Archangel Michael at the Threshhold

These are times of radical change, letting go of the old to embrace the new. It takes courage to move forward in a new direction, but help is a constant companion. I love the symbolism of this artistry...Archangel Michael stands guard at the threshhold of a new doorway. His protection and guidance are available to every seeker on the path. Sometimes he is called the Archangel of Change. When we find ourselves willing to be in the world as an agent for change, which of course begins with us, and spreads to others, it is Archangel Michael who wields his sword of blue flame, cutting away the fear and guilt, that often attempt to hold us back from new beginnings. He will serve as a guide and bring us to victory.

His name means "Who is like unto God." Any fears or reservations that are holding you back from your good, ask Archangel Michael for help and then watch what happens.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Peace be with you.

Coming Up for Air...

Manatee at Blue Springs

Sometimes we need to take a breather, to come up for air, and see things from a different perspective. To look our fears in the face and not let them have any power over us. By choosing to see things differently, it's often surprising to find the answer was there all the while, waiting for us to "look up". Angels are good at gently nudging to come up higher in our thoughts. When life gets hard and we feel alone and overwhelmed, take a breath, still your mind. Breathe and allow the presence of Divine Love to enfold you in gentle understanding.

Our ego would have us condemned, steeped in guilt, for wrong choices. But in truth there is no right or wrong, only lessons to be learned. Made in the image and likeness of God, our identity is one of perfection. Nothing we can do or say can improve on that perfection. Likewise, nothing we can do or say can lessen our worth. The goal is to awaken from a dream that we could be separated from the Love of God.

Today we give gratitude for knowing that God goes with us wherever we are. Where we are, God is.

Many blessings,

Karen

The Floral Apostles

Holy Week begins with palms and ends with lilies. Flowers are often apostles for me. On Saturday afternoon I saw a wonderful sign of the resurrection energy. This little flower caught my eye. It was blooming in a cement crack on the patio. Having pushed its way up into the sunlight of a new day, I was surprised to see it. A messenger for me that out of nothing suddenly comes something in the most hopeless situations. What is needed is just a little willingness... to keep pushing upward... and to leave the details to God. Although it may appear we are in a tight spot with no place to grow...don't give up hope. Everything necessary is already within us and at the right time we'll have a tremendous breakthrough.

The lotus was another floral messenger that day, teaching the same lesson. Although the water level at the lake had receded from the drought, there is enough to bloom in the muddy waters.
Both flowers were yellow, the color symbolizing faith.
The Zohar teaches, each flower has its angel, whispering, GROW! GROW! GROW!
Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Mary Magdalene and The Red Egg

(Wikipedia: Viktor Vasnetsov, 1899)

When growing up, our family often visited my grandparents on the farm at Easter time. I have fond memories of coloring eggs in Grandma's kitchen at her big round oak table. I wanted my eggs to turn out perfectly. Carefully lowering the plain white egg into a cup of color, I couldn't wait for the miracle. Recently, I was surprised to hear about a biblical testimony concerning Mary Magdalene and the tradition of coloring Easter eggs:

Mary was a woman of wealth and great status, and after Jesus' resurrection, she used her position to gain an invitation to a banquet given by Emperor Tiberius Caesar. Upon meeting him, she held a plain white egg, exclaiming, "Christ is risen!"

Caesar laughed, saying, Christ rising from the dead was as likely as the egg in her hand turning red. But before he could finish speaking, the egg had turned bright red.

"Christ is risen, for Jesus has burst forth from the tomb," she cried and then continued to proclaim the Gospel to the emperor's guests. The miracle of the egg turned many to Christ that day.

Some eastern Orthodox Christians end their Easter service by sharing bright red eggs and declaring, "Christ is risen."

The egg symbolizes new life. Christ bursting forth from the tomb. Angels are part of the resurrection story. They are part of our story as well, as we rise in consciousness like the Christ, shedding the ego's burial shrouds, we burst forth into our true Identity, as God's holy Child.

