, she had no idea what to do without him, she was so lonely.  Prayer and Bible study had helped her heal.

Then, she smiled, "God's Hand had recently guided her to a new home."  Her face softened, "Looking back, I could see how God had unfolded all of the events leading up to my husband's peaceful transition."  He had the last available room at a beautiful nearby hospice.  (The same heavenly place my own Mom made her transition.)

My new friend opened up her little scroll. "The Angel of Clarity," she smiled.  "This is about my recent move and getting settled in."

"You know, I almost called my girl friend to meet me here for breakfast. I'm so lonesome, but God had that covered. He sent you."

So while her little dog, Rejoice, was getting groomed nearby, and our car was being washed, the angels were taking care of heavenly business at The Golden Arches.  I love it.

Enjoy your day with the Angels and follow their loving guidance.

Love and joyful blessings,

Rae Karen

Is that You? Language of Synchronicity: An Angel Message

Postcard from Convention
I'm continually amazed by the many ways angels weave our circumstances together to create delight.  As most of you know I joined an international  post-crossing project, with a half million others, last November.  An old-fashioned postcard exchange sent to random strangers around the world.  (Postcrossing.com) At first, I opted to only send and receive foreign cards, but in December, I changed my profile to include  U.S.

Soon the computer randomly generated an assignment for me to send a postcard to someone in my state.  A bit of a disappointment as she was not far, just up on the Florida panhandle. But the angels were cooking up something. My new Floridian correspondent received my wintry postcard and excitedly wrote back that she was soon coming to my town for a post card convention! If not for her, I would have missed the show as it wasn't well advertised.

So last Friday most of the day was spent sifting through long cardboard boxes of postcards sorted by categories. Postcard heaven had come to our back door! The warm warehouse at the county fair grounds was packed with vendors who unpacked boxes and boxes of vintage as well as contemporary cards.

Another "angel" thing happened that day; my new friend had given me a description, in case we should bump into each other.  That afternoon, while rifling through a card box at a table, I happened to notice the woman who sat beside me, doing the same.  An angel whisper brought my attention to detail.  She was wearing purple, slender, tall, in her fifties.  Bing.  I asked if she was Laura. It was one of those divine appointments that you can't make happen without great planning.  With her help, I found the right vendors as well as advice on buying postage stamps.  I love it!

Imagine the odds, half a million people sending posts cards around the world, a large facility at the County Fairgrounds teeming with postcard aficionados, and we meet up at the perfect time and place. What a wonderful illustration of angel guidance and help, when asked to be of service. The evening before the event, I invited the angels to be there at the fair grounds.  I asked that each person receive what they needed, and thanked the angels for a happy, successful post card fair.  And it was.

It's A Small World After All: An Angel Message

Maybe living close to Disney prompted the title, It's A Small World After All.  Yesterday my teabag message was the remedy needed:  "What is yours will come to you," gave me a moment of quiet repose.  Every day for the past two weeks, I've been checking my mailbox for my first international postcard.    Many cards were joyfully mailed to China, Russia, Germany, Japan, and so on.  But not a one was coming back.  Must admit it forced me to stop and be glad that I could send cards out, not so much about the return, but still...

"So what is yours will come to you."  A wonderful reminder to let go and allow everything to free flow.  Having surrendered, guess what?  It was almost 6:30 p.m. when I opened the mailbox, and pulled out a stack of mail.  Mixed in with the bunch, were three postcards.  One had traveled across the planet all the way from Tasmania/Australia; another from South Korea, and the third from Canada.  It is a small world, after all.  Enjoy singing along to  IT'S A SMALL WORLD SONG

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Love and joyful blessings,