Happy Easter!

Joyful Blessings,

A Question of Timing...

(International exhibition of Skydivers)

Angel cloud wings

Timing is everything... not only up in the air...but on the ground. Last weekend here in DeLand, we hurried to see the international skydivers exhibition in action. They represented many countries from around the world, but when we arrived the first day, the event was over. All the participants were lounging around, resting on benches and in tents. The energy clearly said it was all over. There was no schedule so we went back home.

The next morning we were guided to get up early and drive over to the field. What excitement to watch 11 planes each carrying 20 divers make a formation high in the sky. A simultaneous jump forming several rings, it took patience and accuracy to get everyone positioned. The clouds often covered the view, but we kept our eyes looking upward. It was a beautiful morning and the clouds were like white angel wings holding the space.

Before long, we watched as the sky filled with a cluster of colorful dots, like confetti sprinkling down from the heavens. A celebration of life.

The event was a good metaphor for me. When nudged to do something, don't procrastinate like we did the first day. And sometimes we have to wait for the clouds to disburse before we see the big picture.

Enjoy your day with the Angels.

Blessings,

Karen

The New Dawn - December 2012

(photo from Wikipedia: small section of the glyphs)

Last year I came across a little pamphlet on guardian angels. One suggestion really appealed to me. Daily welcome the guardian angels of everyone in your city as well as the Guardian Angel overseeing the city. This request can open doors in which the angels can offer assistance as needed. Because we have free will, they do not interfere unless asked.

Since that time, every day I have welcomed the guardian angels of Deland. Yesterday evening a single engine plane crashed into the meat department at the Publix grocery store less than a mile away. The amazing thing is no one was killed; several were seriously injured, but the pilot and co-pilot survived.

I'm not saying that my prayers alone made a difference, but I believe collectively, we each can be a transformer for the love and light of God, by pausing during the day and giving thanks to our celestial friends.

Tonight we heard a lecture at Stetson University on the Mayans and especially the significance of December 21, 2012, as the end of a cycle of time known as the 13 B'aktun. The name for the new beginning is La Neuva Era, (The New Dawn). The lecturer, Gespar Pedro Gonzalez, is the only Mayan author out of more than 500 books written about this auspicious time, the ending of the 13th cycle of 144,00 days in the Mayan Long Count Calendar. His book, 13 B'aktun Mayan Visions of 2012 and Beyond, brings good news--that in spite of all the turmoil in the world-- it isn't too late for humanity to change.

Although no one knows for sure what this really means, I believe that we will be moving up in consciousness from a 3rd to a 4th and 5th dimensional frequency of living. With all the solar eruptions effecting our electromagnetic field, there is a consciousness quickening occurring globally, as well as internally. Part of this transformation, is staying in the now, and not reacting to what our physical senses are telling us, but going within.

This is an exciting time to be alive and to witness a quantum leap in consciousness.

Happy Birthday Rex!

(Rex and I visiting our Grandparents' farm)

My brother Rex is celebrating his birthday today. Growing up we didn't realize how his life would touch the lives of millions, bringing hope and light into the world. In the mid-90's, he began researching why people from all walks of life and from all religions were reporting direct contact with angels in unprecedented numbers. For the better part of a year, he and his film crew traveled the country compiling film footage for what would become a television documentary, Angels: The Mysterious Messengers aired on NBC.

In his book based on interviews from the film, Rex concludes: "But the angels do not call us to heaven. People are not giving themselves over to an esoteric notion, but rather are taking inspiration and responsibility for the shaping of their lives. It is a life that calls for vigilance and compassion and understanding and courage. I have been among these mysterious faithful who have cast their lot with their faith. And the work is being done. There are beings out there building a better world. And many of them are angels."

We thank you, Rex, for being one of them. Happy Birthday.

Love,

Karen

Guardian Angel Prayer

Christian prayer

(18th century rendition of a guardian angel)

I wanted to share this traditional Catholic prayer to one's guardian angel. It is so comforting to know that wherever we are or whatever we do, we are never alone. Our guardian angel joined us on this earthly sojourn and will not forsake us, no matter what. Our guardian angels know us better than we know ourselves. They inspire us with loving thoughts to help expand our awareness of ourselves.

So take a breath and go within allowing the presence of Divine Love to enfold you in perfect grace and harmony.

Angel of God, my guardian dear
to whom God's love commits me here.
Ever this day/night be at my side
to light, to guard, to rule and guide.
Amen.

In Latin:

Angele Dei,
qui custos es mei,
me, tibi commissum pietate superna,
illumina, custodi,
rege et guberna.
Amen.

For the Sake of Harmony: An Angel Message

In recent blogs, I've shared a keyword that keeps coming up for me. Harmony. I found this plaque a few days ago at Habitat for Humanity and put it in the sun room by the front door.

"Love is what binds us together in perfect harmony" A good reminder in my going out and my coming in that harmony is the key.

On Saturday while waiting in line at a department store, an irate customer stormed through the door, cutting in front of me at the service counter. Demanding a refund, he slammed his bag on the counter.

The sales girl recognized him from an earlier exchange when she had given him a store credit for a belt he had purchased. This new belt had also fallen apart. His bellowing brought the store manager and another sales clerk to help out. "Please lower your voice," she said. "This is not helping us resolve your issue."
"I want other customers to know! I'm never coming back here!"

I never heard anyone scream so loud in public. Silently, I asked Archangel Michael to be with us and called on the guardian angels of everyone present to help.

A mother and her toddler were also in line. My heart went out to the little girl. An idea came to me, to offer to pay for the belt that was less than $10. It seemed a small price to pay for the sake of harmony.

A funny thing happened as soon as I made the offer. The man calmed down and thanked me, saying, you don't have to do that.

Just knowing someone else cared, seemed to make all the difference. As I left the store, he and the sales people were working out a solution.

It's so hard to remember that all anger is a call for love. These are stressful times and love is the answer.

I love the words "In atmosphere of Love divine, we live, and move, and breathe." (Hymn 144 in the Christian Science Hymnal)

Enjoy your day with the angels and remember who you really are.

Perspective

I took this photo from the outside, looking in at the Bok Tower Welcome Center.

I took this one from inside the Welcome Center, looking out the same window as above. At the time I didn't intentionally plan on doing a blog, but when I uploaded the photos an idea came to me on perspectives.

The same site, two different perspectives of the same window, both equally true.

So often we speak of the same idea or thing... only our terminology is different. We are sharing an experience without understanding that our approach to the situation is not from the same vantage point. Although the view is quite different, the terrain is the same. One perspective is no more true than the other. Only in our personal description, it may seem radically different.

There is a way in which to harmonize the flow of communication that I've found most helpful and that is to silently ask the Holy Spirit for a holy relationship with the person to whom I'm speaking. The conversation takes on a higher consciousness and it is often the other person who escalates the exchange to higher ground. The Holy Spirit dwells within each mind and knows the best way to bring a touch of heaven to our relationships.

Enjoy your day with the Angels of Communication.

Blessings,

Karen

Share the Sunshine: An Angel Message

Birthdays are a time of special celebration and the presence of the angels seem more palpable. Last week on Elliot's birthday, he was suddenly inspired by the beautiful weather to take a road trip. The Angel of Spontaneity hurried us out the door, and we were heading for beautiful Bok Tower in Lake Wales. A 50-acre historical site on central Florida's highest point, known for its beautiful gardens and singing tower. Enclosed in the tower are 60 carillon bells, one weighing almost 12 tons. A perfect place for a musician to spend his birthday.

On the highway, we followed this truck:  SHARE THE SUNSHINE.

When we arrived at the gate, Bok Tower had just opened at 8 AM.  With the car windows rolled down, the heavenly fragrance of orange blossoms was intoxicating as we drove through orange groves. Off in the distance, high on a hill,  the 205' pink marble tower appeared like a spire from King Arthur's castle. Bok Tower is better than the Magic Kingdom, if you enjoy nature, music, and beautiful flowers and trees.

This lovely spot among the trees had once been an arid sand hill where Bok enjoyed taking evening walks to the top of "Iron Mountain" to enjoy the sunsets. An idea came to him to preserve the hilltop and create a bird sanctuary, a place of beauty and serenity. By doing so, he would also fulfill the advice of his Dutch grandmother.

"Make you the world a bit better or more beautiful because you have lived in it."

President Calvin Coolidge dedicated the Tower and Sanctuary in 1929. Since the Singing Tower is in a bird sanctuary, Florida birds such as the pelican, the flamingo, the heron, the goose and the swan are sculpted in a band that circles the Tower. Eagles are also part of the design, half way up, because the Singing Tower is a gift to the nation. Some of the greatest masters were commissioned by Bok to create this magnificent edifice. The dove, a symbol of Edward Bok's commitment to world peace recurs in many styles and material throughout the tower and gardens.

We were enjoying breakfast as we sat alone in the empty cafe that overlooks the beautiful gardens. A holy hush, a strong sense of peace surrounded me as I looked out on the flowers that morning.  Soft instrumental music made the atmosphere even more serene. I looked down by the napkin holder.  To my surprise, a small business card had been placed there.

"You were created in the image and likeness of God..."

It was an unexpected, loving reminder of what I've been trying to learn.  "I am made in the image and likeness of God." I joyfully laughed as if being touched on the shoulder.  Curious, I looked around to see if the card was on the other tables, but ours seemed to be the only one of choice.

I was so thankful for the angelic touches that help keep our focus on the Truth.  Everything begins with thought.  If only I can keep my mind on my true Identity as a spiritual idea in the Mind of God rather than a mortal of flesh and bones, then life can be experienced now as heaven on earth, and what joy to share the sunshine as a light of God.

My Grandmother, in the heavenly choir, no doubt was smiling as we listened to her favorite hymn played by the bells, How Great Thou Art.

Many blessings,

Rae Karen

Solar Flares - Effects on Consciousness

(NASA image shows the solar flare that sent a solar stream of charged particles heading toward Earth last week. NASA/AP)

When I learned about the solar storm charging toward Earth last Tuesday, I wondered what effect these high frequency charged particles would have on our consciousness. The news stated this was the biggest storm in five years, with the additional storms reaching their peak in 2013.

I did a little research on the web. Through our interconnectedness, everything effects everything else. This we know. While these particles can wreak havoc with the electro magnetic energy field of the Earth, causing disruptions in computer generated activities, there is a brighter side to this manifestation.

The Mayan calendar ends in 2012, which could indicate a wave of a new consciousness of being. With the influx of solar activity, our personal electro magnetic field is also being transformed. This higher frequency helps create the power of instant manifestation of thoughts...whatever we think we create instantly. I've noticed how these energies create a magnification of issues that need healing, bringing them up to the surface to be addressed. If we are harboring anger, fear, jealousy, our energy fields can weaken during solar activity.

God's thoughts passing to us, are His angels, guiding us to come up higher in our thinking. As we process our stuff, it is important to not get caught in the material illusion. Walk over it, but not in it or through it, making it more real than it is. The Holy Spirit's consciousness within you knows the Truth and will provide the translation into light when we still our minds and ask to see things differently. He will take every dark thought we share with Him and shine the Light on it, dispelling all the trouble. Love conquers everything. It is truly an exciting time to be alive, as I believe we are being birthed into a brand new way of being.

So take the storms lightly as they come and be thankful that you're made perfect in the image and likeness of God, nothing can ever be added or taken away from the perfection that you are in Spirit.

Blessings,

Karen
